Shay's play

Shay=Kumiko Yukio
Tokiya=Nozomu Akio

Third Person's POV

Once, in the far lands of Darendale, there was a traveler who went by the name of Nozomu Akio. He was a young boy who loved to travel, and wished to visit every place around the world. Currently, he was in a forest that wasn't really well known, and decided to see for himself how much of it has yet to be discovered.
In that forest, a girl was found in a little cabin singing.

All by myself, I see I'm in no misery
Why is it I am and am not free?
Secluded in the forest I rest,
Alone with no company

I have everything here
My music, all needed resources to live
But what is missing?
What is my heart longing for?

The girl's voice resounded in the forest, and Nozomu was entranced. He decided to follow the beautiful voice into the forest. The girl hummed for a bit, and words soon followed along with the notes her mouth produced.

I can plant all the potatoes I want
I can live on as I please
I can clean or leave the place as it is if need be
I am jolly I am happy

Nozomu quickened his pace, and soon came upon a small little home, where the voice and its music sounded the loudest. He approached the home, and pushes the door that was left ajar slowly, making sure it didn't creak. The voice kept singing:

I can be however I'd like to
Yes I stay true
But am I really on cloud nine? I can't help but question myself
The sound of music makes sure I'm sane

Nozomu crept up behind the girl who sang and played the piano. He smiled gently, and waited for her to keep singing.

But would it be the same?
Would it really be the same?

Would it be the same if I had another?
I shouldn't think like that, for who would bother
Who would dare find me where I live
What would I give
To see that happen

That's when Nozomu stepped in, and added his own words, his broad voice emulating the ravennette's voice.

I can make that happen
Just watch me try
Darling little melody
I have found you like a bee
And together we'll create the sweet honey

The girl stopped playing altogether, and looked behind her to meet the piercing blue eyes of her visitor. Her mouth opened and closed as though looking for air, and she stiffened like a board, her eyes not leaving the young lad's eyes.

The boy opened his mouth to say something, but was defeated by the girl who shouted "WHO ARE YOU?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

As she said this, she took a defensive stance, and grabbed the nearest object that could be used as a weapon- a pencil and glared at the boy, seeming to be a completely different girl. The boy rose an eyebrow, and the girl said, "You may not think much, but I know very well how to use a pencil and I'm not afraid to use it!!"

Nozomu rolled his eyes, and asked, "Yes, because I should be very scared of a pencil," the sarcasm dripping from his voice. The girl scoffed, and said, "Well it is a very sharp pencil, and if I hit correctly, I can hurt you and possibly kill you in one swoop. Don't try me."

Nozomu took a step forward, and lifted his hands to show that he meant no harm, and said, "I was passing through this forest and happened to hear your voice. With the curiosity biting at me, I decided to go find the source of the wonderful music, and your beautiful voice led me here."

Nozomu stepped closer, and saw the shorter girl tense up, and introduced himself. "As for who I am, I am simply a traveler who wanted to walk all over the world, including this forest."

"Well I wouldn't have thought that someone would actually come in this forest," the girl muttered to herself.

Having heard her words, Nozomu said, "Well you came here. I don't know your own reasons, but if you came here, it must have been for a possibly similar reason, or one that I could probably guess."

The girl looked up, and retorted, "No, you wouldn't!"

Nozomu looked at the girl who seemed to have tensed once more. They remained in that position, the harsh atmosphere thickening and becoming almost tangible. Nozomu kept a steady gaze on the unknown girl, and saw her then look away, and say, "I'm sorry for that outburst. I haven't really been around any people in a long time." Her words trailed near the end of her sentence into almost a whisper.

"It's alright, I kind of came barging in here, so your hostility with me isn't without a good reason," Nozomu assured her.

"So what's your name, stranger?," inquired the girl. "I'm Nozomu. Nozomu Akio," said the blue eyed man while pointing his thumb to his chest. "How about you miss?"

"Me? Well I'm just Kumiko Yukio, nothing special," the girl replied while crossing her feet.

"I'd say otherwise, with that beautiful voice you have and that sweet name," defended Nozomu, and flashed a smile at Kumiko. The brown eyed girl returned the smile. "Thank you," she said meekly.

"Well, I must be leaving-"

"WAIT!!," Kumiko called out to the boy, reaching out her hand and then retracting it. The young boy curled an eyebrow in curiosity, and amusement.

"Yes, milady?," the boy asked, urging her to continue.

She blushed and looked away, saying, "Why don't you stay for a bit, since, you know, being that you're a traveler, and how you might have been walking for a while-"

She was immediately hushed by Nozomu, who placed his slender finger over her soft lips, and slightly smirked, saying, "Is that an invitation?" Kumiko simply nodded hesitantly.

Nozomu chuckled, and said, "Well, let me take you up on that offer."

And so that was the start of their relationship. Ever since that day, Nozomu kept visiting Kumiko frequently. They grew closer, both with each other's company and through the magic of music.

(N=Nozomu & K=Kumiko XD)

N:Dadadadaaadada

K:Uuuwoooaaah

K:Back then we were simply strangers
I never knew it could come to this
This wonderful feeling I've been missing
As I reminisce

N:Oooo, we've been connected by the ribbons of fate
As I look in your eyes and you in mine
That, is what I call checkmate
As your heart and mine skate
To the rhythm of our song

N&K: As we dance to our song!!
Yeah dancing to our song
We know nothing can go wrong
Let our emotions tumble and rumble till dry
As we sing our song!

(Interlude :3)

N:It is just me and you (K:Me and you)
Me and you, I see you see that too
(K: Yes I dooooo)
Who knew that we'd meet
(K: Now that was quite a surprise~!!)
Yeah, you've got me thinking about you and I

K: Yes you and I have only come to the beginning
As we keep singing and bringing our future closer
It's no imagination
Just a peculiar fascination
Spending time with someone like you
It's got me craving for your company (N:Yes absolutely)
Call me a fool
But I'm sure you'll agree with me
That we're dancing to this song

N&K: As we dance to our song!
Yeah dancing to our song
We know nothing can go wrong
Let our emotions tumble and rumble till dry
As we sing our song!

Let us hope we don't bid each other adieu
Adieu, I never want to see you
But for now adieu to our past selves
For the present is now
And somehow, we must enjoy it.

With every visit Kumiko kept opening up to Nozomu, her true self baring its soft core for the young man to hold in his nimble hands. Her heart was being filled with an unknown feeling. Little did she know, that feeling was love. And little did she know, Nozomu was falling under a similar spell.

With time, Nozomu noticed that Kumiko would refuse going out of the forest, and he didn't think much about it until he grew the desire to ask her to be his, and ask her to join him on his destiny to cover the whole world.

He thought of the possibility of her refusing him, which almost had the power to dampen and make his heart become crestfallen, at least the thought of her rejection to his newfound feelings. But if she accepted them, he knew he'd be in cloud nine, and it wouldn't matter if he had to give up his dream to travel the rest of the world, since she's his new world.

As he went to go knock on her door, he heard a crash and a scream. He swung the door open, and dashed into the home and went to where he heard the crash come from, knowing the house so well after many visits.

He reached Kumiko's room, and without a single hesitation opened the door, and saw Kumiko on the floor crying, tears on her face. A vase that originally had scarlet roses given to Kumiko by Nozomu now lay shattered on the floor as well as petals dispersed and surrounding the girl who had a many cuts and obvious signs of blood. The girl was whimpering, and Nozomu hurried to her side, and noticed that the love of his life had her eyes closed.

She was still crying, and kept talking in a non cohesive manner.

"No....momma....don't leave.......I can't stay......no......everything.......red"

"Wake up Kumiko, everything's alright, Nozomu is here with you," the boy gently shook the smaller girl, trying to get her to wake up.

With a gasp, her eyes opened and she looked around her and took in her situation. Feeling the presence of another near her, she looked up to see a worried Nozomu. "Here, let me help you clean your wounds," he said, and she gave him a look wondering how she'd get up from the mess. "Please allow me to lift you up, Kumiko," Nozomu asked Kumiko, who blushed, and merely nodded.

Nozomu scooped the girl up in his arms, and took her to the bathroom, and the mysterious girl pointed out where the first aid kit could be found. Nozomu, who was in deep concentration, merely muttered a thanks and went to get the first aid kit after sitting the girl on top of the bathroom sink, which had a counter.

He hurried back with the kit, and took out some pliers to remove the excess glass still somewhat poking out of her legs. "Alright, I need you to bear with me. You can bite on this while I remove the shards of glass that are protruding out of your legs."

Nozomu gave Kumiko a cloth to bite on, and she proceeded to place the cloth in her mouth and shut her eyes closed, bracing herself for the upcoming pain.

As carefully as he could, the dark haired boy removed the shards of glass from her legs, and noticed more blood seeping out of her body. He flinched everytime he saw Kumiko wince. He really didn't want to hurt her.

Quickly, he managed to finish patching her up, and by the time he finished, the sweet girl was practically a mummy (Author-chan: *shivers at thought of mummy*).

"Would you please tell me what happened?"

Kumiko was silent, and Nozomu took a deep breath. "Please, Kumiko, you can trust me, I'm here for you, " Nozomu pleaded. The girl would still not budge.

"I don't know if I can tell you," Kumiko said, her voice slightly shaking. Nozomu wondered if by chance through the language of music he'd be able to get to Kumiko and show her how he is truly there for her.

Don't shy from my touch
Just watch
I'll show you the meaning of trust

Oh little harmony, let your melody shine, come show the world how divine, you are~

"But if it's hard enough to tell you, then I'd have no chance against the world," Kumiko sang in defiance.

Don't shy from the world little girl
There's so much for your curiosity to see~
Let me show you the world, and satisfy your wonders~

Nozomu got closer to the bandaged girl, who retreated farther into the counter of the sink.

My, my, my, why do you shy from my touch?
Is it me that you don't trust
Come come, lean on me
Let me sing you this song filled with love and harmony~

My little harp, play and sing your song
Let your voice fly out
Don't be afraid just take my hand
Let me show you the wonderful land of love and harmony

Kumiko looked at Nozomu, finally moved with his words, and let her tears fall freely once more and delapidated.

The boy embraced the girl and tried to the best of his abilities to comfort her. They were in an embrace for what seemed like neverending minutes, until the sobs dwindled and diminished.

"I've been having nightmares," Kumiko started explaining. "These nightmares occur every time I fall asleep, and are the reason I'm even secluded from the world and from civilization." She paused and looked at the dark haired boy who was attentive and gave her a look that told her to continue.

"W-Well, before I was all alone, I was happily living with my mother and father. We did no one any harm and we loved being around people. But, it was on one day that everything was red. I came into my own home, and saw my dad dead on the floor in a pool of his own blood. My mom saw me, and grabbed hold of me and into the closet we went. I was about to scream until my mom covered my mouth, and silenced me. We looked through the crack of the closet doors and saw these masked men coming down the stairs of our home. My mom had told me that she'd use herself as a decoy so I could run away and escape, a-and I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't heed my words. She only wanted me to remember that she loves me and will always be watching m-me with daddy up above, and gave me her pendant that was in the shape of the treble clef, and hugged me. I didn't want to let go, but the men were still looking for us it seems, and she pushed herself at them and gave me the signal to run. I did as she told me, and I immediately seeked this house in the forest that she told me about when she was with my dad. I looked back before I left my home completely, and saw my mother smile at me with tears in her eyes before she was stabbed in the back. I was s-still a little kid, and I never wanted t-to go back to such a cruel world."

"Ever since that, I kept to myself, and have been hesitant on trusting anyone, and developed these nightmares. I try not to think too much about it, but it still comes haunting me, saying that I should have done something," Kumiko breathed, and cried once more into the chest of Nozomu. Nozomu didn't realize he was crying until he felt his cheeks wet, and rubbed Kumiko's back, in hopes of comforting her. "Shhh, Kumiko, you can't blame yourself for that situation. I don't think I can fully understand the extent of the pain you must still feel now, and I can only say that I vow to protect you from any harm, and be the one to shield you from them, and comfort you in your weakest times."

Kumiko sniffed, and looked up and asked, "Why would you go to such lengths?"

"Because I care about you, and I love you Kumiko," Nozomu stated bravely.

Kumiko's breath hitched, and her sobs dwindled as she looked flabbergasted at the boy who was smiling down at her. A blush colored her face and Nozomu was leaning down, and their lips almost met, until Kumiko looks away, too embarrassed to.

Nozomu frowned, and asked the girl in a sad voice, "Do you love me back? I understand if you don't--"

"I DO!," the girl shouted aloud, and blushed immensely, and added "B-But I-I'm just still astonished that you actually like, no, love me."

Nozomu relaxes his shoulders and smiles, and hugs Kumiko tenderly.

"You are very adorable, you know that?"

"...T-Thank you," Kumiko replied.

It was at that moment that the pair acknowledged each other's love and grew closer than ever. Now that Nozomu was there for Kumiko, the girl's nightmares were fading, and she was ever so happy to have someone like Nozomu.

Time past, and Nozomu asked Kumiko to go travel the world with him, and Kumiko, after thinking about it, agreed, and the pair soon traveled the whole world together, and Kumiko was no longer secluded from civilization. And, by chance, she met a familiar looking woman one day in their travels who made eye contact with Kumiko, and had whispered her name out and Kumiko realized that it was indeed her mother, and she finally became reunited with her mother as well for a while, until she left once more with Nozomu to travel farther on, and now, with the blessing of her mother and the promise to keep in touch.

(Prepare for le cliché end) And they lived happily ever after~.

Heyyos, so it's been a few days, but I've finally made the play Tokiya and Shay did in front of the class!!! Boy, it was just like a mini story hehe. I hope you like it, and now one to the next play! But it might take longer since I'm going into AP exams, so probably expect a special chapter to be written up instead of the play immediately hehe. Till next time~!
