Don't Let Him Part 1 two-shot story by Summer Cheng@SummerCheng37

Description

Adrien stands outside on the sidewalk. He sighs as he sees her look out her bedroom window. How did it get to be this way? The blue bell-eyed girl is the one he likes, no loves. The trouble is her father.

   Adrien's POV:

I left my house and stood on the sidewalk, hoping to get her attention. Just as I was about to throw a rock to catch her eye, I noticed the blinds of her upstairs bedroom open and smiled as she looked out at me. I smiled back as she waved. I sighed, feeling my love for her grow stronger.

I wasn't sure when, but I had fallen in love with the blue bell-eyed beauty who lived in the house across the road.

The issue is with her father, Tom Dupain-Cheng, who, for some reason, has decided not to trust me.  I wasn't sure what I had done to get on his bad side. I made sure that I dressed modestly, combed my hair, ate all my vegetables, and minded my manners. What was his problem?

"Marinette," I called out to her. "Yes, Adrien?" She answered from her window. The same one that was now opened. "How old are you?" I asked. "Me, why, I am nearly nineteen," Marinette answered. "I am twenty," I said. "Twenty, why Adrien, that is quite a fine age for such a gentleman," She said. "I am glad you approve of me," I said. "Approve you, what is not to approve?  I know you and I are destined to be, you and I," She said.

"Tell that to your father then, will you?" I  asked. "Fine, I will speak to him about us, soon," She said. I smiled, but worried because I wasn't sure her father would approve of us. I know he did not like me.  "Adrien, I love you!" She shouted. I blushed and stared at her in surprise. Had she said what I thought she did?

"Marinette, don't let him come between us," I said.

I saw her close the window. I  frowned. I watched her walk away and sighed once more.

Soon,  I saw her come outside and smiled when she came to greet me. I frowned as  a car came fast around the corner towards her. "Marinette, watch out!" I shouted. I pulled her back to safety. I could see her face change when it dawned on her what almost happened to her.

"Adrien, you saved me," She said. "Yes, and I would do it all over again to see you smile," I said.

Marinette saw the scratch on my arm and frowned. She insisted on helping me patch it up. I let her because who should argue with a woman when she wants to help you? She was so adorable with how much she fussed over me.

I had not told her how my father abuses me. I did not want her to worry. My father has always been verbally bad, but recently he has gotten violent too. What am I to do?

I moved out, and he came over to my new place. He shouted at me, tore up some things, and attacked me. I called the police, but he lied. He bribed them with food and convinced them, I was making the whole thing up. Honestly, how could they believe him over me?

I  cringed as Marinette put some stuff on the scratch which stung, then she stitched it and put a bandage over the area. "How did it happen?" She asked. "It was my cat, he has been in a bad mood lately," I lied. "Adrien, you don't have a cat." She said. "You are going to have to do better than that lie," She scolded me.

I hate when she does that. I sighed. I  reached up and placed a hand on her cheek.

I   heard her gasp and saw her eyes close. Should I kiss her?
