Well it depends on what I'm watching or which characters I like. The way I get inspired for some of my books can be different for others but for me it's how I would feel if I was there. It's a bit hard to explain but when I see a show the minute I see a character that I like, whether be bad or good, I would like to see him how would he react to someone whose the complete opposite of what he is and what he thinks of the OC. Plus I read other writers fanfics and see how the relationship of the character and OC/Reader develop. It takes time to find what kind of style of writing I feel is best until I finally know what to write. I dont know if that was helpful to you or not.

Also try something that no writer has ever considered doing. I may be wrong but I haven't seen many of these stories yet. There a very few writers that do this and I recently started this past year. I only know two writers that have done crossover and their stories were amazing. It doesn't hurt to try but it's your choice.
