TRIS POV

The week goes by as usual with the regular load of customers and the usual busy routine. I met up with Christina for coffee as planned and had a wonderful time. She told me all about her boyfriend Will, whom she met at her store 'Candor Fashions'. Apparently, he is the brother of Cara, one of our friends from high school who had shifted to Indianapolis for an internship.

Christina told me how they went out for dinner together to catch up and how Will had asked her out on a date. She wanted to call me, but she knew that I was going to be busy at work, so she called Marlene over to help her get ready. She kept on rambling about her date night and how Will could be a nerd as well as a romantic.

I ended up sleeping over at her house. Christina kept asking me about my love life and to say she was disappointed at the fact that I'm still single would be an understatement. She even suggested that she would get Will to find a guy for me. Halfway through the night, I wanted to climb out the window and escape.

"Tris, anyone home??", Lynn shouts waving her hand in front of my face, snapping me out of my trance.

"Who were you dreaming about, huh?" she nudges my arm, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Lynn!!", I whisper-shout shoving her arm off.

"I was not dreaming about anyone," I say trying to hide the blush creeping up my face.

"I was just recalling the horrific sleepover at Chris's place. Don't tell Chris, but when she fell asleep, finally, I felt like jumping out the window and running for my life." I laugh.

"Good thing you don't call me. I would have thrown her out the window." she grins. I burst out laughing.

"Excuse me, " a deep voice calls out from the counter. I stop laughing as I look for the owner of the voice. Standing at the counter, he waits for us to go over to take his order. I push Lynn behind the counter. I study him as he gives his order. His face is covered partially by his sunglasses and oversized cap. But he is no doubt handsome. With a scruffy beard, he has a spare upper lip and a full lower lip. He quickly orders before turning around and settling himself into one of the corner tables.

"If you're done drooling, here's his order." Lynn smirks, handing me his order. I roll my eyes, taking the order paper from her. I quickly prepare his coffee, before placing it on a tray. I smooth out my uniform before taking the tray and walking towards him. As I reach his table, someone trips and falls onto me.

I watch in horror as the tray falls out of my hands, the coffee spilling out all over him. I block my fall with my hands as he shoots out of his chair and comes towards me.

"Amar, what are you doing" he shouts, not so loudly, looking at the man who tripped me. He reaches out his hand and helps me up.

"I am so sorry, " he says picking up the tray and the now empty coffee cup.

"No Sir, I am sorry. Please let me" I say as I take the tray and cup from his hands.

"I'll get you another one sir, " I apologize trying to clean up the mess on his table.

"No no, it's my fault. Let me help you there, " he says.

"Please sir, this is my job. Let me, "  I say embarrassed that I'm such a clumsy fool. Despite his protests to let him help, I don't let him. I've already messed up. As I turn around to head back to the counter, I hear Eric's door open.

"TRIS!!!", he yells, anger evident in his eyes...

"One stupid mistake... can change everything."
