chapter seven!

season 2, episode 5 - love fool!

MIA STILL COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE GOING TO spend the night at the country club.  "Are you sure this is a good idea? What if we get caught?" she asked as she stood by the door.  "I don't think we're going to.  Plus, we can just use my mom's key code."  Mia furrowed her eyebrows, looking at him.  "Cam, no.  What if she gets in trouble?"

"She works at the most randomest hours.  She isn't going to get in trouble."  Cam scans the card, holding the door for them.  As everyone went inside, Mia looked worried.  "Mia, relax.  As long as we don't make a mess, we'll be good."  The girl sighed, "Alright, I'll relax.  But if anything happens, just remember that I told you so."

"Nothing is going to happen."

"You don't sound so sure about that."  Cam playfully rolled his eyes, "Let's just go inside."  Mia walked into the hallway as Cam followed behind her.  The kids decided to split up to get food, drinks, and blankets to keep them warm.  Mia was on food duty, going into the kitchen. She found some cookies and cinnamon rolls, placing them in a tray. "I guess we'll have these for dessert." she stated, placing them on the cart. "That is if we have any room in our stomachs after dinner."

"Sounds good to me." Skye stated. "I heard something crazy today. You know that guy Liam Meyer? That rich kid from the East Side? I heard he bought a Maserati and then crashed it two days later."  Skye's jaw dropped in shock, "Okay, so I know the answer is likely 'daddy's money' but, um, how did a kid afford a Maserati?"

"Yeah, well, that was a whole other thing, because, uh, his grandparents had, like, this trust fund for him.  He got a judge to let him access it a couple of years early.  Boom.  Maserati."

"He got a judge involved?"  Cam nodded his head, looking at Conrad.  "Yeah, his parents were pissed."  Skye shook their head, "Cam Cameron, fountain of gossip.  I did not expect that side of you."  The curly haired boy shrugged his shoulders as he softly chuckled, "You know, I have layers."

"Like onions." Mia added, making Skye laugh.  "A fellow Shrek fan, I see."

"It's a classic.  I used to watch it a lot with Cam when we were kids."

"Aw, that's so cute." Skye stated.  "Mia would get so scared of the dragon that she used to make me cover her eyes until the scene was over."

"I was six! Of course I was going to get scared! If I remember correctly, you made me cover your eyes when Shrek and Fiona kissed."

"I never liked kiss scenes!"  Mia laughed, wearing a smile.  "Alright, alright! But we should probably get going.  Everyone's probably hungry by now."  Skye, Cam, Conrad, and Mia placed the food in the projector room, noticing Belly and Jeremiah were there.  Kiara wasn't there since she was hanging out with Nicole, Olivia was helping her brother, and Alan was sleeping at home.  Alex and Sam were sitting next to each other, too busy talking to notice them.

This was going to be a long night.

TAYLOR AND STEVEN WERE FOUND AS THEY ALL ATE SOME food while watching a movie.  The blonde was sitting on the floor, trying to poke a hole in an apple.  Cam kept glancing nervously at her, trying to keep his cool.  "Would this be a bad time to say I told you so?" Mia whispered as the boy groaned.  "Seriously? Right now?"

"What? I was actually right this time."

"Fine, fine, you were right."  Jeremiah laughed, "All right, uh, well, why don't we take this outside before Cam Cameron has a stroke?"  As soon as he said that, the kids walked on the golf course.  Cam was driving a golf cart with Conrad, Steven, and Jeremiah in the back.  Sam and Alex followed behind them, finding their antics funny.  "Do you think your friends will be able to get their house back?" Sam asked.

"I hope so.  That house was very special to their mom.  It's messed up that their aunt sold it without telling them."

"Wait... isn't your mom a lawyer? Maybe she could help them?"

"Sam... you're a genius!"

"I am?"

"Yes! I'll ask her when I get back home."  They all sat on some blankets, sitting in a circle.  "Let's continue playing Truth or Dare." Belly insisted as Cam and Conrad set up the food.  "Where do you, uh, see yourself in the next ten years?"

Conrad thought about it for a minute, "Here, honestly.  Coming back to Cousins.  Fourth of July barbecues, digging for clams, serving with Jere..."

"Making pomegranate margaritas."

"Married?"  Taylor smiled, "Mia's already got her priorities straight."  Skye nodded their head, "That's understandable.  Uh... okay... let me give it a try."

"You got this, Skye." Alex stated, earning a few cheers from the others.  "Mia. I dare you to, uh, kiss Cam."  Silence fell as the curly haired boy looked at her, unsure of what to do. Mia quickly gave him a kiss on the cheek, sitting back in the circle. "You actually kissed him?" Belly asked, looking in disbelief. "What? Skye dared me to."

Truth or Dare eventually came to an end as the kids started to get tired.  Mia quickly texted her parents that she'd see them in the morning and that they were okay.  "Are you okay, Knight?"  She turned around, noticing Cam.  "Yeah, I'm fine.  Why?"

"I didn't think you'd kiss me tonight... especially what happened on Halloween."

"We were in front of our friends.  I couldn't just not do the dare.  It's called Truth or Dare for a reason, Cam."

"I know that.  I thought you would've hesitated."

"It was Skye's first time playing this.  Plus, their dare was completely harmless.  It was just a kiss."  Cam forced a smile, "Yeah, just a kiss."

"But I'm gonna get some sleep.  Good night, Cam."  As she walked towards the blankets, Cam couldn't help but scoff.  He didn't really know why he felt so disappointed when she said that the kiss didn't really matter.  It was just a dare and Mia was his friend.

A friend that he found pretty.

Maya Speaks 💫:

J*r*m*ah needs to be a trigger warning because he's so ICKYY (I almost lost my sanity when that monstrosity of a character came on my screen) But on the bright side, Mia and Cam are in their friendship era... they won't be that way for long 🤭

I'm sad that this book is almost done like wdym i have six more drafts??? huh?? (I'm being deadass) 😔 But some of my books should be updated soon!
