Romeo

(I'm going to use Male Jesse for an example in this... sorry female Jesse, but I ship you too much with Romeo for this not to be weird. Here we go)

Romeo oh Romeo, you're just a caboodle of problems aren't ya? But hey, I guess his problems make for an interesting fan-fic! (Heh that sounds cruel)

Also, I'm not here to give this imaginary character sympathy, I'm here to expose him through my own opinions. I hope my opinions on these characters will help the people of Wattpad see them in a new (or better) light, and inspire them for a new story.

After playing MCSM season 2 for the second time, it became pretty obvious what Romeo's problem was.

His insecurities.

Hear me out. To be insecure is to have self-doubt or anxiety about one's self. "But how?" I hear you say, "Romeo's the most confidant character out there. He went to face Jesse himself and dared turn his/her town into a death city ran by fear and hopelessness. Someone has to be pretty self-assured to pull a stunt like that and not fear death."

Now that may sound right, but confidence can be confused with arrogance. One thing I've learned over the years is that it's easy to be arrogant in one's self when you're really insecure about something. I've done it to myself several times, like in 8th grade especially. I got so insecure about not being pretty like all the other girls, so I turned to my 'intellectual status' to get attention. It just made me depressed, angry, and hopeless feeling. I would also purposely disagree with people to get attention.

(Don't worry I'm working through it... if you cared)

BUT ROMEO'S DOING THE EXACT SAME THING!!!

The dude's so insecure about not having friends or not being a good enough friend, that he surrounds himself with power so people will want to be his friend. The man's lonely.

Romeo spent centuries alone, waiting for someone awesome who'd want to be his friend. He was so afraid of what people thought of him that he did whatever it took to look cool. So the second Jesse didn't want to be his friend because Romeo's an arrogant jerk, his world began to crumble.

He spent so long so alone that he didn't even think about rejection. He had planned for every event possible, just so Jesse would be his friend. Whether it'd be kidnapping Jesse's friends, putting him in prison, hurting him, taking his town, or even threatening to kill him. But Jesse ended up being too cool for a little something like an all-powerful Admin to bring him down.

Throughout the game, Romeo endured listening to Jesse's insults and watched him humiliate Romeo so Jesse would be his friend. He was so desperate for a friend, that he enslaved a whole town just to have someone to think he was great. Though they were forced to praise him, by that time Romeo was just so messed up he didn't care.

But if there's one thing that scared Romeo even more than not making friends, it was losing them. With Jesse, he never wanted to be Romeo's friend in the first place, so it made it just a little bit easier on Romeo to not care about what Jesse thought of him.

The situation, though, was different from Fred and Xara. The three Admins did everything with one another, they joked, they laughed, they helped people, they even built worlds together. But once things began to change, and the three admins began to separate, Romeo, became afraid.

He was terrified of being alone; Fred and Xara were his two 'true' friends. Everyone else just felt like a fan or paparazzi, he didn't felt truly loved by his people. So once Fred and Xara began to fall away from him, he took action.

He did what he could to keep them together, he built them tournaments, he pleased them, he tried to do anything he could for them. Through his fears and desperation to keep them together though, he became obsessive and possessive. It made Fred sad and it caused Xara to become untrusting.

Fred knew they were separating, and in the game, it was obvious he knew they were just gonna spread farther apart. So when Fred went to talk to Romeo about the three of them, Fred had to tell Romeo exactly what he didn't want to hear, the truth.

Romeo's insecurities, fears, and depressions finally sunk in and he realized what he was doing. Before he could fix his problems, and accept the fact that they couldn't spend as much time together anymore, he made the biggest mistake of his life.

All of his efforts and manipulation to keep the three of them together felt pointless now that Fred told him the truth. At the moment, to Romeo, the only logical thing was to end the thing that was causing him so much grief.

And that thing was Fred.

Fred caused Romeo to become angry, sad, and confused all at the same time. Romeo didn't know what to do, he was so used to being all-powerful and being able to fix and control everything. And now that he had a problem that could be nither fixed nor solved, the easiest thing to do was give up.

And he did.

He gave up on their friendship, on Fred, on Xara, and on the whole world the three of them created. After killing the source of his problems, he also locked up Xara and blocked and left the world that caused him so much pain behind.

Romeo created a whole new world, a whole new life for him. In this world, people would know him as the all-powerful, all awesome, Admin. A person of such great power would be loved by all, he thought, someone, desired to be friends with.

And once a mighty hero rose up, Romeo took it as a chance to create a new friend. Someone as awesome in status as he, someone who would fill the hole in his heart. But after meeting Jesse, even if he is nice to Romeo, Romeo finally begins to realize his loss can't be replaced without healing.

Now that Romeo realizes his own mistakes, he becomes angry. But with telling everyone how awesome he is, he believes that himself, and takes his anger out on Jesse instead. He yells at Jesse as if he's done him wrong as if all his issues were caused by Jesse. He doesn't take responsibility for his own actions, and it just makes him angrier.

He gives up on trying to make friends now that he feels his mistake can never be forgiven, so he turns to the partial love of the people. The 'love' of fans and the power of popularity, and begins to surround himself with people who will admire him.

But now that he's given up, his mind no longer works, and he's too confused to manipulate people anymore. So it made it that much easier for Jesse to defeat him. I'm not even gonna explain what Romeo was feeling after his powers were taken away because that's a whole other story.

To boil it down, Romeo realizes his mistakes and tries to make up for it and find Xara (if he didn't kill her) to ask- beg for her forgiveness. If he did end up killing Xara, she was just another mistake that killed his heart even more.

But after everything Romeo does, and everything he did, he becomes wiser. Romeo becomes a stronger man, and I believe he'll eventually find the forgiveness he's looking for, it just may take a while.

(A:N Man, this chapter was way more on the depressing part of Romeo's life. Usually, I try to lighten the mood by adding something hopeful at the end of each part, but I only have like... a paragraph of good things to say. I  promise you Romeo is better than I've portrayed him as today.  I hope you enjoyed this one though! I really enjoy finding the roots of these people's problems and how it affects them in the game. BYE BISCUITS!)
