Cold fingers traced patterns on your shoulder as the hold on the book in your hand got tighter. Shallows sighs escaped your mouth as you felt his breath at the back of your neck. Goosebumps rose on your skin and you closed your eyes.
"Are you afraid?"
"Yes." you said.
He turned you around and your breath caught in your throat. His eyes were as dark as the night as he looked at you. His fingers brushed some hair from your face and you involuntarily fluttered your eyes closed.
He was evil, pure evil, nothing light about him. His soul was swallowed by the darkness, his arm covered in the dark mark. He was everything you hated and yet you loved him.
His darkness that brought others nightmares brought you, your sweetest dreams.
"Good." he stated gently as he put both his hands on your cheeks tenderly. "Fear keeps us alive."
He leaned forward as he kissed your forehead, his lips barely grazing it. He took the book from your hand and opened it, a shadow of a smirk gracing his features. "Dark arts?" he looked down at you. "You need to be careful who you show this book to, one might think I corrupted you."
You swallowed hard, his dark eyes looking like they knew your every secret. "What if you did?"
He grinned then, a crazy smile that could only belong to a madman. "Then I'd say I did a good job."
"I need to go."
He clicked his tongue, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Ah yes, to that boyfriend of yours. Tell me, did you tell him what I showed you in the dark?"
You caught his wrist before his hand could touch your face again. You knew that if you let him, you would never leave. "We can't do this, Sirius. It's not fair to Andrew."
His expression darkened as he put his arm around your waist, bringing you closer. He leaned towards you, his breath ghosting you neck. "I've seen what you can do and I've never turned away. Can he say the same?"
━━━━━━━
Andrew kissed your cheek as he sat down next to you in the Great Hall. He put food on his plate before looking over at you, his eyebrows furrowing in concern.
"Babe, are you okay? Do you need something?"
You wanted to cringe at the nickname and at the hand in your thigh. It all felt wrong, everything was not as it was supposed to be. He was your boyfriend, for Merlin's sake. You were supposed to love him. You could remember in fourth year when you imagined a future with Andrew. And now you couldn't find he courage to look at him.
You put a hand over his and smiled forcefully. "I'm fine, Andrew. Really."
After a few moments he nodded, seemingly satisfied with your answer, before he returned to his food.
Your gaze wondered to the Slytherin table where you caught his eyes. He was leaning on his elbows, his head slightly tilted as he looked between you and Andrew in a subtle manner.
You looked away from him.
━━━━━━━
Your fingers glided across the books in the shelf until they finally stopped on one. You pursed your lips as you looked at the Dark Arts book in your hands. Everything you were doing was wrong, everything he taught you was wrong but it felt so right.
Someone once said 'Where there is power, there is corruption' but for once you weren't afraid to be corrupted. You wanted the power, you wanted to feel the satisfaction it brought.
"You've become quite the bad girl, haven't you?"
You learned to not jump when you heard his voice. He appeared when you didn't expect him too. He was like a ghost, you never sensed him until he spoke.
You looked up from your book as he stood in front of you, the head boy badge a contrast to his green robes. He was leaning on a table, a cruel smirk on his face. He looked ethereal and you didn't think you've ever seen something so beautiful yet so deadly.
"What makes you say that?" you raised your eyebrow.
He seemed to enjoy your little game as he pushed himself from the table and walked towards you, trapping you between his body and the bookcase. His fingers slowly trailed from your elbow to your hands and once again, he took the book.
"Do you read anything other than the Dark Arts?" he asked with a glint in his eyes. "I might think you're more obsessed than me."
"I'm not obsessed." you stated angrily as you took the book from his hands and put it back in the shelf. "I happen to find Dark Arts interesting."
"Oh?" he tilted his head, some hair falling in his eyes.
You looked down a little, trying to avoid his searching gaze when he put a finger under your chin and made you look at him again. "At me."
He put a hand on your cheek as his eyes searched yours. Like he was looking for a puzzle to solve.
"This world is big, sweetheart. You're nothing compared to it and I'm nothing." the fondness in his voice caught you by suprise. "But you're something to me. Tell me I'm something to you."
Your breath caught in your throat as you looked at him. It was as if everything was erased from your mind, everything except his touch, his face, his words. You knew nothing but him and his darkness, you knew only the need for power and the need for him.
And so when you pulled him down by his tie so your lips could meet, you knew your fate was sealed.
