April 2021 Mystery interview
This month's mystery interview goes to: @MissBelleVincent
1 What is one wattpad goal you have?
I joined Wattpad to be read. I've been writing for years as a way to delve into a fantasy world where I have control over the characters and their situations. My biggest frustrations in life are those that I cannot control, so writing has helped me overcome these by giving me a chance to rewrite whatever situation I get caught in. Most of the characters I write are based off someone I know, because it's more satisfying that way. You can say that when I write, I'm also playing God. Since I enjoy what I am writing, I am hoping that it would be enjoyed by others too. So the goal really is to be read. :)
2 Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow or comment?
I always get surprised when I get a vote, comment, or follow. I never expect it so if there are notifications then I'm pleasantly surprised and I'm eager to thank them for giving my work a chance. Sometimes though, I'm flooded with work so I'm not able to do that as much as I'd want to :)
3 what's your favorite story?
My favorite story of all time has got to be Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn. It's part of an 8-part stand-alone series and I just super adore it. The characters, the story, the development, and the lesson. They all just resonated with me. It's the book that made me fall in love with historical romance. I read it even before I knew of Jane Austen! *gasp*
4 What's your favorite thing about Wattpad?
I love Wattpad's community. It's such a welcoming space for new authors, and seasoned authors are so nice to provide feedback and encouragement. I love it
5 what's a good piece of advice for a newcomer?
If you're a newcomer and you're waiting for that reads or votes to go up, my best advice is to don't. Just keep writing, and reading, and writing some more. Read your work and polish until you yourself don't see plot holes anymore and you find yourself smiling and entertained by your own work. If you're finally happy with it, someone else will too. You have to be patient. If you push it on people the more they would think not to read it.
6 How would you enjoy a rainy day?
I enjoy my rainy days by making soup. I'm a chef and an educator in real life. I also moonlight as a psychometrician so I'm in many different fields and jobs. The best way to spend a rainy night is to do nothing. Allow yourself to do nothing and just breathe, eat, shower, and bumble around. :)
7 What is the best way to handle a bully?
The best way to handle a bully is to pretend that they don't exist. They feed off of your fear and your reaction. So if you don't give them one or if you treat them like a ghost they'd lose interest. Similarly, treating them nicely (this goes a step further if you're up for it) does the trick too. It would be very difficult for you because you hate them (why wouldn't you if they're bullying you?) but it would cause them to reevaluate and wonder and pause. Take advantage of the pause. The more you react or retaliate, the more they're fueled by you
8 What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is Christmas because it's a big deal here at where I live. I love getting people gifts and they make me happy when I see them happy to receive them.
9 What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie has to be "He's just not that into you" I feel that it's so underrated. It speaks volumes of the truth that we women need to see and hear. It's a refreshing rom com that doesn't rely on stereotypes and even though it aims to reimagine rom coms, it still is sweet ❤️
10 What is your schedule regrading your writing?
Sadly, I don't have a schedule when it comes to writing. I only write when I'm emotionally overwhelmed and when I have the time. Most cases, I'm overwhelmed but I don't have the time so that's not helpful to my writing. But when I'm in the shower or before I go to bed, I think about plots and characters and I let these ideas ruminate until I catch myself inexplicably moved to write. I find that when you're inspired, the right words just come naturally and rereading works that I have done while I'm in this state is the better written-ones, if I do say so myself.
11 What is your favorite snack?
my favorite snack is wasabi almonds. I'm just so addicted to it right now! It gives me brain juice and it wakes me up if I'm feeling sluggish

My book, Teasing Your Wicked Heart, is set in the 19th century. But don't let the setting discourage you. My characters were based off of modern people's struggles, people that I knew, and I've found a way to make them navigate through these struggles and have personal growth. I focus a lot on the psychology of it and I think that's what made their love story more potent. It seemed raw and real. It felt like it was something I would want for myself but something that I'd be cheering on too of it were to happen to someone I knew.
Sarah Jane doesn't feel like she belongs. In order to feel less alone, she seeks to better herself and mold herself into what society deems acceptable.
Anthony Llevy-Dorth, Lord Killsworth, though an aristocrat is human too. The struggles that come with a title is that people assume that he has a thick pocket. But he doesn't. And he only realizes how he is surrounded with materialistic and superficial people after he gets dumped by his fiancé for that very reason. He becomes distrustful and avoidant of society.
When the two come together, it's easy to see why they wouldn't match. One wants in and another one wants out. But when they do find common ground, we see just how magical and healing real love could be.
