13: Kidnapped Together
'Kidnapped Together'
The iron bars of my cell made a noise and I looked upwards to behold my sister standing there, held protectively by the same person that attacked me at the elevator.
I ignored him and rushed to the bars to get a better view of Tamara who smiled widely at me, displaying her white set of teeth. She hasn't grown lean for someone that has been in captivity for a month.
Tamara wriggled out of the man's grip and reached out to my hands in between the bars.
"I was terribly worried about you." I gushed and bent my head as tears filled my eyes. I didn't want her to see my tears but she did anyway. She lifted up my chin with a finger and brushed away my tears.
"I was worried too, I thought they had done something bad to you and mom."
The guard stepped forward to open the bars with a key. Tamara walked inside the cell and he locked the bars behind us.
I embraced her passionately, burying my head in the crook of her neck, she took a deep breath and wrapped her hands around me.
"How was mom when you left her?"
She liberated me from her grip and we walked to my bed.
"Mom has been over working herself over your kidnap, you know how she is."
Tamara nodded as we sat on the barely comfortable bed.
"How about my future husband?"
She averted her gaze as if she was expecting me to say that Michael abandoned us just after her kidnap.
"Michael's such a good guy, he has been really supportive, he visits regularly and although he made a trip to Paris, he still calls." I watched how her gaze returned back to me.
"Are you serious?" Tamara asked, her eyes glinting in surprise.
I nodded and she used her hands to cover her face whether out of embarrassment or happiness, I couldn't tell.
"I love him so much, Florence." She confessed and stared back at the iron bars bearing hope in her eyes.

Philip
“Good day, Mrs Steele." I adjusted my tie as Amanda opened the door cautiously.
"Philip! What a lovely surprise, come on in." She smiled and stepped aside to allow me enter the house where the woman I love resided until her kidnap. It pained me to realize that I wouldn't be seeing her pretty face in awhile.
Amanda ushered me into a seat and took the one next to me.
"What can I offer you? Water? Juice? name it."
"I'd like that but I'm afraid I won't be staying long." I politely declined. Her expression changed from lively to sullen and I blamed myself for not accepting her offer.
"I understand." She reclined in the sofa and watched me with her dark irises that reminded me again of Florence.
Why can't I get her off my mind? She reconciled with Peter already.
"I know how hard it must be for you, everything that has happened, I mean..." I paused when she shut her eyes and shook her head like she found my speech disagreeable.
"I know you love Florence..."
My lips formed a thin line and my cheeks heated up in embarrassment. How did she figure that out? I've never really displayed my feelings for Florence, have I?
I dumped my thoughts aside after concluding that there was nothing as sensitive as a mother's instinct.
"I know you do, it's visible in the way you look at her when you feel no one's watching."
I looked up at her like a schoolboy given a lecture on the matters of the heart.
"Your brother stopped by and suggested that I temporarily move out for my safety..."
"You..."
She placed a finger on her lips and silenced me.
"I'm afraid, I'll have to turn your suggestion down."
Her words left me flustered and at the same time full of adoration. How could she possibly read my thoughts?
Her keen senses made me a little more infatuated with her daughter and my resolve to hold on to Florence was reinforced.
Before leaving Amanda, we came to an agreement that I'd send over few of my most trusted personal guards to keep watch over her.
Same day
Florence
"Do you think we'll ever leave this place?"
I placed my head on my sister's shoulder and she let out a deep sigh. Our backs were against the grey wall for support and underneath us was the tiny bed assigned to me that we were forced to share.
"Nothing is impossible Florence, we just have to keep believing."
Tamara shifted further against the wall to withstand the pressure of my head on her shoulder.
"I could never have believed that dad's responsible for everything had I not personally seen him." I said and moved my head away from Tamara's shoulder. I observed her expression which had suddenly turned cold.
Dad left a long time ago without even saying goodbye to either mom, me or Tamara. He vanished into thin air and the next thing we heard was that he married mom's sister.
He left because he didn't love mom, it wasn't until now that I discovered that he never did love us, he was a filthy gold digger who took advantage of mom and abandoned her when he saw things were going downhill.
It was my earnest prayer that whoever I end up with won't treat me like the way dad treated mom, I wished the same for Tamara too.
Shouts from the passage leading to my cell interrupted my thoughts. Tamara and I exchanged glances, we rushed to the iron bars to see what was going on but unfortunately we couldn't.
Gunshots filled our ears and the sounds of bodies dropping to the floor accompanied them.
Then the guard who brought Tamara to me was shoved forwards by someone we couldn't see yet.
Then he appeared.
The guard opened the iron bars and Philip knocked him out with a blow to his head.
I hurried into Philip's arms and wrapped my hands around him. He kissed the top of my head and hugged me like I would fly away if he let go.
He only released me when one of his men approached us with his gun clutched tightly. Philip gestured at the guard who has passed out on the floor and the man handcuffed him and dragged him away from us.
Philip turned to Tamara who embraced him wholeheartedly. I didn't expect her to, seeing she had a huge grudge against him for what he did in the past.
"Thank you for coming to rescue us." She spoke and buried her face in his chest. He patted her back gently and held my hand with his other hand.
"You don't need to thank me." He smiled down at her and I used the opportunity to scrutinize him. He wasn't wearing a suit and tie with shiny pair of shoes. Instead, he had on a pair of black chinos trousers and a pair of combat shoes on his feet. The upper part of his body was covered with a T-shirt.
"I know, I'm hot right?" He asked with a smirk on his gorgeous face. I shrugged and turned to my sister who gave me a wink and walked away from us.
"I like your new look, you look just like..." It was my intention to tease Philip but then his lips crashed against mine. He held my waist and pulled me close to him.
My body was set on fire as our lips got tangled. I wrapped my hand around his neck and kissed him without any inhibition.
He nibbled on my lower lip and gently breathed on my face. My feet trembled slightly as his breath tickled the side of my face sensually.
To my dismay, he broke away from me and stared at me with his darkened irises.
"I'm not letting go, Florence. I love you."
His lips crashed against mine and everything apart from him faded away...
Who else is excited as I am?
Mr. Philip to the rescue!
I'm happy Florence and Tamara are finally released. But, it's not over, I can assure you.
