Backstory|
Aru was born out of the union of the goddess of mummification and funerals, Anput, and the lunar god Khonsu. She grew quickly, like many of her brethren, and soon took her place among the ranks of all the gods of Egypt. For the Millennium after her birth, she split her time between serving the pharoah, He who was Horus born anew, and sailing with Ra on his nightly journey aboard the sun barge, fighting beside her brethren to protect the sun god from the serpent of chaos. But when Egypt fell, and Rome conquered her beloved Egypt, she retreated to the Duat, as the loss of the united Egypt weakened her. She continued to serve aboard the sun boat, and took her place beside the god Horus as a Protector of the True Pharaoh.
Though she may not always seem so, she is a mischievous individual, often getting into trouble when not on the sun barge or protecting the pharoah. For a Millennium, after angering a few of the gods, she was bound to a barge that traversed the Duat, her punishment being to guide souls to the hall of two truths, the hall of judgment where there souls would be judged. During that millenia, she was unable to leave the barge for very long.
