Kagami, is that you? I thought as I drew closer to the sounds. I continue for a while until I see her and smile. I realize she is not alone.

   "Who is this?" I ask.

   "Felix?" Kagami asks. "Yes, I was following you in here, and by the looks of it you have company," I answer.

     "Miss Kagami, I am scared," The little boy says.

      "It is okay, Mario, I have got you," She says.

     I reach out my hand. Kagami takes it. I notice that the boy is holding onto her. I can tell he is terrified. He must not be older than what? Six, or seven.

    I don't ask about the child. I  lead Kagami out of there.

    Slowly, I assist her and Mario towards the entrance.

 I hear something that sounds like it shaking. Oh, no I better get them out fast.

  The thing is about to close with all of us inside. Kagami let go of Mario. He had fallen asleep. I wrapped a rope around his waist, gently helping to push him out to the surface.

      I felt Kagami hold my hand and smile. I blushed as we continued on the way out.

     Kagami tripped before we could cross the line that led out of there. I saw her tears. I was not about to leave without her.  I picked her up and she held onto my neck. I exited with her in my arms.

    Once outside, I set her gently beside the path. I saw Mario who looked afraid now that he was awake. I removed the rope and caught hold of him before he could fall back into the mine.

         I brought him to Kagami. "Here, I believe this is yours," I say.

         "He wandered off from the group, and I had to make sure he was safe," Kagami says. I see her face cringe. "Your ankle," I say.

         I pick her up again and take her back to my place. I help put a splint on her ankle and prop it up with a pillow. I make sure to put ice packs around it.

     "Mario?" She asks. I can tell she worries about the lad. "He is fine, I called the school you told me you worked for and the principal came and got him and took him back to the rest of the group."

    "Awe, thank goodness," Kagami says.

   "Here, this will help with the pain," I say as I give her some Advil. Kagami takes it.

       That evening, I bring my chair closer to the sofa and watch a movie with her. I made sure there were sandwiches, popcorn, and sodas. I hand a sandwich over to Kagami.  I sigh. She is even more beautiful than I remember, I thought. 

      I eat a sandwich, enjoying the company of her. After the movie, Kagami falls asleep. I don't mind. I kiss her cheek, "Rest well, Kagami." 

     I prepare for bed and get some rest.

The next day, I see she is awake. She looks around in confusion.

"Oh, you are awake," I say.

"Yes," she says.

   I give her some of the breakfast I have prepared and she eats. "Thanks, Felix," She says.

   "For what?" I ask. "For helping Mario and me out of the mine. I never noticed before, but you are cute,"  She says. "You are the cute one," I say. "Oh, wanna bet?" She says. "Y-yes," I stutter.

     Kagami grabs my collar pulling me to her level, and kisses me. I kiss her. "What was that for?" I ask.

    "Silly, Felix. You know I like you," She says. "I like you too, K-Kagami," There, I go stuttering again.

        I ask her to be my girlfriend and she agrees. "When I am all recovered, I am all yours," She says. I blush. She does too. "All yours?" I ask. "Well, yes, I am your girl." She says and plays with my hair.

   I lay my head on her and fall asleep. 

Six months later, Kagami has all recovered. Her ankle is much better. The doctors seemed impressed.

   "Well, it is all thanks to my boyfriend, Felix Graham Da Vanily," Kagami says. She hugs me.

   I hug her. "She is a keeper," The young doctor says. "I know she is,"  I say, to him. "Kagami, come on we have a date," I tell her. "yes, that is right we do, boyfriend, " Kagami says.

 The two of us enjoy our date. Afterward, Kagami says, "You know,I am glad you found me in the mine all those months ago."  "Oh, why is that exactly?" I say teasing her. "Well, because now you and I are together, Felix." She says.  Kagami kisses me and I kiss her.

   I know it is only the first date, but who cares? We love each other and so we kiss.

   Deal with it.
