Sirens rang, loud and piercing, as three wanted criminals sped down the highway. A mop of black hair appeared as April stuck her head out of the car window, whooping as she did so. A sudden bump on the road alerted the vehicles of the bend up ahead that would lead the chase onto the bridge. A helicopter followed closely above, its searchlights aimed directly at the silver Ford Mustang currently racing along the road.

With one hand on the steering wheel, Klaud opened the glove compartment and pulled a shiny metal object out. Already used to its weight, a giggle burst from Klaud as he placed the gun onto the lap of the person sat right next to him. He turned to look at his partner's reaction, the wary look on her face giving him enough entertainment to last for at least a day; this slight distraction was enough to cause the car to suddenly veer to the left, precariously close to the edge of the bridge and the deep, dark waters below it.

Rey screamed. April smirked. Klaud hollered. This chase would have to end now if they planned on evading capture. Unanimously, the three glanced at each other; their eyes met, one pair filled with apprehension, another with excitement, and the third calculating. Several minutes passed by before they skid to a stop, cornered between two masses of police cars.

"You ready?"

"Totally."

"No."

The wind blew around them as the unlikely trio stepped out of the vehicle. April stretched lazily, eyes trained on the officer getting out of his car in a shaky manner. He was clearly nervous, a rookie at best. Several other men were already poised, guns in hand and ready to shoot. The rookie yelled, his voice barely heard above all the chaos.

"Put your hands in the air, you are now under arrest!" the young man yelled.

"Oh my god. Hurry up, Rey, you're so slow." Klaud rolled his eyes as said girl climbed out, attempting to get her bearings together.

They walked to the side of the bridge hand in hand. April looked down at the churning liquid below them and shut her eyes, reveling in the feeling of freedom.

Klaud only laughed; life had no meaning without her. He wasn't scared, not at all—his time had come. The boy squealed with delight as he imagined his body sinking down into the depths of the water.

Rey took deep breaths. Whether or not they would make it out alive did not matter anymore. This was it; this was now. She had made that decision the moment she joined these hooligans.

The noise around them never ceased, sky darker than ever and the lights blinding. Three heads turned around as a gun sounded.

They jumped.
