CHAPTER 23

SAMS POV

It's been a week since that night.

Sammy just had detention the rest of the week which I made sure to make fun of him for every day of the week, which he didn't appreciate, but I didn't care. It sure was funny watching his glares when I would.

As of now, I was currently at lunch with Skye at our favorite coffee shop while she went on and on about how it was Ryan's birthday this weekend and she wanted to throw him a surprise trip, or party...who knows what she's planning at this point.

Sammy: question of the day, what's your turn ons?

My face heated up at Sammy's question on matched. Of course that'd be his question of the day, it's not like he'll be able to use any of this against me because Eviee and him are never meeting.

Eviee: Wow so scandalous today, aren't we?

I teased him as I bit my lip, holding back a laugh until Skye waved her hand in front of my face.

"Earth to Sam?!"

"Oh, sorry!" I quickly placed my phone down with my eyes shooting up to hers, making her raise an eyebrow in suspicion.

"Why so...weird, Sam?" She tilted her head to the side. I glanced at my phone and quickly reached for it until Skye grabbed it from the table first.

"No, no!" I reached out for my phone, but no luck. She was going to see my deepest darkest secret...talking to Sammy about turn-ons.

She read the messages on the phone, and I buried my head into my arms on the table, "Curse your fast reactions." I mumbled before raising my eyes at her slightly.

Her eyes raised to me as her mouth opened, "Uh huh, talking to Sammy about turn-ons? So, Sam, what are they?" She placed the phone down on the table and clasped her hands together onto the table.

I quickly snatched the phone away and glared at her, "It'll be Eviee's turn-ons, not mine, duh."

"Don't lie, Sam. You talk to him the same way you would talk to him as if he were here."

"Skye!" I groaned with a huff, "I don't like him like that."

Skye gave me a blank expression like she didn't believe a single thing I was saying, "Didn't you say you guys had a moment last week?"

"No!"

"Yeah...he was staring at your lips, do you know what that means?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

I huffed, leaning back into my chair as it made a noise against the tile, "Skye, it wasn't like that, and it wasn't a moment."

"Just kiss already," She started to go on, making me narrow my eyes onto her, "Forget the enemy shit, we all know you're basically friends now."

"But friends don't kiss." I managed to point out, and she put her finger in the air to stop me.

"Friends who like each other do." She pointed at me as she smiled with confidence.

I can't win with this woman.

"No and no." I smiled back, "So what's the plans for Ryan's birthday?" I changed the topic, hoping she'd follow along, and to my luck she did.

"Oh! So, I have some resources..." She winked before leaning forward into her chair.

Oh no...

"His aunt owns a hotel, and it's a very fancy one. Imagine us all going for a night and doing dinner or something?" She proceeded, and I pursed my lips out in thought.

"Are you wanting a hotel because you want to get some hotel sex?" I asked, and her smile grew wider.

She was not innocent at all.

"Well, duh, hotel sex is the best. Not that I would know, but I'll make sure he'll know afterward."

"Skye!" My eyes widen at her casual tone.

"Oops sorry, anyway, yeah? It'll be fun, just a night all four of us?" She bounced in her chair with excitement and I laughed.

"Four of us?"

"Sam, stop acting like you're surprised Sammy will be at every event." She rolled her eyes playfully before a smile appeared on her lips, "Tomorrow we'll all head down, it's an hour away."

I chuckled before nodding along with her, "Of course, I'll be there."

THE NEXT DAY

One car later, we were here at the hotel. It was breathtaking as it towered above us. His aunt sure did own a nice hotel, and Skye got lucky she had such a valuable resource.

We currently were tugging all our luggage down the narrow halls of the hotel as our footsteps and suitcases were the only things to be heard along with Skye blabbing about how excited she was, making Ryan light up every time she spoke.

Damn, not gonna lie, they were a cute couple. The way he looked at her, you could just tell he adored her and was very thankful for this surprise outing she had planned for his birthday.

"Our rooms are next to each other!" She exclaimed with excitement as we came to a stop at the two doors with them being right across from each other.

"Yay! Now we don't have to hear how loud you are." I teased, and she took it in the opposite way of what I meant.

"I mean, Ryan likes it." She winked toward Ryan, making his cheeks flush into a redden shade. He fumbles with the keycard before scanning it against their door.

"Skye..." I stared at her blankly, not even knowing what to say back. My best friend always had a dirty mind, but I still loved her. "You know what, never mind, have fun with Ryan." I winked back at her, and she started to smirk.

"You two have fun too."

"Hey! We didn't agree to share a room, but are only doing it for you two lovebirds." Sammy stopped his suitcase and started to reach into his pocket to take out the keycard as well.

He sure was right, on the way here we were informed of that sad news, which honestly I expected so I wasn't mad. Sammy hasn't been getting on my nerves as much recently so it can't be that bad.

As long as we both have our own beds then we'll be fine.

Skye and Ryan pursed their lips as they both made a small glance at each other, making me raise my brow.

"Well, see you two in an hour or so." Ryan smiled at us and quickly pulled onto Skye's arm as he pulled her into the door along with their bags.

"By the way," Skye quickly peaked behind the door before Ryan could close it, "There were no more double bedrooms, so...have fun!" She shut the door in our faces, and I slowly brought my attention to Sammy.

"Oh, hell no." I grabbed the keycard from Sammy and started to scan us into our bedroom. Once it granted us access, I pushed the door open and walked inside the all-white room with hints of shades of blue along the walls, and the decor.

Only to realize, there was one bed.

"Oh, why don't you look at that? Looks like we're cuddling tonight." Sammy places a hand on my shoulder, making me narrow my eyes at him.

I pushed his hand off my shoulder and made my way further into the room with the sound of the door closing behind us both. I threw my bags onto the floor and stopped my suitcase in the middle to admire the room for a slight moment.

Forgetting the fact I had to share a bed with Sammy tonight, the room was absolutely stunning, to say the least. When you walked in you had a grand bathroom to your left along with a wide mirror to your right.

I gasped in excitement once my eyes reached the huge window across from me that stretched across the whole wall. I took steps to get closer as the natural light beamed onto me and looked out at the view of the city. The buildings looked so small from where we were with the cars looking as if they were ants.

I smiled, "Wow...this definitely makes me feel a little better now."

"Huh, what's that supposed to mean?!" Sammy complained from behind me, making me scoff.

"You know damn well, Sammy. I'm not too thrilled about seeing you drool next to me, but hey, at least we got a good view." I motioned toward the window as I kept my eyes focused in front of me until Sammy was standing beside me.

"Wait, whoa."

"I know."

"Imagine the view at night," Sammy's eyes glanced at me, and he smiled slightly.

"I don't have to imagine when I'm going to see it tonight." I threw a playful wink in his direction before turning on my feet to walk over to my suitcase, "I guess we should probably start getting ready for dinner, yeah?"

"No, we haven't done the ritual yet." He walked towards me some more, and I slowly backed up at what he was talking about.

"Please don't kill me." I squeezed my eyes shut, but to my surprise, I felt a pair of hands grip around my waist, and launch me onto the bed.

My back hit the comforter as my eyes shot open, and I let out a soft laugh, "What are you doing?" I titled my head to the side.

Sammy stood at the end of the bed with a smirk plastered on his face.

"What do you mean? You have to jump onto the hotel bed before anything else?"

He dropped his bag to the ground and then launched himself onto the bed beside me, flopping down onto his stomach which made me stumble back a bit on the bed.

"Okay, not gonna lie, you're right about that one," I admit at his playfulness. His eyes raised to me as he was still on his stomach and they were dancing with amusement as I spoke before he sat up fully.

"I know, now you can go get ready." He waved his hands, shooing me away.

I rolled my eyes, and got up from the bed, "Okay, but just so you know it'll probably be an hour until I'm ready."

"Well, duh. Girls take two hours to get ready. I'm pretty informed on that topic."

I glared at him and picked up a pillow before throwing it at him, hitting him against his face.

"I hate you," I say, turning on my feet to walk into the bathroom.

"No, you don't!" Sammy called out from the bedroom, making me shake my head slightly.

Little did he know, he was right.

I did enjoy spending time with him, and I didn't know why.
