Sebastian Vettel

To the lovely VettelFerrari in hopes that this helps to cheer you up! ;) it's gonna be a long one so I hope you don't mind....sorry

You pressed the booklet of schedules to your lips as your eyes grew wide, plastered to the big screen in suspense as the racers finished the last five laps. Sebastian had been worried about this particular race for weeks now and it wasn't until he sat in the car did he have a smile on his face. You closed your eyes in a silent prayer, hoping he will at least come out in the top three.

You opened your eyes just in time to see them enter the last lap. Your chest thumped and your blood rushed in your ears. You held your breath and closed one eye, biting your lip. The voices of the commentators spoke fast and got higher and higher with excitement, only adding to your eagerness to see the race end.

But as the cars turned the last bend your booklet fell from your face and you took steps closer to the screen, a smile growing on your lips. Sebastian's car pulled forward and at the very last second, he crossed the finish line. The conference room erupted in celebration, the commentators shouted in happiness. You pumped your fists and squealed, dancing around in a little circle.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! YES!!!" You chanted, your body shaking with excitement. "Yes, Sebastian, yes!"

Suddenly you remembered you had a job and Press Officers don't get to celebrate, at least not until after all the press meetings and it's time to plan for the next one. But you were confident you could spare a few seconds to tell the Speedster 'I told you so'.

Gathering your things, you placed your phone to your ear and started calling for the camera crews as you looked at the long list of interviewers and their lame reasons to jockey for position to see the now winner first.

As you neared the driver's track entrance, you passed crowds of people, pushing forward to see Sebastian in all his sweaty glory, smiling like a fool. You couldn't help but smile too, your heart starting to hammer again. You took a moment to just watch him walk away from his car and take his trophy, his coaches and main team surrounding him with smiles and cheers. He looked so happy and you couldn't be prouder.

After a few minutes of pictures and fan signings, you felt your phone buzz in your pocket.  You closed your eyes and groaned. You didn't want to pull him away from his fans and his celebrating but duty calls.

You pushed through the last line of people and nodded to the surrounding crew to move him alone before looking at Sebastian. He didn't meet your gaze as he was ushered out to go shower and change for the first of many interviews. You checked your watch and grinned. He may have more time to meet with fans afterward. If things went well.

Your phone rang and you answered, hearing the event coordinator's frustrated voice on the other end.

"Calm down Kevin, what is going on?"

"Miss Devins may have forgotten to book us our hotels for this week."

You shook your head, smiling ruefully. "I checked, she did."

"Not for the WHOLE week. (Y/n) some of us are going to have issues-"

You shook my head again though you knew he couldn't see you. "Kevin I can't deal with that right now. I have nearly seven interviews to get our boy to and you want me to worry about the sleeping arrangments? Talk to William, he covers the spending, I'm sure he would know for sure."

Then you hung up. As much as you loved your job you sometimes hated that you were good at it because that meant everyone else came to you to make sure things got done. You felt touched and honored but you weren't about to make yourself sick about which of the wheel replacement sents the crew should bring, depending on the weather.

You found the filming crew and started bossing them around, your favorite part of your job really. Other than bossing around Sebastian himself. However, your feet were already starting to hurt and it wasn't even three o'clock yet. The first press crew arrived and you took a deep breath ready for the long hours of question answering and official picture taking.

Suddenly the group stood and all started speaking at once, pictures flashing, and chairs scraping. Sebastian walked in, waving and smiling to the people. You stood off to the side, your blue tooth in your ear going off with the crew's filming director and your hands full of important papers and press information.

Sebastian caught your eye, making you smile. His smile grew and his eyes rolled, his hips swaying in a very vivacious style that only you could pick up. Your smile grew as your shared inside joke was welcomingly received. He winked before he sat down, leaving you to roll your eyes and step forward, ready to pick who was to ask the questions first. Though you may love your job, you missed the fact you weren't able to speak to Sebastian until well after the race and its proceeding meetings. But those little moments of shared looks made it all worth the wait to see him later on.

~~~~~
Sebastian rolled his shoulders as he stretched from his seat, his eyes closing as he groaned against his sore muscles. He peaked an eye open to spot you talking with the camera crew, looking all official and boss like. He couldn't help but smile slightly finding this view of you quite, pleasant. You then turned and caught his eyes, giving him a 'what?' look. He just shrugged his shoulders and slipped on a black coat, a small backpack of personal items following close behind.
You left the crew and walked up to Sebastian, your eyes appraising him with unabashed pride. Sebastian laughed, rubbing the back of his neck as he looked anywhere but at you.
"Alright, alright. Go head already and say it."
You feigned a confused expression. "Whatever are you talking about?"
Sebastian looked at you from the corner of his eyes, the two of you starting down the large rampway where the cars came into the arena. At the end, a car was waiting to take you and him to the hotels to finally get some well deserved and much-needed rest.
"You do realize I knew I was going to win the whole time."
You bumped his shoulder. "Riiiight. Would you like me to play back the video of you screaming into my travel pillow?"
Sebastian turned to you, his eyes wide and his mouth agape. "I did not scream into anyone's pillow. I was...meditating."
You laughed shaking your head. "You have a very odd way of finding nirvana."
"Yeah, haven't you heard? It's a new technique from the great monks in the Alps called SITAP. It's quite the rage and extremely effective."
You smirked up at him, raising a brow. That look made him want to step closer and  "Oh is it now? And what does SITAP happen to stand for?"
But before Sebastian could answer three men came up and eagerly asked for autographs. You looked at them with surprise, no doubt wondering how in the world they got in. Sebastian looked to you before answering them, his gaze questioning. You shrugged a shoulder and nodded.
"Might as well boost that ego of yours to help you with your SITAP ritual later," you whispered to him as the men readily came forward, already handing Sebastian a pen and objects to sign.
Sebastian stuck his tongue out a bit and shook his head slightly. He took one of the pens and gave you a 'we are not done with that conversation' look. You hugged your things to your chest and smirked, watching him make those fans' day.
Once they left, Sebastian stuffed his hands in his pockets and nudged you with his shoulder. "So, any ideas what SITAP stands for?"
You pretended to think as you two began walking again, your heels clicking on the slick floor. "Stupid Imp Thinks About Pizza?"
Sebastian just stared at you his face going limp. "How dare you. I happen to be a smart imp, especially when I think about pizza."
Your stomach growled right then and you both laughed. You closed your eyes and hummed. "Mmm, pizza does sound good right now."
The two of you made it to the awaiting car. Sebastian stepped forward and opened the door for you. "Perhaps we can grab some at the hotel. Have it ordered in."
You nodded to him. "As you wish. I shan't complain."
Sebastian was about to shut the door but leaned forward instead, whispering as he glanced at the driver. "Oh and SITAP...It really means,
"Scream Into A Pillow," you both said at the same time.
Sebastian blinked as you smirked. You leaned closer, your faces nearly touching.
"You do know "into" is one word, right?" You whispered back.
Sebastian suddenly had an urge to kiss you. He glanced at your lips then cleared his throat, standing back, nodding. "Yeah, right. I knew that."
Then he closed the door, running a hand through his hair. Taking a second to regain his breath and clear his head of your beautiful, kissable lips, he entered on the other end of the car, sliding in next to you.
He wasn't sure when he started having feelings for you but he sure knew the exact moment he knew he loved you. It was last race season when you had fallen ill with the flu. He wasn't able to think clearly, let alone function, worried about you and the press conferences you were so good at handling. But it was when you were admitted to the hospital for IV fluids he found himself rushing to your room to see you pale, weak, and all but dead.
You didn't know it, but he sat with you for hours as you laid there sleeping, the beeping of our monitors the only sound between you. He held your hand and stroked back your hair, wanting more than anything, even the trophy of his last win, to take away your pain and help you feel better.
So when you were allowed to go home, Sebastian made it his duty to make sure you were alright and taken care of. You hated it or at least acted as though you did, but he knew you secretly appreciated it. You looked horrible; your hair greasy and everywhere, clothes all wrinkled and three days slept in, your face void of makeup, and your teeth hardly brushed. But he had never been more attracted to you.
Once you were all better and had no need for his nagging, Sebastian found himself missing taking care of you. He missed teasing you and seeing you smile without the burden of work. He missed being needed by you. He missed...you.
But he kept that to himself not wanting to lose what wonderful friendship you two had already, for fear of losing it had you not felt the same way about him. Sebastian was pulled out of his thoughts by the car slowing down, coming up to the hotel. He looked over at you to find you nearly asleep, your head bobbing against the window.
Without waking you, Sebastian leaned forward and asked the driver to go pick up some pizza somewhere, slipping him a nice fold of bills. Then he turned to you, smiling softly. Ever so gently, Sebastian reached forward and brushed hair from your face that had fallen loose from your high ponytail. You sturred, taking a deep breath as you opened your eyes and sat up.
"Mmm, are we here?" You whispered, looking around.
Sebastian laughed. "Sure are. You think you can walk to the room?"
You took your papers and smacked his arms. "I'm tired, not paralyzed."
Sebastian laughed again and got out of the car, opening your door for you, bowing playfully. "As you wish my lady."
"Oh shut up."
The two of you walked into the hotel and came up to the front desk. Sebastian smiled to the lady and nodded to you. "We are looking for two rooms. One for (L/n) and the other for Vettel."
The woman looked unimpressed as she glanced between the two of you then to her computer. "Sorry, sir, but we only have a room for Vettel. Nothing for (L/n)."
~~~~~~

You closed your eyes and let out a slow breath. You stared at your papers in your hands then groaned. You felt Sebastian look at you but you didn't say anything. Instead, you reached down and slid your heels off, hooking your fingers on the back straps to let them hang from your hand. Then you looked at the woman, your brows raised and your eyes stern.

"You must be mistaken we have-"

"Yes yes, I spoke to a Kevin for a very long time about this. But all we have is that room. There is another hotel across the street that will have room but we are booked."

You looked around the lobby. There were two people at the coffee machine, a kid at the sweets bar and a mother and her baby coming out of a bathroom.

"Some crowd," Sebastian whispered under his breath.

You looked up at him. "This is ridiculous. I thought we had all this figured out." You closed your eyes and let out another breath. "I should have handled it when Kevin came to me about it."

Sebastian placed a hand on your shoulder, rubbing it gently with his thumb. "I don't see this as a huge issue. Why not come stay with me. I always get a room with two beds. Might as well put it to use."

You raised your brows and looked at the woman before looking back at him, nearly in shock. "Um...no," you whispered loudly. "Are you kidding me? Do you know what would happen if someone saw us and thought-and thought..."

Sebastian looked down at you and crossed his arms, smirking. "And thought what exactly?"

You gapped like a fish before shaking your head. "No, we can just go get another room n the other hotel."

Sebastian leaned down and pointed to the hotel lights nearly five blocks away. "That one over there?"

You groaned. "Seb...I get the couch."

Sebastian stood up tall and took the key from the lady and waved it in the air as he walked backward to the elevators. "Mmm, not going to happen. Remember, two beds."

You rolled your eyes as you caught up with him. "Honestly, I just want to not be moving anymore. The floor sounds good at this point."

Sebastian threw an arm around your shoulders, plucking your shoes out of your hand with his other hand. "Kevin came to you about the rooming issue?"

You subconsciously leaned into his body as you nodded, yawning. "Ahhhh...mmm yeah. He did. I brushed it off, I figured the new girl could handle it. But," you shrugged, "I guess not."

You could feel Sebastaina nod. "I'll be sure to have another department set up just for booking hotels."

You snorted. "It makes me sick how much power you have sometimes."

"Hey," he called as the doors opened and you walked out, relieved to not have your heels on, "I don't abuse it at least. I use it for good things."

You turned to him and raised a brow again. "Mmmhmm. Like ordering pizza?"

Sebastian stopped mid-stride, your shoes dangling in his large hands. "You knew about that."

You shrugged a shoulder as you took the key from his hand and turned to unlock the room door. "I do now."

You opened the door and flicked on the light and instantly your shoulders sagged. Sebastian walked over and took the papers from your arms and pushed open the door the rest of the way so he could see inside.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

You didn't say anything and just pointed. Inside was a nice large bathroom, two closets, an L shaped couch, two chairs, a desk, a minibar, Sebastian's luggage and yours....and exactly one full sized bed. You leaned against the door frame and pulled at the tie holding your hair up, letting your hair fall messily around your face.

"Couch," you called as you walked like a zombie over to it, flopping face first onto the cushions.

You could hear Sebastian laugh. "Feel free to practice the SITAP."

You would have smiled had your face not been mushed into the cushions. So, shamelessly, you creamed into them. Once your breath was all spent you lifted your face and propped yourself up on your arms, resting your face in your hands.

"Why me?" You asked quietly.

Softly, you felt hands slide under your arms and help you to sand. You looked at Sebastian as he brushed the hair out of your face. "Go ahead and change. The pizza is here."

You just nodded. But before he left the room you called out to him. "I'm stealing one of your blankets."

Without missing a beat he called over his shoulder. "Or we can just share it."

"SHHHHH!" Your eyes grew wide. "That door is open you idiot."

The last thing you heard was his laughter and the door close leaving you alone to do more SITAP and change into comfortable clothes. You didn't even want to think about how in the world your stuff ended up here too.

~~~~~~
Sebastian took a deep breath before he opened the room door, his hands full of two large pizzas, two two-liter bottles of your favorite dring hanging in a bag on his elbow. He felt so bad for you. You were exhausted and the last thing you wanted to deal with was sleeping arrangments. But at the same time, he didn't want you to have a terrible night's sleep...he just hoped his persistence to help you wouldn't end with him getting slapped in the face.
Slowly he opened the door, only to find you fast asleep on the couch. Carefully he placed the drinks and pizza on the table, making a mental note to put them in the fridge before he, too, clocked out for the night.
After changing into his pjs, Sebastian went over to check on you. He smiled to himself seeing you all curled up in a ball, your hair splayed out around you, your mouth slightly open and a cute little cooing sound escaping it with every exhale. Gently, Sebastian reached down and took the blanket, pulling it closer up your body, tucking you in slowly. You hmmed and turned, taking a deep breath and got comfortable again, tugging a pillow to your chest like a stuffed animal.
Shaking his head, Sebastian walked away from you, positive he could watch you sleep all night if he could. But that would be slightly creepy. But only slightly since he had done it once before. Sighing, Sebastian put awa the food, not hungry anymore then got into his bed. He fell asleep quicker than he predicted, his last coherent thought being of you and wondering if you were sleeping alright.
~~~~~~~~

Sebastian wasn't sure how long he slept or what time it was but when he felt his bed shaking he shot up, wide awake. His eyes were wide as he tried to make sense of what was going on and where he was. Suddenly your smell was very close to him as the bed dipped the sound of rustling sheets making him turn to the right.

"(Y/n)?"

He heard you curse under your breath. "Sorry Seb, I didn't mean to wake you."

The hairs on his arms and the back of his neck stood on end at hearing you on the verge of tears. "(Y/n), are you alright? What's wrong?"

You sniffed a few times as you joined him on the bed, tugging the blanket around you tightly as you laned against the backboard. "It's stupid. I just needed to make sure you were...alright."

Sebastian reached out and found you, pulling you closer to him. "I'm here. I'm alright."

You didn't say anything though he assumed you had nodded seeing as how the bed shook slightly. "Know. Like I said. It's stupid."

Sebastian couldn't help but grin, glad you couldn't see him. "Nothing you say or think could every be stupid. Especially if it makes you cry."

At that you started sniffing, your body shaking enough for Sebastian to tell. Silently, and in utter darkness, he gently tugged you closer, grabbing the blanket and placing it over the both of you as he pulled you down on the bed next to him, tucking you against his body. Not hearing you protest worried him more though he should have been enjoying your closeness.

"(Y/n)," Sebastian whispered as he found your temple and pressed a light kiss to it, "tell me, what is going on in that pretty head of yours."

He could feel you take a deep breath before answering, your voice quiet he nearly missed it. "I had a dream you were in one of your races and one but...but you crashed and...and."

Sebastian understood. He hugged you closer and reached up to stroke your arm. "I'm not gone."

"I know," you replied, your voice thick with emotion, "But one day, out of the blue, you could be."

"As could any of us. You could choke on a bite of pizza tomorrow and keel over. Kevin could fall down the stairs and break his neck. The front desk lady could smile and the whole world would implode."

You giggled a tiny bit, making Sebastian smile. "I did never get some of that pizza."

"It's in the fridge, waiting just for you."

"But we have work tomorrow."

"Not if I don't say so."

"You may be a Grand Prix winner but you don't control the rest of the racing industry, no matter how much you think it up in that head of yours."

Sebastian smiled wider. "Yes but...what if I told you the guy who was in charge of booking the track picked the wrong day and it's not tomorrow but the day after."

He felt you sit up slightly, the light from the window and the city behind it casting a very faint yellow glow on your face now that his eyes were used to the dark. Your hair framed your face and your lashes glistened with drying tears.

"Then I say we are insanely lucky we have a lot of incompetent planners in this business."

Sebastian reached up and stroked your cheek, nodding. "Yes, extremely lucky."

Suddenly your eyes drew distant and you pulled away, but Sebastian pulled you back down on the bed next to him. Your head rested on his arm as he looked at you, your faces inches apart.

You shook your head. "Seb...I...I...Holy Moses, I don't know what I am doing."

"You are sleeping next to me in a soft hotel bed because there is only one bed and two people and you had a nightmare so I'm comforting you." He reached up and turned your face to look at him, not sure if you could see him at all. "Nothing more."

You just looked at him, your eyes flickering to his lips. His eyes glanced at yours but he didn't move.

"Unless that's not what you want," he whispered.

"We could die at any second," you replied breathlessly.

Sebastian smirked. "Then not a moment should be wasted."

A corner of your lips lifted. "Then perhaps we should do something with this moment."

"Do you have any suggestions."

"One," your smirk grew as you moved your face closer, your noses nearly touching, "I was thinking maybe we should open up that pizza now because-"

But Sebastian didn't let you finish. He couldn't take it anymore. With one swift and sure movement, he pressed his lips against yours, pleased to have taken you by surprise. But then it was his turn to be surprised when instead of you rearing back to rebuke him, you responded in kind, reaching up with one hand to cup his cheek.

Sebastian closed his eyes and kissed you once more before pulling away, but only slightly. Your foreheads rested against each other's as he smiled wide.

"Do you have any idea how long I have wanted to do that?" He whispered, moving his arm from under your head to tugging you closer to his chest.

You reached up and placed a hand on his chest the other reaching across yourself to lace fingers with his hand that wrapped around your shoulders. "If it is anything like how I felt, then yes, yes I do."

Sebastian didn't open his eyes as he found your lips again, pecking your lips a few times before burying his face in your neck and hair. "I promise the moment I feel even the least bit off about a race or my car, I will not race."

You nodded. "And I promise to chew my pizza really really well."

Sebastian chuckled. He pressed a kiss to your cheek. "Perfect. Now try to get some sleep. We have a free day tomorrow so no alarms."

You snuggled deeper into the covers, letting out a content sigh. "No alarms. That sounds nice."

With one last kiss to your temple, Sebastian let himself relax his breathing matching yours as he drifted off. His smile never left his face as sleep took him, his heart full and his mind dreaming of taking care of you forever and always, nightmares or not. And he knew just as well that you would be there for him every step of the way.
