Mia's POV
Bo padded out of the clearing in the direction of the stream Lukai had mentioned. Lukai had walked off a minute prior to prepare my punishment. Hah... They left me here by myself. Now I can escape! I gnawed furiously at the vines holding my right paw until it gave with a quick snap. I then used my free paw to scrabble at the second vine holding me. Almost there... Yes! Im out! Time to get back to Scout, Alexi, and Doug!
Third Person POV
But what Mia didn't know was that Bo was putting his plan into motion. He had watched her escape silently from the bushes, eyeing her with contempt for being the center of Lukai's attention. There were only two ways to get rid of her: Turn her in to the Alpha or end her. As much as he wanted the latter, there wasn't enough time. He turned around to distract Lukai, turning back for a moment. "Relish this freedom while you can Baka... It's the last you'll ever get."
Alexi's POV
"Are we there yet," I whined yet again. "I'm getting tired!" Doug sighed and ser down his packs. "We're camping here tonight. No more traveling until tomorrow. Scout, go get food. Alexi, secure the supplies." Scout scurried off (SCOUT THE SQUIRREL!! K I'm done... Back to the story!) as I sat and began to dig at the base of a birch nearby. "What crawled in your fur and died," I mumbled.
"You," he yipped. "You're so impatient!"
"Well I'm sorry I wanna have Mia here right now!" I yipped back.
"You don't have to ask if we're there every minute though!" Doug retorted. "Seriously Alexi... I know you miss Mia, we all do. But you need to control your emotions! We..." he paused, tearing up. "Mia means so much to all of us. Without her I'd be dead a few times over. And... we owe it to her to keep going. But we can't help her if we run ourselves into the ground just getting there. I know she wants us to stick together, so I've been trying to keep things together but-" he began to weep.
I caused this... Doug is crying because of me... I padded over to him and nuzzled his shoulder, cuddling against him. "I'm so sorry... I didn't realize... Doug I..." I shut my mouth before I made things worse. Guilt... I guess it's a part of life. At least now I know how to help things go smoother. I could tell he was getting tired. Letting all that out must have exhausted him.
"Doug, you get some sleep. I'll wait for Scout to get back and settle everything. You need a break," I yipped. He nodded, keeping his head down, and lay down. I snuggled against him and waited for Scout.
Lukai's POV
Bo walked up to me as I approached the clearing, blocking my path. "You know Lukai... you promised me we could sparr before we found Ba-Mia. You up for it now?" he growled playfully. "The fox isn't going anywhere, now is the perfect opportunity!"
"I did, didn't I? Well, I have to explain a few things to Mia, maybe we can sparr after," I yipped.
"Aww Lukai... Oh, I get it," he smirked. "You're afraid your apprentice is going to beat you."
"Tsk... There's that cocky attitude I was talking about Bo. Fine, lets go down and sparr at the river," I barked.
"Perfect," Bo growled.
Time~Skippy
"Ha! I told you Bo, your cockiness will be your downfall," I barked. I won the match, of course. He can't seriously think he's ready to beat me yet! I looked up and realized how much time had passed. "Lets get back Bo, I still need to give Mia her punishment and talk to her," I yipped. He got a strange look when I said her name... Jealousy? Evil? Murder? It's probably nothing, I need to explain a few things to her. But when I walked into the clearing, she was gone.
"Oh Rhin... BO!! WE SPLIT UP AND FIND THAT FOX NOW!!" I snarled. I turned to find Bo gone. "Bo..?" All of a sudden, the patrol from earlier crept out from the edges of the clearing. "Hello again, Lukai. You aren't getting away so easily this time," the leader snarled. Oh Rhin... this just became a MUCH bigger problem. I growled and dropped into a low stance "You don't know who you're messing with," I snarled. "I guess I'll just have to show you." With those words, I charged.
