3 Years Later

To say Ichika's life got a bit simpler, you would be right. However, it was quite a boring life to say the least. After he finished up his online schooling, he got himself a job at the supermarket in town with Derek. While it was great that he didn't have to be pushed around and pressured on being an IS Unit, he still missed having some adventure in his life from time to time. Once he finished packing the shelves, he went back to the checkout section where Derek was working. Their shift was nearly done, and they couldn't wait to go home and hopefully relax.

"Only 10 more minutes" Ichika exclaimed.

"Yup" Derek agreed as he finished packing a woman's groceries.

After the time had ended, the two made their way back to their house. Upon returning, they were met with Sarah and a bag of fresh pastries from the bakery she worked at. The two were quite peckish, but they decided to eat after they had showered. Once they did that, the trio enjoyed a nice baked pastry for a snack. While they were eating, Derek looked through the mail he picked up, he noticed one that looked quite strange. On the front of the letter, it said, 'To the three residents of this household'.

"This is strange, how could this person know there are three of us living here?" Derek questioned.

"Who knows, it could be a coincidence" Ichika suggested.

"Let's see what's inside" Sarah exclaimed. Opening the letter, Derek read it while the others listened.

Dear residents,

After years of being away for a long time, it is time for the next step to happen. I am in need of your help, so I put instructions on how to find me. Once you have arrived, I will explain everything to you all. I have been keeping track of you three to ensure your safety. I don't know what will happen next, but you must trust me. I will see you tomorrow.

"Strange" Derek commented.

"Only way to find out is to follow these instructions" Sarah stated.

"Alright, good thing we don't have to go to work for a while" Ichika said.

The Next Day

As per usual, the trio followed the instructions and went out to find the location of this person. They took a bus to the far end of town and made it to the deep forest that very few go to. It was said that this area used to be used as a military ground in the past, so many people avoid it in case there were traps. They went very deep into the forest, and upon finding the right location, they came across a large facility that looked like a laboratory. The wide mechanical doors opened to reveal a man with black hair, glasses, and a beard, wearing a lab coat and holding a cane. To say Derek was shocked would be an understatement.

"Dad?" He asked.

"In the flesh" the man said, walking over to his sun and pulling him into a hug, "I've missed you, you've grown into a fine young man"

"So, this is what you've been doing" Derek commented, "It looks important"

"Hello Sarah, it has been a while" the man greeted, "And you must be Ichika, my name is Akira Yamauchi"

"Hi there" Ichika replied.

"Come in, I have a lot of explaining to do" Akira told them.

Upon entering the laboratory, they saw a lot of paper stacks, books, research material, and so forth. However, the most eye-catching thing was the giant mechanical structure that looked like Dr. Octopus' machine in Spiderman 2, only bigger. The four sat down at a table as Akira's assistant, Lucas, made them some tea.

"Derek, I know I have been gone for 6 years, but I am surprised you don't hold any grudge" Akira commented.

"Well, you told me that it was very important and that you would be gone for a long time when I was younger" Derek explained, "So I thought having it take a long time would be necessary"

"Haha, you were always the smart one" Akira laughed.

"So, what exactly is it that we are needed?" Ichika asked.

"Well then, I'll explain, many years ago, I was researching the theory of the Multiverse, in which there are millions of different universes out there" Akira explained, "Each of them having different paths, every single one having their own version of the same people"

"Wow" The trio exclaimed.

"However, one of my colleagues wanted to combine all the universes together and grew mad with power, we tried to get rid of him, but he ran off" Akira added, "I learned about his lab six years ago and I wanted to stop him once and for all, so I spent those years trying to build this machine"

"What does it do?" Sarah asked.

"This is the Multidimensional Transporter, I made it so that it can send you over to another universe in the Multiverse, I am quite happy with the results" Akira answered, "However, I am getting to the age where I am not in the best shape to be running around, that's why I recruited you three"

"Wait, but I just only moved in three years ago" Ichika pointed out.

"Well, I did assume that it would be just Derek and Sarah, but when Lucas told me that you moved in, I decided that you would be a helpful person from what I had researched" Akira replied, "I'm sorry I had to do this"

"It's fine" Ichika stated, "I don't mind"

"Right, let me explain to you everything" Akira said, getting up.

He walked over to the large table and brought a box that had four gauntlet like gadgets in them. He explained that these are Multidimensional Utility gloves, they can be used to communicate between universes, scan their alternate selves for usage, bring them back to their own universe, and call upon their alternate selves. When asked about how they can call them up if they are busy, Akira explained that the machine can form telepathic signals which allow them to speak to their alternate selves in the other universe telepathically. Once more, the screen on the glove shows what universes had been visited and who has been scanned. Scanning is manual, so they had to choose their choices carefully.

"Alright, step onto the transporter and we'll take you three two the first dimension, U1" Akira told them, "This will be a bumpy ride"

Once he pulled the lever, electricity ran through the machine, and it started forming energy around the trio. They were blasted and disappeared without a trace. Akira was hoping that they had survived since Lucas tested it beforehand and is all well and good. With the trio, they were flying around in a psychedelic stream of colours that were all wavy and bright. They were screaming as their bodies were being flown around the area.

In U1

After about a minute, the trio landed onto ground and looked around to find that they were in a different place. Getting up and dusting themselves off, they wondered what this new place was. Luckily, there was a random person that so happened to know their counterparts.

"Hey Derek" he greeted.

"Hi, how are you doing" Derek replied.

"Thanks for the help, now I feel better now" the man thanked.

"No problem" Derek said, "By the way, remind me what I did, I have had a lot of work to do, and I am not sure what I did for you"

"Oh, you built me a mechanical prosthetic leg" the man told him before leaving.

"Alright, we better look for our alternate selves" Sarah exclaimed.

The trio then walked around town to look for their universal counterparts. And if coincidences couldn't be more prominent, they managed to walk into the alternate Derek. He obviously had the same physical features as Derek; however, he didn't wear glasses, and he also wore what looked like workshop attire. (All alternate counterparts will have a number next to their name corresponding to the universe number)

"Strange, I didn't think I would see a doppelganger" Derek1 commented.

"Hi, I am actually from another universe" Derek explained.

"Come again?" Derek1 questioned.

After explaining to him the current situation, he took everyone to the workshop in which they met Ichika1 and Sarah1. They too were also dressed up in workshop attire. They had a chat and they learned that the group were mechanical engineers, and they love to invent many types of gadgets and machines. Looking around the workshop, they had a lot of different advanced technology, and they also mentioned a storage unit they own with stronger machinery. While they were having a chat, another person walked into the workshop. Ichika was surprised to see an alternate Houki.

"What the, am I seeing double?" Houki1 questioned.

"No, they are from an alternate universe, and they seek our help in stopping a threat towards all the universes" Ichika1 explained.

"I see, is there an alternate me?" Houki1 asked.

"There is, she's just not with us" Ichika answered, "And she is not involved because this just only started, I don't know if she will be though"

"Oh, ok" Houki1 replied.

"So, you scan us and then we can go to your universe, right?" Derek1 asked.

"Correct" Derek replied.

"Alright, let's go" Sarah1 cheered.

After the three were scanned, the trio returned to their dimension to test out how it works. They started with telepathic communication which worked surprisingly well. Next, they tried summoning them into their universe. The trio held their hand out and a portal formed in front of each person. All three of the alternate selves emerged from them and it was a success.

"Great, it works, now you three have to recruit more people to help" Akira cheered.

"Right" The trio agreed.

"By the way, who is this guy that will cause this threat?" Sarah asked.

"Oh, his name is Peter Harrison" Akira answered.

At IS Academy

"Ok, we have been informed that there is a potential threat, and we will be taking initiative in the next week" Chifuyu explained.

"What threat is this?" Maya asked.

"Someone by the name of Peter Harrison" Chifuyu answered.
