Noah/Ennard's PoV -
Michael has been keeping me company here in the basement. Mostly, I think he's avoiding his father but I appreciate his presence nonetheless.
I sit next to Michael as he tinkers with a voice box for me. I'm still nothing more than wires and a clown mask but it seems like Michael is planning on rebuilding me. It seems like the voice box is really stressing him out. He talks to me obviously not thinking that I'm capable of listening. "Ennard, I just miss Noah so much. I hate not knowing what happened to him... Using your voice box to keep my mind occupied isn't working anymore." Michael is sobbing with his head laid on the old wooden desk.
I don't want to scare my lover but I want to comfort him. I lower one of my wires and gently wrap it around Michael's hand. He looks up at me with tears in his eyes and gently rubs my wire. I watch in horror as a bit of my body's blood pools onto my lovers hand. The blood is dark red, almost black, and apparently has bits of flesh and organ matter spewing out of my wire. So that where William hid my body, in my wires. It takes a moment for Michael to notice the mess. "What the..." Michael quickly stands and lets my wire go and starts trying to get the blood off. I watch as his eyes roll back and he passes out. I quickly catch my lover semi-ungracefully. I just wrap my wires around his body to break his fall. It's almost like he's laying on me.
A few moments later he wakes still in a panic. "Oh my God!" He scrambled away from me and looks at my twisted form laying on the floor. "Ennard, how did you catch me? Who's blood is that? Who did that to you?!"
I put a wire to my mouth in a 'shhh' manner trying to quite my poor lover. He listens and quietly approaches me. "Ennard, I think I might know who you really are..." Michael holds me tightly and sobs into my chest. I hear him sob "Noah" as he cries into me. I gently wrap around him trying to confort him. After a few hours he manages to pull himself together. "Should I take you to the cops? What if dad tries to stop me? What if the cops take you away from me? I can't lose you again. I'll just finish your voice box so you can tell me what you want me to do."
I run my wires through my lover's hair. He smiles a bit, "You're still the same inside aren't you? You're still loving and protective of me as always." Micheal smiles his beautiful smile though laced with a bit of sadness as he holds me close.
Finally, we break away and Michael sets to work on my voice box. I manage to crawl over to my lover. Quietly as he works I pull myself onto the table in a sitting position next to him. I silently watch him work. He seems more focused this time. Probably because he knows who I really am.
Hours pass, no light reaches down into the basement but I can only assume it's very late at night or early morning by the way Michael keeps yawning. He needs to sleep. I gently wrap around my lover. I use my wires to massage his stressed muscles. "That feels nice," Michael leans into my touch and releases another yawn.
After a few moments, Michael is fast asleep cuddled around me. Just like old times when we used to cuddle together late at night. I watch over Michael as he sleeps peacefully through the night. Several hours later his alarm sounds on his phone alerting him to get up for school. Michael awkwardly fiddles with the phone till he manages to silence it.
A cute yawn escapes my lover's mouth. At that moment he apparently notices me, "Ennard! Sorry, I must have fallen asleep."
Michael scrambles out of my lap but I try to ease his anxiety and run my wires through his messy hair. This seems to work. Michael smiles at me. "I don't feel like going to school today. I'll just finish your voice box today," with that Michael sets to work.
I don't want to be the reason Michael doesn't go to school. I stand with my wires on my hips trying to let Michael know I don't agree with his decision. He seemingly notices my stance and chuckles. "Don't worry, Ennard... er... Noah, I'll just study extra hard. Missing one day won't hurt anything."
I dramatically sit back down on the table. Michael's right, he's very smart. One day won't hurt. Besides, I want to be able to talk to Michael again.
I watch Michael work. Sometimes I curl my body around him. I like being close to Michael. Probably more than I ever have. Somehow he gives me more energy to be able to move this hunk of wires around that I now call my body.
I'm clinging to Michael as he sits fixing my voice box. My wires wrap around his chest, back, and arms. Michael's phone rings and I hear the terrifying voice of my killer. "Michael, I need you to walk Evan home from school. He missed the bus again."
Instinctively I flea from the sound of my killer and play dead in a dark corner. Michael looks terribly sad at my reaction but replies to his father nonetheless, "Okay, I'll be there soon."
He hangs up and walks over to me. "Enn...Noah... it's okay. I won't let father hurt you anymore. I do have to go pick my brother up so I need you to stay here. I'll hide you just in case dad comes home."
He places a kiss to my mask before covering me with a old tarp. Michael piles some boxes next to me and I hear his foot steps ascend the stairs.
An hour passes and I can hear the door upstairs unlock. Two sets of footsteps descend the stairs. "Brother, I don't want to be down here. The robots are down here. Can we go play upstairs?" Who is this? The voice sounds familiar. Is it Michael's brother.
"Sorry, Evan, I have work to do down here. You can stay with me or you can go back upstairs if you want," Michael states. His voice is closer to me.
I'm uncovered and I'm meet with Michael's beautiful face as well as the familiar face of Evan, Michael's young brother. Michael picks me up and carries me to the table. I hear him whisper, "Don't move in front of Evan."
I'm sat on the table. "No, Michael. Why are you working on the spooky robot? You know I'm scared of Ennard."
Michael has already restarted his work on my voice box. Evan cowards behind his older brother. "Ennard won't hurt you, Evan. He's a good guy," Michael replies.
With that Evan cautiously approaches me. He lays his tiny hand on my wires. "Hello, Ennard," Evan states as he looks up at me.
Just then the front door opens and I hear the terrifying voice. "Michael! Why didn't you go to school today!"
Hard foot steps hurry down the stairs and I quickly grab Evan before entering my hiding place. I throw the tarp over us both, trying to hide the small child. However, Evan doesn't see me as protecting him and rushes out from under the tarp and falls to the floor sobbing.
"What is going on down here?!" William growls.
"Nothing father, Evan is just throwing a tantrum." Michael defends himself.
"Am... not! Ennard... tried to... kill... me!" Evan cries and apparently points towards my hiding place.
Michael rushes over to stand between me and my killer. "Don't be ridiculous, Evan!"
Willam shoves Michael out of the way and pulls the tarp off me. I play dead. William kicks me. "Michael, have you been trying to scare your brother with your dumb design of a robot? Maybe I should just scrap Ennard all together." William growls.
"No, don't! Ennard's fine, I can rebuild him. Besides Evan's just let his imagination carry him away." Michael seems very nervous maybe even scared.
Michael walks over to me and picks me up bridal style. "I've actually been working on repairing him anyway," Michael carrys me over to the work table.
"Just take care of your brother, Michael. I'm done arguing with you," William states before ascending the steps again.
Michael gently sets me down on the table. Evan is still laying on the floor crying. Michael walks over to him and gently picks his little brother up, "Evan, you're okay. You remember Noah, my boyfriend, right?" Michael talks to Evan.
Evan nods still sobbing into Michael's shoulder.
"You really liked him didn't you? He would bring you candy and play video games with you." Michael continues but Evan is not crying now.
"Yes, Noah was cool," Evan smiles.
"Well, Noah went missing a week ago. He wouldn't answer my text or calls or even his moms calls. I found his phone here in this basement. Since then Ennard has been able to move on his own." Michael tries to explain the circumstances of my death to his little brother as non-graphic as he can.
Evan listens to his story, "You've had friends go missing before when they come over here, right? Then you'll report seeing Chica or Freddy move on their own, right?" Evan nods.
Michael continues but whisper this time, "I think, no... I know, dad is behind these disappearances. He kills them and hides their body in the animatronic suits. Well, Ennard is a vessel for Noah's soul and bodily remains now. That's why I have to protect him." Michael is crying now.
Evan hugs his brother. They sit in the chair next to the table that I sit on. Quietly, I curl around Michael and thus Evan. Evan notices my sentient movements but doesn't get scared this time. "Noah, is that really you?" Evan asks. In reply I nod my head.
"And father killed you, Noah?" Evan questions.
Once again I nod yes.
"You can't let father know that you know," Michael speaks to Evan through tears, "Don't tell him about Noah or he'll tear Ennard apart and I won't have what's left of my boyfriend." Michael sobs now and I gently rub his back trying to sooth him.
"Okay, Michael, Noah, I understand." Evan hugs us both before climbing down off Michael's lap.
Michael dries his tears and places a kiss on my mask. "Thanks, love."
I slowly unwrap my wires from Michael and transfer myself back to the table where I sit. Michael goes back to tinkering with my voice box. Evan sits on the ground nearby playing with a Golden Freddy plush.
Finally, Michael's finished my voice box. "There... finally done!" Michael states putting his tools down, "Noah, do you mind if I attach it now?"
I eagerly scoot over to Michael. I'll finally be able to talk again!
Gently, Michael inserts the voice box somewhere in my chest cavity. "Okay, try it out," Michael states.
It feels weird trying to talk again. "H-hello," I'm amazed it actually worked!
Michael seems happy too. Evan scurries over to us. "Noah, is that really you?" Evan questions.
"Yes, it's really me, Evan," I reply. My voice doesn't sound like it used to before I died. I sound mechanical, maybe a bit creepy. Exactly how one would think a possessed robot would talk. Regardless, it's a voice and I can talk now.
Evan hugs me, "I'm happy you're a nice robot! I'm scared of most of dad's inventions but I'm not scared of you!"
"Good, because I would never hurt you," I pat the top of Evan's head.
Michael sits next to me leaning against my right shoulder. "How does it feel to be able to talk again, Noah?" Michael asks.
"It's kinda weird but it's nice... um... Michael, could you call me Ennard? I want people to remember my old self for who I used to be, I don't want you to remember my old self as this..." I gesture to myself.
"What ever makes you comfortable, Noh... Ennard." Michael hugs me.
"Thanks, love."
