Elena's Pov [A few years later]

I run my hand over my hair a couple of times and quickly add more clips to decorate my hairstyle. It's a special day today, my 14th birthday and I wanted to do something special. My eyes roam over the mirror, taking in my cute outfit and hairstyle. I take the lipgloss from my drawer and apply it. Then, I take the eyeliner and carefully apply it with a light stroke at the end. 

I hear footsteps coming up and as soon as I open the room, I was greeted by my brother's huffing self. I raise an eyebrow at his state. He was sweating and stinking. Eww. 

"Go and bath" I say and close my nose with my hand. My eyes take in his sweating self and I roll my eyes knowing he came from Gym. 

"Happy Birthday baby. I am sorry for being late" He steps in to hug me but I duck and step outside the room. 

Stefan groans at my behavior. I give him a mocking smile and point toward his room which was just in front of mine. 

"Bath. I am going down for breakfast. I have kept your clothes on your bed and your towel is inside the bathroom. The tub is full with lava water" I say in one go. My eyes widen and I grin at my little achievement. 

[Lava water aka hot water. She is being sarcastic here]

"OMG! I said that in one go!" I squeal and clap my hands. Stefan chuckles at my jumping self and comes to ruffle my hair which by the way, I dodge once again. 

"How dare you try ruining my hairstyle! I spent hours doing it!" I explain, shocked at his daring move. Stefan raises his hand in surrender and without a word, goes inside his room. 

Gosh, these people. I shake my head at him disapprovingly. 

Anyway, I skip my way downstairs and stop in front of the dining room's door. I take a deep breath and run inside while yelling, "GOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD MOOOOOORRRRNNIIING" 

As expected, Dad jumped out of shock while the rest just stares at me. Huh? They are not scared?

"I told you kids to react!" Mum scolds them when she notices my pout. Huh? Act?

"We knew you came downstairs and knowing you, as always you would try to scare us and we won't react and then you will be sad so mum told us last night to act scared" Anne clarifies. oh my god! My cheeks heat up at the truth. 

"Th-then why didn't you act?" I whine and stomp my feet like a child but I don't care! They always do this. 

"Sorry, we all forgot except dad, I think" Anne says quietly, a look of guilt on her face. 

"Whatever" I huff and sit down on my usual chair. 

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELLIE" Everyone shouts and Mum brings a cake in front of me. 

"OH MY GOD" I yell in excitement. 

"ELLIE!" Stefan shouts from behind, scaring the living day out of me. 

"AHHHH" I yell at that. Clutching my heart to stop it from beating too fast, I glare at Stefan who chuckles and hugs me suddenly. 

Everyone chuckles and Mum asks me to blow out the candles which I did. After cutting the cake, we were devouring the chocolaty sweet. Mum brings us some pancakes and I smile at this. 

"My sweetie" Dad ruffles my hair and I gasp. My eyes went to Stefan who cussed at this. Dad looks between him and me and his hand stills when his eyes meet Stefan's. They are communicating using mind link. I look around to see everyone else looking at Dad and I in horror. 

"Your hairstyle was not that good, baby. Let me do something new with it" Mum breaks the silence. I take a deep breath and Dad clears his throat, turning his attention back to the cake.

"It's okay, Dad. I am okay" I say with a smile. I look towards Stefan to see his eyes widen at my statement. I smirk at him. 

And this time, He glares at me.
