The smoke cleared from Thanatos and he was now a 12-feet tall Russian doll. Wonderful, the only form of Thanatos I hate is that dumb Russian doll. Thanatos stood, there in that over-sized coffin of his.

I shot at the Russian doll bringing out a 10-feet tall Russian doll. I sigh, knowing I would have to reduce this doll until it became a foot tall. Thanatos started hopping toward me with the bigger Russian doll.

I continued to shoot the small Russian doll while remaining in the same spot. More Russians dolls were produced, in this order: 8-feet doll, 6-feet doll, 5-feet doll, 3-feet doll, and a foot doll. Then all the Russian dolls turned to thick purple again.

I backed away from the smoke so I wouldn't choke on it. Out from the smoke appeared a normal Thanatos, he was staring at me with his lifeless eyes.

"Let's play another game my dear friend," he says joyfully as more purple smoke covers him. Suddenly there is a sword with five spears following it.

"Fun, I get to play with sharp weapons," I say sarcastically. As the sword and spears approach me I back away as I shoot.

~ Time Skip (20 minutes): Provided by the 'lifeless puppet' ~

I'm still moving away from Thanatos...these stupid weapons are tiring. The sword and spear finally stops, and with a flash of purple smoke Thanatos is back to his original form. Thanatos stands still looking at a spot above my head. I stare at him what's going through that puppet's mind?

Thanatos finally breaks the silence, "Enjoy your last breath, it's soon to be your last." Suddenly a horde of orne come out from the building wanting to burn Dark Pit.

"Oh crap, I'm finished," I stop, face palm myself and continue, "noo, that's exactly what Pit would say!" I mentally punish myself and try to figure out how to destroy these ornes. Ornes can only be destroyed by the Arrow of Light....should I? Nah, I'm not calling Palutena for that, Pit would only pester me about that forever.

The ornes bumped into to each other trying to get to first. I started to sweat, why did ornes have to be engulfed in such hot temperatures. I watched Thanatos eye me happily as he knew he was going to win.

I fly up to the top of a close building to buy me time to think. The ornes continue to follow but they're, at the very least, 20-feet away. I just wish I had a solution.

"Come on Ptooey, you got this. Figure out the clues, give them what they want. don't be like silly old Pit," giggled a girl sitting on the top of a building nearby. She looked familiar but I couldn't place her name.

I started to think, dead eyes, silence, no Underworld troops. It made sense, I knew what I had to do. "Thanks Mi-" I look around to see she was gone. That girl has a fun way of popping in at the worst of times, I smile at this.

I jump done into the middle of the square, waiting. The ornes are starting to close me in-in a circle formation. I activate the invincibility power piece, and walk through them at the last second. When the ornes close in, where I use to be, they disappeared in a blast of fire.

I looked at Thanatos to see him hanging like a puppet. An imaginary line pulls the puppet and hides it waiting for someone new to spring the trap. I continue to smile and head back to the main part of town to get Pit.

I wait in the main part town, still looking around for a Pit, I wonder where he still is... I hear footsteps and turn around to see Pit.

"You're finally here. Where have you been? Next time, speed it up," I say. I won't say it but I'm glad he's back.

"Excuse me, but I'm sorry that I happened to find Thanatos," Pit remarked as he pointed in the direction he came from. I glance at the direction and back to him. So it looks like I was right, Hades planned to set up more than one 'Thanatos's traps' to make sure Pit would get caught and die. Looks like he lost again, 1-0 Skyworld.

"Let's get back to the palace already. We should start planning for the next attack and where it's going to be," I replay plainly as Pit nods. Pit looks like has something he wants to say but doesn't, I'll get it out of him later.

"Lady Palutena! We have finished are mission here in the desolate village," Pit yells to the heavens.

I suddenly hear Palutena"s voice from above say, "okay, Pit. I'll get you back to the palace with Pitto- Dark Pit, of course." I'm glad she didn't call me Pitoo again, it's the least she could do from making that name for me.

Pit smiles widely and throws his arm around me while jollying saying, " THAT'S THE WAY TO STAY UPBEAT!" I gently push Pit's arm off of me while I roll my eyes and grin slightly at his contagious enthusiasm.

A bright light appears and we are swept off are feet, back to the palace.

As we left, I heard the old man's voice return, I wish he would just go away. "Enjoy this victory while you both can. Soon all of Pretty Palutena's realm will be mine, and Pitty Pat I'm looking forward to see you dead!" His evil voiced boomed while a sinister laugh followed.

Looks like Hades is looking to win the war, not just individual battles.
