Chapter five

"Oh my god... Math is tiering tiering!." Alya said, face on the bench.

" I don't think it's that bad. Marinette objected. The formula we use is basically always the same."

"Yeah but i did terrible on the test" Alya groaned.

I agreed with Alya. My results were terrible too. It had been about two months since school started and i'm still as lost in math as i was before. I looked back at my test sheet. 53%. I had past, but really closely. My dad would have killed me if i had failed. But maths were just not my thing. I looked over to Nino. He had failed. 38% That was pretty bad. Alya had had 46%. A lot of the class had failed. I was desperate. I couldn't understand anything in Math.

" The test wasn't that bad..." Marinette whispered looking at her feet.

"Oh yeah! Alya loudly said, suddenly throwing her head upwards. How much did you get then?"

She brutally took the paper Marinette had been hiding under her hands. Alya's eyes widened and her face paled as she saw the test grade. She slammed her head back to the bench and showed us the test garde. I felt my heart stop as i saw the two numbers, written in red ink. I looked at Marinette, then back at the paper.

97%.

...

I looked at Nino whose jaw had dropped to the table. The three of us looked in awe at the genius be fronting us. I jumped out of my seat and slammed my hand on Marinette's table.

"What-is-your-secret?" I asked, envisaging each word as i looked at her with serious eyes.

She looked surprised at first but quickly laughed.

"I can teach you if you want." She said.

My eyes sparkled. I took my stuff then stopped as i saw none of them were moving.

"Come on! i said. It's the end of school, we can stay a few hours in the library!"

The three of them looked at me, then we all walked to the library. talking and chatting away.

We placed our things around a circular table and started taking out our textbooks. I started doing my homework as the others did. The first few exercises were easy, but question four got me. I looked to Marinette as her mechanical pencil kept gliding on her paper. I then saw Alya and Nino both struggled at the hard homework.

"Mariiii... Alya cried. I don't understand this stupid equation."

Marinette scrouged over to Alya and started explaining the process. I listened carefully at her instructions before looking back at my paper. The nots that had formed in my brain had all untangled uncovering a simple question. Marinette was a really good teacher!

I continued my exercise until Alya and Nino started packing their things.

"You're done!" I exclaimed, looking at them.

"Yeah dude. It's been like an hour and a half. besides it isn't as bad when Mari-sensei saves the day." Nino said. The girls laughed but i didn't. absolutely not

I looked at my paper, I wasn't even halfway. I sighed then looked back at them.

"It's fine, Adrien, I'll stay with you." Marinette said.

Nino grinned and winked a me then walked out the library.

Marinette took her textbook and sat next to me, moving her chair to see what i was writing. I felt my heart beat faster as her blue eyes shined in the sunset light, pouring in the now empty library.

"That's incorrect." She calmly said.

Her words bring me back to reality as i concentrated on my equations again. Her presence behind me was somehow pleasant but stressing.

"That's incorrect." She said again.

I looked at my answer but couldn't find my mistake.

" Here, she said. You used the wrong formula." She pointed out a number on my paper. As she did so our shoulders touched, sending an electric shot throughout my body.

She started to talk but i didn't hear. It was like i couldn't hear or feel anything. I was like submerged in water, far from reality. I looked at her. A small strand of dark blue hair fell out of her pigtails, falling against her jawline. Her blue eyes shimmered in the light. I saw her lips moving, but i couldn't her her words.

"Adrien?" She said, her sweet voice resonating in the room.

I looked at her, confused, then went back to my homework. I finished the last exercise then started to pack my things. Marinette copied me and we got out of the library. It was already dark outside so i offered to walk her home. She gladly accepted and we went in the direction of the café. We walked in silence, awkwardly looking away from each other.

"you're a really nice guy, she said walking to her door, thank you for walking me home."

She waved then entered the café.

*Marinette POV*

I ran upstairs after kissing my mom and dad. I was pretty tired, but didn't care. As soon as i closed my bedroom door, i transformed and flew out the window. I went to the The club and entered the warehouse. Loud music immediately piercing through my ears. I walked to the center of the dance floor and saw a person that i wasn't familiar with. She had purple hair, strands of white shimmering in the dark. Her dark purple shirt was stamped with a white lightning flash, tucked in a purple skirt. Her yes, hidden in a purple mask. She turned to face me and smirked.

"Well, well... if it isn't Ladybug, the club champion." She said, her voice was cracky and...cold.

I felt a warm hand wrapped around my shoulder.

"Looks like we have been challenged, My lady." I immediately recognized the deep voice coming from behind me.

I looked back at the girl and smiled.

"Show us your moves..." I said.

" Stormy weather" She said, finishing my sentence.

She looked at me and started dancing. While she did, lightning flashes and electric arcs danced around her. I looked amazed as a tornado formed around the girl. I didn't know she had powers too.

"Damn! she wasn't kidding when she said ' stormy weather"." The cat behind me said. I rolled my eyes then jumped in the dance.

I moved my hands, tracing intricate forms in the air. I concentrated really hard to generate my power. Then, my hands started to glow, leaving traces of light pink as i danced. I felt the crowd look in awe as i lite the room. I stopped dancing and faced my enemy. She looked down, biting her lip and, somehow, melted into black sand. There was a slight pause, then cheers ripped my head. Using a special attack required a lot of energy so i felt down a bit, i fell backwards. Fortunately strong hands catched me before i could hit the floor.

"That was amazing ladybug." He said.

"Thanks man." i replied, desperately trying not to blush.

I felt my vision blur.

"Get me... to a place... hidden... no one." I painfully managed.

He nodded then took e to a high platform. He layed me on the floor and smiled.

"You have to teach me that later." He said, his green eyes shining in my direction.

I nodded then asked Bubbles for a pill. Miraculous holders had to use a lot of energy to use there powers, the pills were just refills for their kwami to manage a little longer before a proper meal. I swallowed the pill and felt my energy boost back up. I jumped straight up and shook my head.

"Okay! i said. Rise and shine!"

I stretched my arms then walked towards bubbles and lady Wifi and whispered.

"We will have to talk about this later."

"Yeah..."They both said

Having someone powerful attack the club wasn't normal, in fact, it was i first. Chat came to use, confused.

" Wait you know each other's identities?"

"Yup" Bubbles answered.

"Isn't that against the rules?" Chat asked.

"Honey, we make the rules." LadyWiFi said in a smile.

His eyes widened.

"No way... he said in aw. You're the creators."

The three of us nodded and i smiled.

"It's not very normal for someone to attack the club, i explained, someone must be targeting us."

"Look!" Someone in the crowd said.

We all looked the way the voice was coming from. My eyes widened as i saw a huge graffiti on the opposite wall. An enormous Butterfly had been painted in glowy purple paint. I looked closer and red the writing out loud

"Greetings, The club. I have finally found you. I have been looking for you. I know who you are and what you did. Be careful. I will get back what is mine. Hawkmoth."

A chill went down my spine as i read " i know what you did". I knew exactly what he meant. I put my hands over my mouth and took a step back.

"Oh my god..." I whispered.

"What's wrong?" Chat asked, ears dropped.

"This guy... He knows... He knows about the robbery, he knows about us. I took another step backwards as i finished my sentence. If he wins this, we're all good for jail."
