Smile

"Hey Hoseok?"

"Hm?"

"Do I smile enough?"

The man snaps his head up and gazes at Namjoon in amazement. "Huh?" Hobi asks, furrowing his brows.

"Do I smile enough?" Namjoon repeats, sinking back in his chair.

"Uh... I don't know, I only see you a couple hours a day, sir," Hoseok replies with a shrug.

Namjoon slowly nods, peeking at the file on his desk. Park Corporations. Apparently they're not as bad as they seem. According to Yoongi, anyway. Secretly, Namjoon knows it's because Yoongi has a thing for Mr. Park. It was obvious in the way he avoided talking about it while Jin gave the man knowing smirks. Namjoon decided against asking.

"Who's that girl you're dating? Uh, what's her name...?"

"Winter?" Hoseok asks, raising a brow.

"Yeah, Winter. How is it?"

"What? The relationship?" Hoseok asks. Namjoon hums. "It's really good, why?"

Namjoon sighs, tapping the back of his pencil against the file. "No reason, just wondering what it feels like."

"What?"

"Love," Namjoon replies. "It's been two years since I've fallen for someone."

"Two years?"

"Yeah, hard to believe, right? Rich businessman can't find a girl," Namjoon grumbles to himself. "Jesus, my biggest competitor is swaying Yoongi's heart but I can't even find a girl I'm interested in. How did Min Yoongi score before me?"

"To be fair, Yoongi goes out a lot more than you. And this is Yoongi we're talking about. That's saying something."

"Really?"

Hoseok nods. "Really."

Namjoon rubs his temple with his fingers, a move he makes often when he's stressed. "I'm the most likely to die single in my whole company, aren't I?"

"Yep, pretty much. I think even Jin will get a girl before you," Hoseok says.

Namjoon lets out a long sigh. "You know what? I'm going to go back to drowning myself with work now. You can take it easy today, don't overwork yourself."

"You okay, sir?"

"You know you can just call me Namjoon, right?"

Hoseok snickers. "Are you sure? I figured we were too professional for that."

"We've known each other long enough, Hobi. You can call me Namjoon even at work."

Hoseok's eyes widen. "Alright, you're acting strange today. Have you been hanging out with Jin too much?"

Namjoon gives Hoseok a 'really' look. "Ten seconds with Jin is what I consider 'too much'."

"You two bicker like an old married couple," Hoseok says with a small laugh.

"You're demoted," Namjoon replies, Hoseok faking an angry face. "Alright alright, dismissed. Go make sure Yoongi isn't drooling over pictures of Jimin."

"Hate to break it to you, but Yoongi's been locked in his office doing that all day." Namjoon grunts and buries his face in his hands.

"I give up with this man."

~Later~

"Dinner tonight?" Jimin's voice says.

Yoongi gulps down his nerves, trying to show his cool side. "Do you know how to cook?"

"Believe it or not, Mr. Min, I do," Jimin sassily replies. "I'm hurt. Never assume, I can do a lot of things. I'm sure you'll find that out soon enough."

Despite himself, Yoongi blushes, grateful that this is just a phone call and not an in-person conversation. The last thing he needs is to be teased by a man with unicorn hair of all things. No, that's mortally embarrassing. Yoongi would faint on spot.

"Your place?" Yoongi asks, earning him a hum from Mr. Park.

"Why of course. I'll have a candlelight dinner set up for us by six. Don't eat today, let me spoil you tonight."

Okay, Yoongi's flustered. "I'll be there right at six."

Yoongi bites his tongue for a moment, then sighs. Okay, this is going to hurt, but he has to say it. Be nice, this man is taking care of you, Min Yoongi. Two words, it's not that hard.

"Thank you," Yoongi manages to say.

"The Min Yoongi, thanking me? Wow, I must be dreaming. You're welcome, anything for someone as handsome as you."

Is this man trying to give Yoongi a gay panic attack? "Yeah, uh, Jimin?"

"Yes Yoons?" Jimin asks. Yoons? Jimin's calling Yoongi nicknames now?

"I like meat," Yoongi says.

Jimin chuckles. "Noted. You'll get some both during and after dinner, how about that?"

"I'm hanging up now."

"No wait-"

Yoongi hangs up the phone, his entire face burning. He did not take Jimin for an alpha. Truthfully, he probably isn't. He's probably just a big flirt. Yoongi saw him in the office, he was scared shitless to ask for Yoongi's number.

Yoongi lets out a long sigh. He's going to dinner with Park Jimin of all people. He's going to sit down, eat homecooked food, and talk to their biggest competitor. Yoongi gazes up at the ceiling, contemplating his life decisions.

Well, on the bright side, at least he's cute.

~~~
"Really?"
Jimin shrugs, sinking back in his chair. "Was I overstepping?"
"You're scaring the poor man off already," Tae replies with a huff.
Tae, Jungkook, and Y/n are all in his office. Y/n sits in the corner, humming to herself while she organizes all his files. Jungkook is standing off to the side while helplessly staring at Taehyung. Ugh, can these two just date already?
"I think there should be more workplace romance, what do you say, Kook?" Jimin asks the poor boy.
He's here since he got moved to Tae's department, so Jimin asked Tae to help the younger man move from Jimin's office down to Tae's area. Of course Jimin couldn't resist playing Cupid. He's Park Ji-motherfucking-min. He's the biggest Cupid around. As he told Y/n once, his beauty has been bringing people together since 1995.
"Uh," Jungkook mutters, averting his eyes from Taehyung. Y/n notices the commotion, rolling her eyes as she stands. Jimin watches as she heads over, stopping in front of Tae.
"Hey Tae?"
"Yes pumpkin?"
She scrunches up her face in disgust. "Okay, you know what? I'll let that comment slide for a moment. Do you like men?"
Taehyung grins. "Who doesn't?"
She turns to Jungkook. "Do you like men?" He shakily nods. Again, she turns back to Tae. "Are you single?"
"Yeah?"
"Jungkook, are you single?"
"Yeah."
"There, now please fuck," she replies with a groan, strolling back over to her corner.
"This is why she's my best friend," Jimin points out.
Tae gets flustered, turning to Jungkook, who's equally embarrassed.
"Oh my God, this is exactly what I mean! Jungkook stares at Taehyung all day, and Tae? We both know you've been ogling Jungkook's ass. I don't blame you, but come on man! Act on it already!" Y/n says in a hiss.
"I-I have some work I have to do, I'll talk to you later, sir," Jungkook says, bowing to Jimin.
"Oh nu-uh, Tae here has to help you move to his department, remember? That first, then you can work. That's an order," Jimin replies, placing both his feet on his desk while smirking. Y/n snickers from her corner, giving Jimin a mischievous look.
"Okay, uh, let's go, Kook," Tae mumbles, grabbing the box of stuff from Jungkook's hands.
"Awww, what a gentleman. Isn't he great, Kookie?" Y/n says in a gushing tone, the man glaring at her before following Tae out of the room. As soon as the door closes behind them, Y/n and Jimin break out into laughter.
"Y-You're insane," Jimin stutters out in between his squeaky giggles.
"Not as insane as you!" she replies, laughing just as hard.
They take a few moments to breathe and dial down before locking eyes with each other.
"Your bags are gone," he points out, noticing how well rested she seems compared to a few days ago.
"My bags are permanent, it's called makeup," she teases.
"Mhm, your skin is glowing and I know you hate putting on lots of makeup," he replies. "Although you do have a strange obsession with eyeshadow."
"It's called staying with the trends, everyone loves cool eyeshadow now," she says, pouting while crossing her arms on her chest.
He chuckles at her cuteness. "Right, totally not because you have an obsession with eyeshadow. But I'm glad you're getting rest, babe. Try and get some more tonight, okay?"
"Babe? That's a new one. What happened to sweetheart and princess and sweetie and dear and my love and my precious and-"
"Okay okay, I get it," he interrupts with a giggle. "I'm sorry, princess. I'll save babe for Yoongi."
She laughs. "You're the biggest flirt ever."
His lips turn up into one of his signature smirks, his tongue dashing out to lick his lower lip. "You should learn a thing or two from me. Flirt with someone, hm? Get some practice so you can actually get a partner." She gives him a 'seriously?' look that he nods to. "I'm serious, sweetheart. We're best friends. What you do I do and vice versa. I'm getting laid, and Yoongi doesn't seem like the type to like threesomes, so you gotta go get laid elsewhere."
"Ugh. Park Jimin. Why am I friends with you?"
He smiles and pokes his squishy cheeks. "Because I'm cute."
She shakes her head. "What am I gonna do with you?"
"Help me get in Yoongi's pants."
"You know what, Chim?" she asks.
He gives her a cocky grin. "What?"
"I regret agreeing to be your assistant."
~Dreamscape~
The first thing Namjoon does when he sees her is smile.
Even she's amazed by his actions as they come closer together, the familiar world entering their vision. "I'm starting to think that this isn't going away anytime soon," she says.
Namjoon can't help but agree. This is the fourth time they've met while sleeping. That's weird. Granted, Namjoon is already fond of her (even more so than some of his co-workers), but he's still concerned. Why her? Why him?
"So, should we address the elephant in the room?" she asks, playing with her fingers.
"The elephant? What elephant?" Namjoon asks back.
"Should we sit and have a serious talk about this?"
"About our world? The dreams?"
She nods. "You claim you're real, but I don't know, our dreams being connected? Come on, that's ridiculous. Impossible."
She sits, him sitting with her as the grass tickles the bare skin on his arms. Instead of his normal long sleeved black shirt with matching black sweatpants, he's wearing a white t-shirt and gray sweatpants, which shows off his massive frame. She seems to notice his arms seeing as she keeps her eyes literally anywhere other than where he's sitting.
"Is it bad that I want you to be real? You feel realer to me than most things," she whispers.
In a rash move, he places his hand on top of hers, just like she did to him the second night they found each other.
"That's not bad at all. I want the same thing. I don't know how our dreams are connected. Honestly, I doubt we'll ever get an answer. You know what? Let's make a pact," he says, her staring at him in concern.
"A pact?"
"A pact. How about if these dreams ever stop for some random reason, we come here at night."
"Right here?" she asks, patting the ground underneath her.
"Right here. Around the time you'd sleep, come up here and look at Park Corporations with me. So we can find out if we're real or not."
"Why not try and meet up before then?" she asks, knitting her brows together.
"I, uh..."
"Unless you wanted to get to know each other more before then? Or unless you're fake, Mr. Kim," she replies, waggling her brows at him.
He laughs, a deep, booming laugh Namjoon hasn't had in a while. This girl, what is she doing to him?
"I'm real, I promise."
"Promise? That's a big commitment there, Joonie. If you break a promise I'll shave your eyebrows."
"I won't I won't, I promise that too," Namjoon says.
"Hey Joon?" He raises a brow. "I like your plan. With the whole meet up here thing, you know? How about we get to know each other more, the basic bullshit like favorite color and food."
Namjoon chuckles. "I like that plan too." They go quiet for a few moments, then Namjoon smiles. "Black."
"Huh?"
"Black, pink, and purple. My favorite colors. What about you?" he asks, giving her hand a small squeeze.
"Navy blue."
"Oh yeah?"
She motions to the night sky. "Dark blue, black. Close enough, but it wasn't always that color."
"What do you mean?"
"At first I really liked red, but now, the night sky is even more special to me," she says.
"Why?" he asks. She turns to him, and her gorgeous eyes meet his. The moonlight reflects off her irises, making her look like an angel of the night.
"Every time I look at it, it reminds me of you."
