3rd Person POV

Pain, sorrow, and regret. Honestly if there were three emotions Jaune had been feeling at the time, it would certainly be those. For the past 3 hours, the blond had been staring at his scroll. Ruby had yet to call or even text him back, and with each second his feelings grew worse. What if Ruby had gotten into an accident on the road? What if she was killed by some maniac? What if she went to someone else? It was these very questions that plagued him for the time being. "Ruby please pick up. I'm sorry, I really am. I... I didn't mean a single word I said. I didn't mean to bring up Pyrrha..." Slowly, tears began to slide down Jaune's face, his lips beginning to quivers slightly. "She means nothing to me now... You... You're the only one I want. No, the only one I need. Please... just pick up..." Sadly, Jaune's prayers wouldn't be answered tonight as he, yet again, was given no answer. No text... no call... nothing.

Truly, Jaune was heartbroken. Though in the back of his mind, he knew that Ruby most likely felt way worse. "I'm sorry... I'm so... so sorry..." Placing his scroll on the nightstand, Jaune laid down in his bed, his eyes still welling up with tears. "Please be safe. I... I don't know what I would do if I learned that something happened to you." Slowly, Jaune closed his eyes. Maybe, if he was lucky enough, Ruby would be in his dreams. Though, Lady Luck was never much kind to the blond.

"R... R-Ruby, are you... alright?" Jaune's lips formed into a small frown as the redhead seemingly ignored his question. Her eyes seemed to be focused on something else. Something quite bright. "Ruby... Baby?" Concerned, Jaune reached his hand out towards her shoulder, but before he could even make contact, Ruby turned to him with a glare full of malice. It was a look that he never thought Ruby could even give anyone. "Baby? Are you sure that Pyrrha isn't your baby?"

"Rub-"
"Maybe Weiss is your baby. She did give you a chance in high school."
"P-Please list-"
"Or maybe it's Blake? Coco? Velvet? Nora? Or even my sister?"
"I... I-I..."
"Can't even give me a response huh?"

Shaking her head in disgust, Ruby stood up and walked over to the light. As the redhead drew closer to it, the light began to form into the shake of a person. "R-Ruby wait!" Jaune then shot up from his seat, running towards Ruby. However, just as he was about to fully close the distance between them, the person made of light lifted its hand, pushing Jaune back a few feet. "P-Please! Just give me a second chance! I know I fucked up, but I... I-I know I can fix it!" Once again, the light pushed him back, this time by four yards. As Jaune's body rolled across the ground, he could've sworn he had heard Ruby laughing in the distance. "Bye bye Jaune."

"Wait!" Once Jaune stood back up, his surroundings went completely dark for a moment. "What... W-What is this?" Suddenly, the darkness vanished and numerous things appeared before Jaune. All involving Ruby. The first was one that brought Jaune to tears. He had spotted Ruby's car, which had been badly damaged. Hanging out from one of the doors... was her bloody arm. The second scene made him drop to his knees. Ruby was in an alleyway, her body horribly bruised and cut. The next one began to tear away at his heart. Ruby was in bed with another man, moaning in absolute bliss. The final scene involved Ruby talking to Yang, whose mod seemed to worsen with each passing second.

Four possible outcomes. The one he had prayed for... hadn't been here. "N-No... I... I can't lose you. I... I don't want to lose you. I need you..."

Jaune's body jolted a bit as he heard the sound of his alarm. Usually he would be complaining about the noise, but now... he could say that he loved the small object. Turning in his bed, Jaune noticed that Ruby hadn't come in at all. Her side of the bed was still untouched. "I hope I see her today." Sighing, Jaune wiped his eyes and rose up from his bed. As he stood up, his scroll began to go off. It was his faithful friend, Lie Ren. Or just Ren as they called him. "H... Hello?"

"Hey Jaune..."
"What's up? Is this about Nora's birthday?"
"No... though I wish it was."
"What happened?"
"Meet me in half an hour. You know where Johnny Rocket's is?"
"Yeah. Why meet there?"
"Because I'm near it. Just get ready okay?"
"O... Okay?"

The silence between Ren and Jaune was most likely the oddest thing either of them have been through. Usually they would already be deep into a conversation, but what they met up for was quite... bad. "So..." The blond started slowly, "What did you need to talk about? Is everything okay?"

"That's what I should be asking you." Ren quickly replied. "Look, this is gonna be very difficult for me to say." Jaune then felt cracks beginning to form on his heart. "T... T-This... is about Ruby?" The ravenette could only nod at the cracked voice of his blond friend. "Is... Is she okay? She isn't... She isn't hurt is she?" For a brief moment, Ren looked away, not wanting to have to say what he knew while looking into his eyes. "Oh God..."

"Jaune... she's fine. She isn't hurt in any way. Not that I know of anyways..."
"What... What do you mean?"
"Let me ask you something. Did you and Ruby get into a fight?"
"...Yeah. And it's all my fault. I... I said something that I didn't mean and..."
"I see. So that's why..."
"R-Ren?"
"There is no easy way of saying this. Earlier today, Nora and I were at a café."
"Wait, you let Nora drink coffee?!"
"She's more relaxed now, but that's besides the point."

"There sure are a bunch of stores and apartments near here. It's like everything you need is right here!" A small giggle escaped Nora's lips as she continued to look around. "The apartments don't look that bad on the outside. I wonder what they..." Noticing that Nora began to trail off, Ren took his eyes off of his book and sighed. "What's wrong Nora?" Unable to speak, Nora simply pointed into the direction that she was staring at. Turning his head towards the site, Ren nearly fell out of his chair. Coming out of one of the apartment buildings was... Ruby. Behind her was another guy, wearing what seemed to be an outfit thug bartenders wear. "...Maybe they are friends?" Nora spoke softly. However, her hypothesis was quickly put down as Ruby turned around and kissed him on the cheek. The guy simply smiled at her action before giving her a hug. "Did... Did she and Jaune break up?"

"He would've told us if they did..." Hearing that, Nora slowly stood up from her seat. "Nora, don't."

"She's cheating on Jaune! We can't let this slide Ren!"
"I know... but we can't act like brutes about this."
"And what's wrong with that? She's hurting our friend!"
"Yes, but Ruby is our friend right?"
"Not right now..."
"Look, why don't we talk to Jaune about this? I know that you're angry right now... but we truly don't have a reason as to why she did this."
"..."

As Ren's story came to a close, utter shock spread throughout Jaune's body. One of his fears had come to life. The fear that she would fall into another man's arms. The fear that she would no longer love him. "You... You said that he looked like a bartender... right?" Ren then nodded, not noticing a certain look in the blond's eye. "...I'm glad I don't have work today. I would've been too stressed..." For a moment, Jaune began to laugh. However, this laugh wasn't filled with happiness of course. Though... it didn't seem to be filled with anything. An empty laugh. The worse kind of laughter. "Jaune... what are you thinking?"

"Nothing Ren. I... I think I... I gotta go home. This... is kind of too much to take in..."
"...If you need to talk to us Jaune, we're here for you."
"I know... I know. And for that, I thank you. You always stuck by me Ren. When Weiss broke up with me... My falling out with Pyrrha... My sister passing away. You've always been there."
"...Jaune?"
"I want you to know that you and Nora are like my siblings Ren. The best siblings a guy like me can have."

"Jaune you aren't about to-" Before Ren could finish, Jaune put up his hand. "No. I just wanted to let you know this. I just hope... that you can help me through all of this."

"...Alright. Just... please don't do anything drastic." At that, Jaune smiled. Slowly, the blond began to stand up and walk towards the the door of Johnny Rocket's. "I won't. See ya Renny!" As Jaune left, an odd feeling began to pass through Ren's body. Jaune never called him Renny.

Really puts it in perspective... what the fuck's a bad day...

Today... was the day that Jaune Arc was no more. Today... something else was in his place. As he sat inside of his car, he placed his head on the steering wheel, talking to himself in a soft manner. "All my fault. Everything is always my fault. This... This will be the last thing that I do. And I... am okay with it. No more stress... No more heartache... No more pain. No more Jaune after today." Slowly, Jaune reached into the glove compartment, taking out something that was all black. He then got out of his car and walked up towards the neon lights which said the familiar name of Joey's. "Forgive me father... for I have become a demon of my own right. The demon that bottle created. The demon that my mind created. Forgive me... Forgive Ruby... Forgive Y/N... Forgive us all for all the evil we do. I am sorry mother... father... sisters... Ruby... Ren... Nora... Sun... Neptune... and even you... Y/N."

Walking into the bar, Jaune slowly made his way over towards the bar counter. "Hey, you aren't supposed to be here Arc!" Ignoring the guard, Jaune continued to make his was towards the bar counter. Getting up from grabbing a bottle, Y/N's eyes widened at the sight of Jaune. Had Ruby told him of what happened? She promised not to. "You Y/N?"

"...Yeah. You must be Jaune."
"No... but I used to be."

Before anyone could react, and before any of the guards could grab Jaune, the blond pulled out the all black object from before, aiming it right at Y/N's chest... and pulling the trigger. As Y/N's body fell, the armed guards pulled out their weapons and fired upon Jaune, his body becoming riddled with both bullets and holes. The last thing on Jaune's mind wasn't of Y/N's body. It wasn't even on Ruby. It was on himself. If he just quit... then he wouldn't have pushed Ruby away. He wouldn't have shot Y/N. And he wouldn't be filled with bullets.

"Babe? You okay?" Y/N lightly placed his hand on his head, chuckling a bit. "Yeah. Work was kind of rough today and I am dead tired." Sighing, Y/N laid his head on Ruby's thighs, looking up at her silver eyes. "I'm guessing that Summer is asleep?"

"Yep! She was quite the roadrunner today. You should've seen it. It was so adorable."
"Aw, I'm kind of jealous of you."
"Don't worry, you'll see it. She'll probably do it tomorrow."
"Yeah..."
"...Are you sure it's just work that's bothering you?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. I just hate missing moments like that..."
"Like I said, you'll see it. Now just rest Y/N. You deserve it."
"Alright, alright. Love you."
"Love you too."

As Y/N began to close his eyes, he could've sworn he heard the sound of beeping. It sounded much like a heart monitor.

Beep...
Beep...
Beep...
Beep...
Beep...

"Huh... that's weird..." Finally, as he shut his eyes fully, he heard... Nothing. Absolute silence.
