Chapter 10: Date!
You slowly stretched your aching muscles from sleeping on the couch and looked at the time, it was around 9:36 am. You got up and looked over at your room where Izuku was still sleeping.
It was a Friday and you knew that it was still a workday.
You slowly walked into your room and made your way over to him and shook him slightly. "Izukuuu." You said trying not to startle him. "Izukuuuuu." You tried again and he started to stir until he opened up his eyes. "Hey, morning." You greeted. He was confused at first but then remembered everything that happened yesterday.
"Morning Y/n." He said as he sat up and rubbed the tiredness from his eyes. "What time is it?" He asked with a yawn.
"9:39 am." You answered casually. His eyes shot open and threw the covers up and off of him.
"I'M LATE!" He shouted as he put on his shoes and grabbed his coat. "Thanks for everything!" Before he left the apartment he grabbed you by your waist and planted a surprisingly soft kiss on your lips. "See you later bye!" He then rushed out and didn't even close the door.
You couldn't help but just stand there dumbfounded by what just happened. You went to close your door and decided to start breakfast. A small smile started creeping up on your face and it just wouldn't go away.
It felt great to fall in love again.
-
You spent the day looking for places for rent with Celest and thankfully you two found a great place, it was a bit more expensive than you two thought but it would work out in the long run.
"Congrats!" Celest cheered when you told her that you two finally confessed. "I just knew you two would get together!" She seemed so happy for you making you chuckle at her enthusiasm towards your love life.
"He didn't say we're boyfriend and girlfriend officially, can we talk about something else?" You asked with a reddened face. "Like how the hell we're gonna pay for everything we need?"
"Don't worry! I know a guy that can give us what we need!"
"Please make sure it's legal."
"Fineeee. Now let's get moving!" Energetic as ever, she pushed you so you could walk faster down the sidewalk towards her car.
"Hey, can you stop by Deku's hero company?" You asked.
"Huh? What for, you gonna apply for a job there?" Celest joked as she drove down the highway.
"Izuku left some kind of card at my place last night. It looks important so I'm guessing he must need it for work." You inspected the card once more, it was white with a black stripe on the back like a credit card would have but no name or any kind of information on it.
"Sure thing." Celest answered happily. You both arrived in no time and you got out of her car.
"I won't take long." You said before heading inside. The place looked so busy, sidekicks and assistants walking around everywhere with something to do. You were a little intimidated and walked over to the reception desk.
"Hello and welcome, how can I help you?" It was a nice looking lady with short spiky blue hair.
"Hi, um, I'm looking for Izuku? Izuku Midoriya." The lady raised her eyebrows, you noticed she was just a tad surprised.
"And what is your business with him?" She asked just as she would to any other person nonetheless.
"I'm here to return this to him." You showed her the card.
Meanwhile, Deku just so happened to be walking through the first floor since he had something to discuss with another hero's representative. He was shocked seeing you there and before you could see him, he decided to make a run for it and hid until you left.
He could see you were finishing up your conversation with her and soon enough you were leaving. He let out a breath and wondered why you were here of all places. He then made his way over to the receptionist's desk.
"Hey, Reina." He greeted, his smile showing through his mask.
"Oh! Deku just the person I needed to see. A woman named Y/n came by to drop this off." She handed him the card. "Do you know her?" She asked.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, something like that." He said casually, not wanting to give her any personal information. "Well, thank you!" He waved goodbye and went back to work.
-
You were at home taking the rest of the day off and everything was pretty calm. You were about to change the CD in the stereo when your phone started to ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey Y/n." You could tell it Was Izuku making your heart beat faster.
"Hey, Izuku how are you?" You asked as you walked over to your extensive collection of CDs.
"I've been doing well, things have settled down here at work." You could hear the smile in his tone as he spoke.
"That's great to hear."
"Yeah, so I was wondering..." He paused for a moment making you antsy to hear what he had to say. "Would you like to go out for dinner?" You raised your eyebrow in surprise.
"Oh, well sure. I think that would be great." You answered a lot smoother than you thought.
"Perfect, I'll send you the address of the place. Does 7 sound good?"
"Yup." You gave him a short answer so you wouldn't end up stuttering."
"Okay, see you then." He let out a chuckle sending chills down your spine.
"Yeah, can't wait." You hung up and proceeded in squealing as if this were your first date ever.
-
"See you tomorrow everyone!" Deku called out as he headed out of the last official meeting.
It was a long day but it was gonna be worth it seeing you later on.
Deku was about to take off his uniform but of course, his watch had to ring right now.
"Damn it." He muttered as he tapped the side of his helmet to get the information on what was going on and where.
It wasn't too far and he would try his best to finish this up quickly.
He bent down charging up his power to jump over the buildings to get to his destination.
Now of all times...
When Deku arrived, the police were already the scene when about 5 miles out of the city.
The police took notice of him and Deku could see their grim expressions turn into that of relief.
He had general information about what was occurring, "There was a call from a civilian stating a blast coming from the Iron factory. The workers are still inside." Deku turned to the Chief "Have any demands been made?" The hero pulled up his gloves as he scanned the perimeter.
"None. It's actually been quiet from their end." He said as the other officers tried to communicate via megaphone.
"Okay, keep everyone on standby. I'm going in."
With that, Deku leaped into the top window effortlessly and entered the building. There were hostages and he had to be careful in his approach. He didn't want it to end like last time.
He made his way to the main hallway. After covering the whole floor, he headed downstairs.
Boxes wrapped in clingfilm and stacked against the walls on all sides and some stacked in the middle, haphazardly. He makes his way carefully around the boxes, hand charged with power and ready to strike before turning another corner he spots what looked like legs sticking out from behind some pile of boxes.
"Come out. We got you surrounded." He said firmly in place.
There was no response.
Deku quietly took something out from his side pouch and rolled it on the floor towards whoever was on the other side. In mere seconds a gas leaked from it and he took the chance to charge in, activating one of his other Quirks: Heightened vision. He could easily see through the thick smoke but much to his surprise the only people were tied up and with duct tape on their mouths. He counted all of them, checking to see if anyone was missing and thankfully all the workers were accounted for.
"All the hostages are accounted for and safe, no Villain insight," Deku spoke through his communicator. "Don't worry, you're all safe. I'm here." He could see everyone's expression relax once he said that. He walked over to one of the people there and carefully removed the tape from their mouth hoping to get some answers as to what was going on.
"Hi, can you please tell me what happened here?" His voice was gentle as he spoke, not wanting to scare any of them.
"We, we don't know. One second we were closing up the factory the next we were all paralyzed in place. We didn't see what was going on. All we heard were people moving around and machines probably being removed but that's all." She explained, her hands trembling as they held each other.
"And how did you all end up here?" He asked as he moved along to the other workers to set them free.
"We don't know. It all happened in a flash." This kind of information wasn't helping him out in any way, making him frustrated.
"Thank you all for your help, don't worry, you'll all be home in no time with your loved ones." Deku made one last scan of the whole building to make sure the villain wasn't sneaking around. He then guided everyone out and towards the ambulance to get checked.
"Looks like the Villain is long gone, we'll need to get a search party out and the police should make a double patrol in the city just in case." Deku instructed.
"Right and now how are we-"
"Hi there!" Even Deku was somewhat startled seeing a lady pop up behind him with a cameraman next to her. "I just knew that blast meant a good story!" She smiled brightly towards the number one hero. "May I ask you a few questions?" She asked politely.
Deku inwardly sighed but nodded in agreement nonetheless.
"Thank you! Start rolling!" She fixed her outfit and looked towards the camera. "And here we are once again! Here on Japan News, I'm standing next to someone we all know and love, the number one Hero Deku!" She turned her attention to him.
"Can you please tell me what happened here?" She pointed her mic towards him.
"Well, there was a villain who took 18 workers hostage but everyone is safe and sound."
"And what about that explosion?" She continued.
"It was at the moment the Villains broke in, they used dangerous explosives to do so." He was pretty calm answering her questions.
"Everything is a-okay here everyone!" She gave a wink towards the camera then back to the Hero. "That's good to hear, but what happened to the Villains?" If it wasn't for the mask, the people at home watching would have noticed him start to sweat.
"Well, he escaped before we could get here but we're searching for him now, we'll get them soon enough, so please don't worry because I'm here to protect you all." He answered better than he had hoped but the reporter wanted more.
"But what about those hostages? When they were in danger you were nowhere to be found." Her tone was just a tad less cheerful than before.
Another reporter trying to find the worst in heroes...
Deku thought with a sigh.
"It pains me when I can't be there on time but as long as no one got hurt, then I'll continue to do my best. I have to get going, thank you." Deku gave a curt bow and rushed out of the scene.
"You heard it first, here on Japan News! More details to come, back to..." Deku could hear the reporter's voice faded as he rushed back home to get changed and go on his date!
