Chapter nineteen

Scar pov:

I wake up in the hospital again. The second time in a couple weeks. And Grians here again.

"Hi Grian." He looks up from his communicator to me, his eyes wide.

"Scar! You're up!" He says and places his communicator on the counter beside him.

"Yeah, did I miss anything?"

"Nah."

We sit in awkward silence until Stress comes in.

"Hey Scar, now that you're awake I'm going to need you to sign this." Stress says. I do even though I have no clue why I would need to.

"Why do you do paperwork?" I ask her nicely.

"Oh! That's a hard question. It feels familiar I guess. Why?" She asks and I shrug.

"Well, you can leave now, just don't do anything excruciating, it might rip your stitches." Stress says.

"Okay, thanks Stress." Grian says and we leave, having to boat across the ocean to his base.

Once back to Grians house I hop out of the boat, trying to keep my head straight and not move it too much, since it hurts quite a bit.

"You should probably get some sleep, it'll help your head stop hurting I'm sure." Grian says and I shake my head the best I can.

"I'm fine, my head doesn't hurt at all!" I say, needing to stay away from them. Even if they're not real in my dreams.

"Please Scar, for me?" Grian asks, looking up at me, seeming real sad.

"How about we watch a movie?" I say instead, walking towards Grians den.

There's a mug with an angry cat on it with tea in it. It seems like it was left for a while.

I pass it and sit on the couch, grabbing the remote.

"Grian, wanna come and watch a movie?"

I wait for a bit, but there's no immediate response. I brush it off, perhaps he's busy. It's his house after all.

Turning on the tv I hear nothing, it's strange and wrong.

"Grian?" I call and still, no answer.

Beginning to worry now, I leave the living room, headed to the kitchen, but he's not there. The front door, but he's not there. His room, but he's not there. The bathroom, but he's not there. Outside, but he's not there. I scour the entire house, but he's missing.

"'Grian! Please be hiding from me. Oh god." I say, feeling my breath being taken away from panic.

I sit down, trying to breath in and out as slow as possible, but it keeps going faster, my mind yelling at me to find Grian and my ears ringing.

"Please, help me." I wheeze, asking no one.

I manage to scramble my way to a safe enclosed place, not in the middle of a hall, which happens to be grians closet and find his communicator on the floor.

Still not breathing properly, my mind still too loud to handle, my ears still ringing I call the only person I can.

"Hey Grian, what's up?"

Grian pov:

It's black, all I can see is black, but I can hear voices. The voices of my fellow hermits.

Xisuma?

Why would X want to kidnap me?

What would he want with me?

What did I do wrong?

Where's Scar?

Scar, please be safe.

Scar's safe, he's safe.

If I keep telling myself that it'll be true.

He's gone home, and now he's watching Star Wars and eating popcorn he popped for himself, and Jellie laying on his lap. He's safe.

Please don't come looking for me Scar.

Scar pov:

"It's Scar, I-I...I lost Grian, he's gone. I don't know where he went. I- He could be dead! And it's my fault, 'cause I lost him. Grian, Grian, Grian. He's-"

"Scar, I'll be right over, just keep breathing alright, buddy? Ready? You're going to breath with me, okay. In, one, two, three. Out, one, two, three. In, one, two, three. Out, one, two, three. In, one, two, three. Out, one, two, three. In, one, two, three. Out, one, two, three." Impulse breathes with me, helping calm me down. "Are you feeling any better, bud?"

"Yeah, sorry for busying you." I say, wanting to tell him he can go back to whatever he's doing, but Grian's still missing.

"Are you at Grian's base or yours?" He asks, seeming kind.

"I'm at Grians, we just came home from my surgery." I say.

"I assumed, I took you there, it seemed pretty nasty." He says, "What happened?"

I try to think about it for the first time since I woke up an hour ago, but all I can remember was flying then falling.

"I can't remember. Sorry." I say, feeling bad.

"It's all good." He says, and I hear a ding at my front door.

I scurry down stairs, feeling a bit like a rat, my hair a mess, my clothes all wet from my tears, and my eyes red and puffy, but I open it anyways.

"We've got Grian."

[A/N] sorry for all the twisties and turnies, I've already kind of started planning the second book for this sooooo... kinda want to get this done? But not rush, at least not too much, still want this to be good. Also, how do you guys like the kinda evil xisuma? Don't forget to eat and hydrate!

{I do not own any of the characters, X would never kidnap Grian, this is all fiction}
