Freak: Part 9 (Tokoyami)

We all sat in the stands stunned by what was happening in front of us in the arena. Bakugo had just won first place in the sports festival. He started yelling at Todoroki about how he should've used his flames, at least that was until Midnight used her quirk to make him fall asleep.

Mr. Mic screamed the excitement over the loud system while the class just kind of sat there. We didn't entirely know how to react. And I couldn't help but hold my stomach as a bad sense came to me.

"What is it?" Tokoyami asked me quietly, noticing me holding my stomach.

"I don't know." I told him, as I tried pinpointing my spider's sense. "Something doesn't feel good though."

"Y/n, Tokoyami, will you please come with me." Someone said and we turned to see that Mr. Aizawa was standing at the top of the stairs of the classes section.

We both stood and followed him down a couple of hallways, and a set of stairs. When we got to the bottom I could hear cheering from above us. We must be below the arena.

Looking over, I could see the cage that held the giant spider. I split away from Mr. Aizawa and Tokoyami and walked up to the cage. The spider moved slightly and tucked itself into its own legs even more. It knew I was the one standing there.

I chattered to it, and its legs moved only a little bit. Just enough to look at me. I chattered some more, and it moved its legs out of the way. It chattered back to me, and moved a bit closer to the bars of the cage. I reached my arm through the bars and stroked the chelicera of its mouth. The big puffy part that held the fangs in front of its actual mouth.

It snuggled into my touch, and I smiled. A little part of me was glad that it forgave me for beating it into submission. Who knows what this thing has had to go through to get here. Only to get beaten by me.

"Y/n." I heard and turned to look at Mr. Aizawa. He was standing not too far behind me. I walked away from the cage, and I watched as the spider uncurled itself to watch me walk away.

Mr. Aizawa walked us towards a set of podiums, and I turned my head in confusion.

"Wait Mr. Aizawa what's going on?" I asked him.

"You two are the second and third place winners of the Sports Festival." He told us, and I couldn't help but flinch.

"What about Todoroki?" Tokoyami asked him for me.

"Yeah, Todoroki was ahead of me in the ranking." I said.

"Correct, you originally made eighth place." Mr. Aizawa said as a set of doors opened. "However due to your boost from the herding game and Todoroki resigning from the Festival, you've been moved up to second place."

"Why?" I asked him. "Todoroki did so well."

"Something about his father." Mr. Aizawa said and shrugged. "I don't really know, nor do I care. It was his decision."

I heard something rattling and I turned my head to see Bakugo was being dragged around by chains. And he had a muzzle wrapped around his head.

"What's the meaning of this?" Tokoyami asked, and Bakugo fought against the people that were practically pinning him down as they attached the chains to the first place podium.

"Bakugo doesn't want to receive the first place prize." Mr. Aizawa said.

"Why can't he step down from the Festival? If Todoroki could why can't-?" I started asking before I was interrupted by some guys grabbing both me and Tokoyami and placed us up on the second and third podiums.

"And now!" Mr. Mic's voice boomed over the loud system, as a section of the field above us started sliding out of the way and lifting us up for everyone to see. "UA presents to you the top three of the Sports Festival! Katsuki Bakugo! Y/n l/n! and Fumikage Tokoyami! All from class 1-A!" Cheering filled my ears, as the podium stopped moving and we were left to be shown off to the world.

"Congratulations young y/n." All Might said as he stepped up a set of steps to place a second-place medal around my neck.

"Umm, thank you All Might." I said and he moved over to give Bakugo his medal.

I watched as Bakugo tried to fight receiving the medal, but All Might managed to slip it around his neck.

We stood there as a bunch of photographers and reporters surrounded us. I looked over to Tokoyami and he had the same uneasy look that I did when we looked at Bakugo.

I ignored the questions and cameras and looked out at a different part of the field. The feeling in my stomach was only getting worse. And I still couldn't pinpoint it. And I watched as it was almost like the air was twisting.

And that was when the air turned purple and it opened up. I watched as it grew, and when it stopped growing I watched as the League of Villains walked through the purple fog.

This was my bad feeling.
