Why did Peter Apologize?
So many people were wondering what Peter Parker was apologizing for after that scene. But it turns out it's not so complicated.
First of all, Tony went up to space knowing full well he could die and might never make it back to Earth. He told Peter to head home and Peter didn't do so, and now Tony is aware that Peter might also die and he's very disappointed in Peter for staying(but I guess also kind of proud?) and Peter understands.
Also, remember in Spider-Man Homecoming? There was a scene where Tony is talking to Peter and he says, "If any of those people died, that's on you. If you died, I feel like that's on me, and I don't need that on my conscience."
Peter truly understands this, so when he's disintegrating, he wants Tony to know he's sorry: for coming to space, for disobeying Tony's orders, and for having his death on Tony's conscience because Peter really cares. And so does Tony, so it makes it all the more sad when you think about it that way.
Also, did you know that Tom Holland improvised that scene?!?
Tell me what you think:)
