Michael's PoV -
It is nighttime, probably around 4 A.M. and I'm patrolling the halls of the Mega Pizzaplex. I got a job here as a night security guard not soon after it opened. Since then I've been working as a security guard by night and living in a small hidden room under the pizzaplex during the day. It's not the best living situation, especially since I share my small room with my sometimes insufferable boyfriend, Ennard. Regardless, I'm a rotting corpse and Ennard is a seven foot tall animatronic, it's not like we can just rent an apartment. Either way, I need to be here. More kids have gone missing and I have a feeling that my father's behind it.
I walk the halls shining my flashlight into rooms. "Hello, Michael!" Glamrock Bonnie waves to me.
I didn't even notice I walked into Bonnie's bowling alley, "Hello, Bonnie," I wave back.
"I saw a child running around here, do you know him?" Bonnie asks.
"A child? No, I don't know him. There shouldn't be any kids here after hours," I reply.
Why is there a child here this late?
"I was going to go look for him to make sure he's okay but Vanessa told me to stay on my stage," Bonnie replies.
"I'll try to find him, thanks Bonnie," with that I leave the bowling alley knowing that Bonnie will keep the kid safe if he wonders into Bonnie Bowl.
I keep wondering the halls now searching for a child. I'm worried for the kid. There's been so many missing children here recently. I don't want to leave him and find out there's another missing child reported tomorrow. I have to find him before my shift ends! What if Vanessa finds him first? She's been acting different recently and I suspect she might be up to no good. "Michael! Shhhppppp... Michael!" I hear a whisper coming from the ceiling.
I look up to find Ennard hanging from a vent. He's holding a child in one of his arms. The child is trying to squirm out of his grip and is obviously trying to cry for help but Ennard has a wire wrapped around his mouth muffling his screams.
"Ennard, that is no way to hold a child, give him here," Ennard hands me the child who immediately responds by punching me in the face and running off.
I'm on the ground, that child is strong. Ennard is laughing at me but drops to the floor and helps me up anyway. "I see you really know how to handle kids, Mike," Ennard laughs.
"I'm better at it than you. You were scarring him," I complain, holding my sore jaw.
"Like you didn't scare him... Michael, I love you but you're literally a zombie," Ennard replies.
"Either way, this is no laughing matter. I don't want that child to be the next missing kid. We need to find him before someone else does," I pull Ennard along after me.
He should be in our room or in the vents where he won't be seen but I need his help now.
We're in the daycare center. I'm searching the ground and Ennard is crawling on the ceiling looking for the child in the play tubes. "Hello, friends!" Sun waves to us before jumping into the ball pit and crawling over to me.
"Hey, Sun. Have you seen a kid running around here?" I ask.
"Why yes. We've seen lots of kids today. We played in the tubes, we finger painted, we drank fizzy faz, we..."
"No, not those kids. There's a kid here now, we just seen him," I cut Sun off.
"No, kids are not allowed to be here after hours. We haven't seen any kids since the Pizzaplex closed for the night," Sun states.
"Thanks anyway," I walk away and Ennard follows through the vents.
Ennard climbs out of the vents once outside of the daycare, "I can't stand that Sun. He's too hyper."
"Ennard, I feel that same way about you sometimes," I chuckle.
"I can't believe you just said that, hmh," Ennard pretends to be angry.
"Shhhh..." I try to get Ennard to be quiet, I think I heard something.
The voice is faint and I can scarcely make it out, "... Where do I go... Evan... I'm scared..."
I slowly creep towards the voice. The same little boy is sat down on the hall floor talking to someone. I creep a little closer. Another child? The child from earlier is sitting and talking to another little boy. He almost looks like Evan. No, it can't be. What do I do?
"Hello, kids, I'm not going to hurt you I promise. I want to keep you safe," I come out of hiding and hold my hands up promising I won't hurt them.
The smaller of the two hides behind the child that punched me in the face. They look alike kinda, only the smaller one hiding has several bandages on his head. He really looks like Evan but Evan's spirit is in Golden Freddy...
"How do I know you won't hurt me?" The taller of the two asks.
"You have my word. There's been a lot of missing children here lately and I can't let you two become the next. I want to take you somewhere safe where Vanessa won't find you," I state.
"You don't work for Vanessa?" The taller child asks.
"I'm a security guard and she's head of security so I guess I technically work for her but I won't tell her if you don't.
"What about that monster that was with you earlier?" The taller asks.
"Oh, that's Ennard, I'm Michael by the way. Ennard won't hurt you he's just weird and not good at socializing with people," I state.
"Hey, I heard that," Ennard complains from his position on the ceiling over my head.
"I'm Gregory. This is Evan," Gregory motions to where the young boy was behind him but he's gone now. I didn't even see him leave. "Oh, I guess he disappeared. He does that sometimes."
"Okay, Gregory, let's get you somewhere safe." So the kids name is Evan. He can't be my brother though, he looks to real.
Gregory cautiously walks over to me. "Michael, why is your skin purple?"
"I died. Uhh, my skin rotted and turned purple I guess," I awkwardly replied.
Gregory takes a few steps away, "You're a ghost?!"
"No, I'm not a ghost. I'm just a corpse," I explain.
"Are you a monster? Are you going to hurt me?" Gregory seems scared again.
"What! No! I'm not a monster and I would never hurt you," I'm offended that Gregory would even think that.
"What about him?" Gregory points to Ennard who's still crawling on the ceiling, "Why doesn't he look like Freddy or Bonnie or Roxanne or-"
"Ennard's an older model. The glamrock animatronics are new. Ennard's part of some older animatronics known as the funtimes," I explain.
"Oh, cool," Gregory seems calm again and continues walking with me.
Only about a half hour till the doors open again. I need to be back in my secret room by then so nobody sees my rotting body. That means I only have a half hour to find that other child, Evan. I'll have to leave Gregory with Ennard in my room. Ennard will keep him safe and that will let me look for Evan. Hopefully, I have enough time to find him. Once day hits I won't be able to protect him and Vanessa will be able to catch him.
We're in the basement now, under the pizzaplex and in the old 6th Fazbear location. "I've never been down here before. It's kinda scary," Gregory comment.
"You'll get used to it. It's not so bad. Besides, Ennard and myself will protect you," I reply.
Gregory nods. He's such a brave child. I locate the secret door and push on a hidden button that opens the door to our secret room, "Home sweet home."
"Woah, this place is cool. It's like a secret entrance," Gregory looks around in amazement.
"Gregory, I'm going to leave you here with, Ennard. He will keep you safe. I won't be gone long but I need to look for your friend, Evan. Can you stay here with, Ennard, for me?" I ask.
Gregory looks nervous. "No offense but Ennard is kinda scary. He looks scary and he kidnapped me earlier."
"It's okay, kid. I promise I won't hurt you. I was killed at a young age and now I possess this body. I won't let anyone do the same to you," Ennard promises from his spot on the ceiling of our tiny room.
Gregory nods. "Okay, just hurry back Michael."
"I will, stay safe you two," I comment before I leave.
I make sure the door closes behind me keeping our room a secret.
I hurry taking the long walk back into the pizzaplex. I quickly roam the halls searching with my flashlight for the small child, Evan. He looks so much like my little brother. Even the name is the same. I can't fail him again!
It's past my shift now. A few day shift workers have come into work for the day, mostly kitchen staff to prepare the food but a few other staff like maintenance and janitors. I manage to avoid them as I keep searching for Evan. I know I only have a few minutes though. Guests will be arriving in a few minutes and the place will be so packed I will definitely be spotted if I stay.
I search as I make my way back down into the older location that I call home. Still no, Evan. A few tears well in my eyes. I failed him again!
I need to take care of Gregory. I stole some leftover pizza from the kitchen while I was searching. He's probably hungry.
I open the door to our secret room. I quietly shut the door behind me. Inside I find Ennard asleep on the couch. Gregory is cuddled next to him leaning on my boyfriend. Some of Ennard's wires are protectively wrapped around him. However, another child sleeps on the other side of Ennard; also wrapped in his wires, Evan!
How did that kid get here? I walk over to the adorable trio asleep on the couch. Ennard apparently senses my presence and wakes. He looks surprised to find Evan asleep next to him.
How did that kid get here? Did you find him?
Ennard speaks in my mind as to not wake the children.
No, he was here on the couch next to you when I walked in.
I reply also communicating telepathically.
Ennard simply shrugs. I sit the kids' pizza on the small kitchen counter before going back to the couch. I snuggle in next to Evan. The kid looks exactly like my little brother. Same brown hair. Same scar marks on his head from Fredbear's jaw. Same pale skin. He looks just like the child I remember... the child I killed. "Evan? Is that you? I'm sorry, brother. I'm so sorry." I whisper to the child tears falling from my eyes.
Evan doesn't wake up but Ennard notices and flashes me a sympathetic glance.
I stay awake, watching the children sleep and Ennard drift in and out of sleep. Gregory wakes up first, "Michael, you found Evan?!"
"Well, not actually. He was just kinda here when I came back. I found You, Evan, and Ennard all asleep on the couch," I reply.
"Oh, I was with Gregory the whole time," Evan speaks up having woken up likely from hearing us talk about him.
"Were not. You disappeared like you always do," Gregory states.
"No, I was with you. I just possessed you, I hope you don't mind, that's what I always do when I get nervous," Evan explains as if it's a normal occurrence.
"Possessed me? What does that mean?" Gregory questions.
"Evan, are you the ghost of my little brother?" I ask.
"Yes, Michael, I'm the same, Evan," Evan stares at me expectantly.
I break down crying again, "I'm so sorry, Evan. It was supposed to be an innocent prank, I didn't mean... to... hurt you. I'm so sorry."
I think I'm having a panic attack. I'm sobbing. Somehow I collapsed to the floor without even realizing it. I feel like I can't breath, my chest hurts. Then I feel little arms hugging me. I look up to find Evan. "It's okay, brother. I forgave you a long time ago," Evan hugs me.
I feel Ennard's wires wrap around me too. The panic subsides. I'm safe. I feel cared for.
"Wait, let me get this straight. Evan is a ghost who has been possessing me and hiding in my body without my knowledge for God knows how long?" Gregory seems scared again.
"I've only been with you for 2 weeks now," Evan supplies.
"A ghost has been haunting me for 2 weeks!" Gregory exclaims.
"Try living with a seven foot tall conglomerate of haunted metal and wires for 15 years that just so happens to use your body as a skin suit," I comment.
"You love me though," Ennard nudges me.
"I do love you," I smile.
"Why is this normal to you all? I'm concerned for your mental statuses," Gregory states with a laugh obviously getting over his fears.
"I would never hurt you, Gregory. You're my friend and you remind my of my past self when I was alive so I thought you would make a good host," Evan explains, "but if you don't want me to possess you anymore, I understand."
Gregory joins our group hug on the floor. He especially hugs, Evan. "It's okay, Evan. I know you're safe. I like you."
"Will you guys help me find my friends though? That's why I came here. Several of my friends went missing so I'm trying to find them. I thought Evan was one of the missing kids but I guess not," Gregory asks.
Ennard and I exchange glances. We know that these kids are likely no longer alive but we can't tell Gregory that.
"We will look for them. Ennard uses the vents to crawl all over this building and I'm a security guard so I patrol the halls by night. If they're here we will find them but we need to get you somewhere safe, Gregory. Where are your parents? They're probably worried sick about you," I ask while trying to comfort Gregory.
"Oh... I don't have any parents. I'm homeless, I live on the streets near here. Sometimes I sneak in during the day to play with the other kids and find some food. Then little by little I saw missing posters for some of the other kids I would play with here."
No one speaks for a moment. This poor child has been living on his own on the streets, "I'm sorry, Gregory. You don't remember your parents or anyone who took care of you?"
"No. It's just me."
"Gregory, Evan, you can stay here with me and Ennard. It's not much. We just have this little room but we will keep you safe and fed," I offer.
"Really?" Gregory asks.
"Yes, really," I smile.
So we have two kids now?
Ennard speaks to me in my mind. Gregory is sitting on the couch eating pizza. Being a ghost, Evan can't eat either so he just sits next to Gregory and talks to him.
I guess so. You're okay with that aren't you?
Yes, I will keep them safe. We can't let William hurt Gregory.
I pull Ennard closer to me. We're standing in the tiny kitchen area. I snuggle into Ennard's chest and loop his wires around my hand so we're holding hands.
I love you, En.
I love you too, Mike.
