Chapter One-Arrival
Disclaimer: J.K. Rowling owns the characters and world, this is just my plot!
Hermione's POV:
I smiled as I sat next to my boyfriend, Ron. We were in the Burrow, but Ginny and I were about to go shopping for the first day of our seventh-year redo!
Because of the war, Harry, Ron, and I spent most of our time hunting for Horcruxes. We didn't get much learning in, so thank goodness for McGonagall!
I sighed as I bit into more of Molly's food. It was delicious! She had made all sorts of things! There were pot roasts, meatloaf, salads, puddings, cakes, jello, salads, punches, liquors and so much more!
"Ready to go shopping, 'Mione?" My best friend, Ginny Weasley asked me.
"Always! I can't wait to go to Flourish and Blotts and get new bo-"
"No! McGonagall lifted the dress code so we don't need robes! Well, we still will, but that's only for a couple of occasions! We're going clothes shopping! " Ginny jumped up from her chair in delight. "Can we go now, Mum?"
"If you've finished your lunch, dear!" Molly chirped. She picked up the pot of floo powder. "Loud and clear now!"
I looked at Ginny. "Diagon Alley!," I shouted. I was engulfed in a sea of green flames. A tugging sensation hit me, but just a second later, I appeared in Diagon Alley. Ginny appeared next to me just a second later.
"Ready to go?," I asked her.
"You bet!" She giggled. She grabbed my arm and pulled me into a pet shop. "First, let's get me a pet! You've got Crookshanks, but I want my own cat!"
I laughed. "They can be hard to take care of, Gin."
She sighed. "I know, but they're so cute!" She walked to the back of the shop. There were four cats there. One was a completely black female with bright green eyes. She meowed as we passed by her.
"Awww!," I cooed. "You're so cute!"
"Hey! Mine!," Ginny giggled from beside me. "I've only seen you for less than a minute but I already love you more than Harry!"
I howled in laughter. "I-won't tell-him you-said-that!" I wheezed.
"Thanks, girl," She replied. We walked up to the counter to pay for her, as well as get more cat supplies. We happily skipped out, heading towards a new clothing shop.
"Eunoia. Hm...sounds like a cute cat name!," Ginny exclaimed, looking up at a flashing sign. Eunoia meowed from her cat carrier.
"I think she likes it!" We walked into the store and gasped. They had used an enlargement charm! There were five floors, and we headed up to the top. This was where all the girls/women's stuff was.
"We need cute outfits! Flashy and modern!" Ginny said.
"Don't forget about a couple...er...comfortable outfits! And we need to have class appropriate stuff!" I argued.
"But!," Ginny looked at me with sad eyes. "'Mione..."
I sighed. "Alright. Let's get some comfy stuff, normal clothes, and a couple "flashy and modern" outfits, ok?"
"k!" Ginny ran to the rack of sweatshirts. "Comfy first!"

*3 hours later*
"Gin! We should head back! I can't...feel..my arms!," I groaned.
"One last shop!" Ginny retorted. "Flourish-"
"COMING I'M COMING!" I screeched. I excitedly sprinted as fast as I could towards the store.
I walked in and was met with the smell of parchment and ink, oh how I loved that scent! I ran my fingers across the scrolls bursting with knowledge. I dropped my bags and started pulling books off the shelf.
"'Mione!" Ginny called. "Come here!" I ran over to where she was and gasped. "It's a first edition copy of Hogwarts: A History!"
"I'll buy it!" I squealed. I put that book on top of the five in my arms and rushed to the counter. "Oh, thank you, thaNK YOU, THANK YOU for finding this!"
Ginny chuckled. "Anytime."

We flooed back to the Burrow and immediately started packing all of our stuff. We had to be at platform 9 3/4 tomorrow at 9:30! Ginny and I gossipped for hours as we packed.
"I can't believe Dean finally asked out Seamus!" Ginny exclaimed.
"I know! It's been forever!" I agreed. I shoved the last book into my trunk. "Alright, all done!" I yawned. "Tired too. Night, Gin!"
"Night, 'Mione!" Ginny slid into the bed next to me. She silently "nox"ed her wand and drifted into a peaceful sleep...

*The Next Morning*
"KIDS! WAKEUP!" Molly yelled from the kitchen.
I grumbled. Peering over my shoulder, I realized that it was already 8:00! "COMING!" I shrieked. I sprung up from the bed and put on a new outfit. Ginny and I were going to match, but just in opposite colours.
I had a black halter dress with red flowers. I had red lipstick, gold nails, golds flats, and a gold purse. We both had gold headbands with red accents. Ginny had gold flowers, red pumps, red nails, red lipstick, a red bag, and basically a whole lot of red accessories! We put each other's hair in a double french braid and started down the stairs.
When we got to the kitchen, Molly complimented us on our outfits. "You look lovely, dears! Not that you don't always look lovely." She put down steaming plates of eggs, bacon, hash brown, fruit, and a glass of OJ in front of us.
"Thanks, Molly," Harry commented, walking down the stairs in black jeans and a red t-shirt.
"Dang! No chicken," Ron sulked. He had matching black jeans as Harry, and a striped yellow and maroon shirt.
"Ronald, there will be plenty of chicken when you get to Hogwarts!" Ginny laughed.
"I still want chicken now," He mumbled.
"So," Arthur Weasealy looked at us. "You've all got your clothes, shoes, toiletries, books, quills, parchment, pets, pet sup-"
"We've got everything Dad, don't worry," Ginny kissed her father on the cheek. "We're ready! Well, at least 'Mione, Harry, and I are, no promises about Ron!" Ginny skipped up the stairs. "I'll get your stuff, 'Mione!"

*At the station*
"Oh goodness! My children! My babies all off to Hogwarts!" Molly howled into Arthur's shoulder. "Make sure you write every week! You too Mr. Boy-Who-Lived and Miss Bright-Witch-Of-Her-Age!"
"We will!" I promised, stepping onto the train. Harry, Ginny, Ron, and I found Neville and Luna in a compartment.
"Hey!" Neville shouted at us. "How're you guys!?" He stood up. After the war, he had really changed. He wasn't as chubby as he was in our first year, he had quite a bit of muscle now. He wore black jeans (seriously, what is it with guys and black jeans!?) and a white t-shirt.
"We're doing great! How're you and Luna?" I asked. I took a seat next to Ron and lay my head on his shoulder. Luna was to my right, at the window seat. Ginny was across from me, Neville across from Ron, and Harry across from Luna.
"Well I was looking for nargles just yesterday, there are so many of them!" Luna commented in her dreamy voice. She wore a bright blue dress with a carrot necklace, radish earrings, and bright yellow sneakers.
Ginny giggled. "Too many?"
"Oh dear, yes there are! A crumple-horned-snorkack might come along now too!" Luna laughed. "Hopefully not!"
Neville glanced at Harry and Ginny. "So, how's The Prophet's favourite couple doing? Any new...gossip?" He laughed.
Harry started howling like a hyena and Ginny jumped at the sudden noise. "Fine! Nope!" She squeaked.
There was a tap on the window. An owl floated through when Neville opened the door. It planted a letter on my lap and flew out.
"Well, somebody's popular!" Ron observed.
"Maybe." I squinted at the note and read;
"Dear Miss Granger,
I'm terribly sorry to inform you that there will be no Headgirl or Headyboy this year. If there were, have no doubt that you would have been Headgirl!
Things are changing at Hogwarts, and there are changes I seriously dread.
I can tell you no more, but know that I am truly, sincerely sorry.
From,
Headmistress McGonagall"
"'things are changing'? What does that mean!" Ron sat up straight. "Not another 'hem hem', Umbridge!" Everybody laughed.
"I agree, one is one too many!" Ginny chirped.
"I fear," Harry said. "That it's something else...something...much worse."
"Speaking of something worse!" Ron hissed. I followed his gaze and saw Pansy and Astoria outside our compartment. They both looked...sad...and almost sorry.
"We should change into our robes for the Sorting Feast and see what they have to say." Luna piped up. "Who knows, they've probably changed!" Luna grabbed Ginny and I's arms and skipped out of the compartment. "Lovely outfits girls!"
Astoria was wearing a plain white shirt with a Slytherin crest pocket. She had an emerald earring set and dark red lipstick. She wore black fishnet tights and a black, knee-length skirt. She completed the look with a cute messy bun and black heels. "Th-thanks...um!"
"Can we...er...talk to you girls?" Pansy asked. She fingered the hem of her dress. It was an all green, tea-length dress with a rhinestone belt. She had dark green eyes and bright red gloss. She also wore a rather expensive looking necklace.
"Uh...sure?" Ginny looked around. "I guess yeah!"
We all walked towards the bathrooms. I got into the stall between Ginny's and Astoria's.
"Look guys, we were on the wrong side of the war," Pansy began.
"And we're super sorry for everything that we've done." Astoria continued.
"We were raised to believe that we were superior because we were part of the Sacred-28, but we now realize that it's all just a load of rubbish," Pansy added.
"We know that sorry won't really cut it, but we hope that we can move forward with a more...er..friendly relationship?" Astoria questioningly finished.
My heart melted. These were two girls who were raised without any true meaning of love and were taught so many toxic things. They were punished for not being who their parents were. I sighed. "Keep in mind, that you've tortured us for years. One apology isn't going to clear all that up, but hopefully, we can be friends. I forgive you."
We stepped out of our stalls. Astoria and Pansy beamed at me. "Thank you, Hermione!" Astoria squeaked. She gave me a small hug. "You won't regret it!"
Pansy looked at Luna and Ginny, then looked back down at her feet.
"I suppose if 'Mione can forgive you, I can too," Ginny mumbled.
Pansy jumped on Ginny. "THANK YOU!" Pansy quickly let go of her. "Sorry!"
Ginny looked shocked. "Er! It's fine!...your...welecome?"
We all turned to Luna. In her dreamy, soft tone, she replied, "You two were living in a snorffle invested manor, I understand! I hope we can all together later!" She skipped out. I glanced at Astoria and Pansy.
"Do you know where Malfoy is by any chance?" I asked worriedly. "I hope he's not torturing Harry and Ron..."
Astoria looked frightened. "Pansy....what did they say before we left...?"
Pansy also looked scared. "I think something about Potter...."
Ginny and I bolted out of the bathroom and to our compartment. To our horror, we saw Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, and Theodore Nott standing there.
