Small note: This is a collab with a friend on instagram, red_cat302! Part of that being that this is a shared headcanon of ours. They have a headcanon that Kokichi gets Mikan rocks that he thinkslooked pretty. Just believe me when I say it's really cute. Part of this fic is going to relate to that, so to those who are reading this and wouldn't know what I was talking about at the end, just keep that in mind!

"A-And then, I wound up having to keep the lights off anyways. I don't know how my b-boss runs an entire hospital when they can b-barely make their minds up about the lights" Giggles Mikan.

I smiled as I walked alongside Mikan, the thoughtless conversations we were having during our date still carrying even as we were heading to our homes. It had been a few years since we were both students at Hopes Peak, but the two of us had decided not only to stay in contact, but continue the relationship that we'd created there. We'd been lucky enough to still have our feelings for each other, even after all this time. In fact, I'd go so far to say that they'd only grown stronger...

Which was part of why I insisted I walk her home tonight.

As we finally reached the floor of her apartment, I checked my pockets one last time to make sure that it was there. Smiling slightly as I confirmed it was, we start the "goodbyes". Mikan turned to me, smiling. "I had so much fun tonight... I r-really can't wait to do something like this with you again soon." Nodding, I respond "Same here. But actually, I have something to tell you"

Mikan cocks her head. "What is it?" she asks. I start pulling a box out of my pocket. "You see, I have another rock for you!" I exclaim. Mikan's confused expression softens, a smile stretching across her face. "I'd love to see it" she responds.

I begin to get down on one knee, to which Mikan's confused expression returns. Presenting the box, I open it to show off a ring. Her eyes widen, however before she can speak I ask "Mikan Tsumiki. Will you marry me?"

Mikan's mouth hangs agape as tears start to well up in her eyes. She starts to try to talk a few times, however the words escape her. Of course I wasn't, but others would start to get extremely nervous at this point. However, their nerves would be set aside as a smile stretched across her face.

"Kokichi I... of course! Yes! Yes I would love to!" she says, the tears that had begun to well up now streaming down her face. A huge smile now growing on my face, I stand up finally. "That's great! Of course, I knew you would say yes" I say with a small chuckle. Mikan chuckles as well, and I take the ring out of the box and place it on her hand.

Mikan looks at the ring with what I assume to be affection for a moment, before turning to me and bringing me into an embrace. I return the hug, and we kiss for a small moment before letting each other go. "I guess I better get going now then, huh?" I ask. Mikan looks off to the side, slightly grabbing at her arm. "Yeah... I suppose so" she says. There's a small pause, before she quickly leans in, kissing me on the forehead. Opening the door, she goes inside her apartment, and I'm left looking at it for a few moments.

I then turn around, and there's a smile on my face the entire walk home.
