Chapter Fifty-Four: Oh...Oh No!

A/N:Narcissa's New Year's party was Jan 1, not on New Year's Eve because that was the wedding. I didn't feel the need to write about it, but if anybody wants me to, I will! Happy reading!

Also, instead of saying readers I'm thinking of saying 'My lovely owlettes', what do y'all think?

Hermione's POV:

"Rise and shine, wifey!" A voice chirps.

I yelp and sit up abruptly, hitting the person above me, who must have been Draco, who else would have called me 'wifey'?

When I finish rubbing my head, I see that it is in fact Draco. I hiss. "I thought I told you not to call me that!"

Draco just smirks and runs a hand seductively down my torso. "I may have lied about that."

I turn over and harshly remove his hand, desperate to sleep just a while longer.

"Hermione," Draco whispers into my ear breathily. "We're going back to Hogwarts today."

I bolt up again, as excited at a five year old would be to get icecream. "This has been the best 48 hours of my life. I had a perfect wedding, I got to see my parents again, and I'm GOING BACK TO HOGWARTS!" I squeal excitedly and bounce around the bed, furtherly messing up the comforters.

Draco laughs softly. "I'm glad you like your gift. Now come on, breakfast is ready."

"Eat up, the train ride will be long," Narcissa chides, putting more food onto our plates.

I stare at the lavish spread. There must have been the same amount of food that there was at Hogwarts!

There was toast, jelly, fruit, pancakes, pancakes with abs (otherwise known as 'waffles'), eggs done in every way imaginable, bacon, sausages, potatoes, cereal and muffins, bagels, and donuts.

"Mum, we can get something from the trolley," Draco reminds her, refusing the food she offers him.

She bites her lip. "I don't want my son or his friends to starve, that's all." She looks at all of us.

Lucius awkwardly clears his throat. "Narcissa, I'm sure they'll be fine."

Narcissa looks down, embarrassed. "Of course, silly me."

"Nah, it's not silly," Ron sort of reassures her. "My mum literally forces us to take food, you're much less annoying."

She looks at him, a bit confused. "Thank you?"

Ron responds by shoving more food down his throat. "Gross, Ron!" Ginny complains, miming barfing.

Ron just shrugged and continued to shove more food down his throat.

"I can't even watch," Lavender retched, taking a sip of tea.

Lucius and Narcissa, as well as Draco, stared at Ron disapprovingly. I mean, I don't blame them. Living your whole life, having to be 'perfect', must have been a lot of strain. But it was also probably implemented into their minds, so seeing Ron be a complete and utter slob was most likely disgusting. Again, can you really blame them?

"Well, the train leaves in an hour, meaning we must apparate from the manor in forty five minutes." I say, chewing on a piece of sausage.

Draco snorts from beside me. "What?" I ask him.

He just smirks. "That's my Mrs. Malfoy, always knowing everything." I blush as he calls me 'Mrs. Malfoy'. All my friends giggled, and Narcissa smiled slightly. Lucius just looked as emotionless as ever.

Funny to think that that's the man who walked me down the aisle on my wedding day, I think to myself.

"Alright, Lucius and I will clean up, but you kids should bring your trunks down," Narcissa suggests, stacking out empty plates on top of each other.

"Thank you!" I push my chair back and smile at my mother-in-law. I skipped upstairs and into my room.

"I'd leave a trunk or two if I were you," Astoria says from the doorway. I look over at her, and I am instantly smiling. Who wouldn't smile when the happiest drama queen in town was around?

"And why's that?" I ask her. I click my trunks closed.

"We'll most likely be coming back for another holiday," She explains, stepping inside the grande room and sitting herself on a chair.

I quirk an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"Yeah," Astoria nods. "Her Easter Ball."

I slowly nod. "Right..."

I shove a trunk with some clothes in it into one of the compartments in the large wardrobe. "Good?"

"Yup," Astoria hops off the chair and walks over to my vanity. "May I?" She asks, gesturing to my (very little in amount) makeup.

"Of course," I reply, locking another trunk closed.

Astoria picks up a makeup brush and expertly dabs it into some dark green eyeshadow. She swishes the brush over her eyelids, spreading the colour evenly.

"I will never understand how you manage to do what you do," I admit, placing my head in my hands as I watch her do her work.

"It's really not that hard," She replies, swiping some silver into the corners of her eyes. She turns to look at me, with only one eye done. "You just need to be motivated and interested." I giggle as she returns to the makeup palette, and starts to begin her other eye.

Astoria hums herself a tune. I laugh and head over to the massive bookshelf. Grabbing a textbook, I sit on the beanbag in the middle of my room and begin to read.

As the clock strikes exactly 10:40, Astoria prances back out the door, her makeup fully done now. "We leave in five, and apparently Pansy and Lavender have news!"

I mutter something under my breath. "My bloody friends are ridiculous,"

"I heard that! And I totally agree!"

"Ready?" Narcissa asks me.

Lucius tenderly takes Narcissa's hand in his. She smiles up at him, and I too smile.

That's the first real bit of emotion I've seen him show! I grin to myself.

"Alright, girls go with me," Narcissa held out both arms. I latched myself to her right arm, along with Astoria and Pansy.

"3...2...1...!" Lucius counted down.

As soon as he said one, Narcissa apparated.

I felt my insides twirling, and my head span. My vision blurred and I couldn't feel my limbs.

Plop.

We landed in Kings Cross Station.

Narcissa wiped off some nonexistent dust from her skirt. "Alright now, you girls go first, I'll follow after you."

Ginny nodded, but handed her things to me. "Could you?" She gestured to he stomach.

"Of course, Gin!" I assure her, grabbing her trunks from her hands.

Ginny smiled at me, and walked through the brick column that would lead us to platform 9 ¾.

Narcissa beckoned us. "Go on now!" Pansy picked up her trunks and ran through the barrier confidently.

At first, a few muggles looked over and they were looking a bit confused.

Determined not to let them know anything, I muttered, "Confundus," under my breath. Instantly, they walked away, completely oblivious to everything else that was going on.

When I look away from the muggles and back to the barrier, I notice that I'm the only one left.

Narcissa smiles at me. "Ready, dear?" She asks me.

I nod my head. "Ready."

I heft Ginny's trunks in my left hand, and my trunks in my right. I take a couple steps backwards, and break out into a run.

As soon as I reach the barrier, I run directly through. Once I get past the brief second on bricks, I see the platform that I had grown to love.

It was dirty, yes, and of course it was crowded, but it was so full of love and joy, that I couldn't help but break into a smile.

"Hermione!" I hear somebody call, but I don't turn to look at them. I stay staring at the train, enchanted by it's magic and odd beauty.

"Hermione!" Somebody calls again. I slightly cock my head to the side, and turn around.

"What?" I ask.

Theo looks at me weirdly. "We have a compartment, come on."

He picks up Ginny's trunks and pulls on my arm, leading me to the compartment they found.

Since the war, the whole 'compartments by house' thing (except for the first train ride for first years) was done away with. The compartments were made much larger, and could easily fit twenty people now.

"Hey, 'Mione!" Lavender chirped from next to Ron.

I smiled at her, and slowly pushed my trunks onto the overhead racks, standing on the tips of my toes to do so.

"Short as ever, 'Mione," Harry laughs, standing up to help me. I sigh and hand him my trunks, which he expertly shoves onto the rack.

"Thanks," I grumble. I turn around and see Draco staring at me, almost...lovingly?

That's not possible, I shake my head and sit down next to him. I brush a piece of hair behind my ear. He can't love me, we're too different.

Then why do I feel this way?

I lean my head onto his shoulder, and he wraps an around around my shoulders. The other girls in the compartment go 'awwww'.

"So," Ron clears his throat and turns to look at Lavender. "You said you and Pansy had something to tell us?"

Pansy and Lavender turn to each other. "...Ummm..."
