CHAPTER 4: THE GAME

Khushi rushed and crashed on Rohan who came searching for her. He looked at her disheveled state and pulled her to one dark corner and cupped her face.

Rohan: Khushi? What is wrong? Why are you like this?

Khushi: N.. No.. Nothing Rohan. Just fell down.

Rohan: WHAT???

Khushi: Don't shout and panic everyone. Just a small accident on washroom.

Rohan: don't you dare. Are you hurt? First let me check.

Saying he ran his hands through her face and hair. But as he was about to reach the back of her neck when her hands halted his half way through.

Rohan: khushi? What?

Khushi: I am fine.

Rohan: Let me ensure myself.

Khushi pushed him away heaving breathlessly.

Khushi: What is wrong with you rohan?

Rohan: Wrong with me? I should be asking that? What is wrong with you?

Khushi: I am fine. Why cant you understand. Why cant you just leave me alone?

Rohan: princess? Why are you being indifferent? What happened? Anything wrong?

Khushi closed her eyes and sighed.

Khushi: Rohan. Please leave me alone for sometime. I need rest for sometime. My head is cracking.

Rohan: Head? Khushi...

Khushi: Please leave me alone. Do me this favor. I will go to the room and sleep for sometime. Tell Amma not to disturb me. And if possible please take Soham with you. Then I will have some peace.

Rohan shook his head in disbelief seeing this bro sis and went to do the favor she asked.

Khushi took her car and went to her home. She ran to her room parking her car and collapsed on her bed after locking the room door.

She couldn't took a look at herself in the mirror and touched the love bite he gave her. She hissed in pain as it turned blue and black with passing time. She couldn't take his touch on her body which she believed to be belonging to only Rohan. She ran to bathroom and stood under the shower. As the warm water descended on her body, instead of calming down, her tears started flowing more as the places he touched started burning under the rush of water.

Khushi: What have you done? Darinda. Jaanvar!! You don't have any idea what this means to me. You have laid your eyes on my pride. I have never seen such a selfish and hungry animal like you. Because of you I was at the verge of fighting and spilling the beans out to Rohan. He loves me so much. If anything happens, you will never be forgiven. NEVER n EVER.

She again fell on her bed dressing herself in a full Chinese neck dress covering the marks on her skin. Suddenly she heard the door knock. She panicked.

Khushi: Who is there?

Soham: Your bhoot? Any problem in welcoming?

Khushi: Soham. Just get out of here. I am in no mood to fight with you.

Soham: Oh come on Di. When did u require mood to pick up a fight with me?

Khushi opened the door and stood there glaring at him.

Khushi: I remember asking Rohan to take you with him tonight.

Soham waved his hand dramatically.

Soham: What to do? I cant sleep without fighting with my chudail Di.

Khushi: not now Soham. Let me rest.

Soham felt something wrong as she never leaves a chance to pull his legs.

Soham: Di!! What is wrong? And why are wearing this? you never liked it when Kapoor aunty brought it na?

Khushi: I SAID LEAVE FROM HERE!!

Soham flinched for a minute and then he heard Raksha Kapoor calling him. He turned and went down. But halted on his steps as he heard Khushi shutting the door hard. This woke up the possessive brother in him.

Soham: something is terribly wrong with DI.

He went down to see off Lavanya to her Sasural with other Kapoor and left Khushi behind as Rohan has informed everyone about her tiredness. Well it was a bit difficult to convince Lavanya. After all they were best friends. But eventually she accepted.

Among all this confusion one person was happy. It was none other than our beast Arnav. He followed Khushi who ran from washroom and saw what he actually wanted to see. Khushi yelling at Rohan. Now he knew that he dint need to work hard. The apple was falling in his mouth directly from the tree. He smirked thinking about his next move and left to his place after informing Rohan. He started working on his thoughts.

Arnav: Beauty with body and mouth. Deadly combination!! But beauty is what I want. You had the thing in you to reject me and talk non sense to me and go easy with it. Then you are mistaken Ms. Gupta. Now let me see how your proud love saves you. I will not rest till you cease to exist. You have scratched on my wrong side. You will face the consequences and I will see to that you regret for living after daring to stand up to me. No one does that ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA. The Game starts!!

After the pag phere, Rohan started going to the office. But there were some pre marriage rituals of his marriage too. So he started to take some hours from office. Surprisingly Arnav never complained about it which made Rohan more happy. But he was loyal to his work too. He used to do work from home and surprising him yet again Arnav himself used to come home to collect the completed files. Least he knew the plan cooking in his beast mind. Once when he was in Kapoor mansion, Arnav saw Khushi coming in with some dishes in her hands calling out for Rohan and his mother.

Khushi: AUNTY!!! IDIOT ROHAN!! WHERE ARE YOU?

Rohan: Here in Study Khushi.

He missed the smirk on Arnav;s face.

Khushi: Hey Amma has given Shahi paneer for you people. Get it from me. Its heavy.

When Rohan was about to get up, Arnav held his hands and made him sit down.

Arnav: You do the changes in this Malhotra file. Let me see it.

Here Khushi tripped on the slippery carpet but before she could fall down Arnav caught her and the dish before it spilled. Khushi closed her eyes inviting the pain which never came. Instead there was a soft caress on her waist which made her remember the caress. Her eyes flew open and met the molten chocolate brown eyes which readily held her hazel ones. After few minutes Khushi jerked from his hold and panted heavily.

Khushi: BADTAMEEZ!! How dare you??

Before Arnav could teach some Tameez, Rohan came there with the file.

Rohan: Sir, The changes are made. Please check them. And.. He halted as he saw heavily Panting Khushi and Arnav's tensed back.

Rohan: Princess?? What happened?

Khushi: How do you let such perverts inside Rohan?

Rohan: KHUSHI!! He is my boss for god sake.

Khushi grasped sharply.

Khushi: B.. B.. Boss?

Arnav: Yes. You must be his fiance I suppose?

Rohan: You knew sir?

Arnav: a simple guess Rohan. Who else can trap my so loyal employee to make him run behind her leaving all the work than this beautiful girl?

Khushi was embarrassed while Rohan blushed.

Khushi: Rohan. Its better I leave. Ask Aunty to call Amma after dinner.

Arnav: Well I should also leave. I am getting late.

Before Arnav could turn, Khushi was out of there. But Arnav caught her out of the door.

Arnav: Looks like you saw the consequences of messing with me Ms. Gupta?

Khushi: What do you mean?

Arnav: Your would be husband works for me. Which means that your future lies in my hand.

Khushi: In your dreams Mr. Raizada. I know to mend my ways and secure OUR future.

Arnav: Bold are we? You will soon know the consequences of messing with me.

Khushi: If you are done.. Good bye!!

She left leaving him to stand amused. Then he too left. From that day onwards Rohan started getting calls saying that Khushi was cheating on him. but Rohan who had enormous trust on Khushi never took it seriously. Once he was in meeting with Arnav in office. Suddenty Arnav asked.

Arnav: Is your fiance very friendly with guys. I mean does she have many guys as her friends?

Rohan was taken aback for sometime. But he composed soon.

Rohan: No sir. She is a very shy girl to outsiders. But she is very straight forward too.

Arnav: I see!! I saw her with a guy in a coffee shop. She looked so comfortable with him. So I presumed to be her friend.

Rohan dint have words for few seconds but he convinced himself saying it must be Soham or his friends. He said the same to Arnav too who just nodded. From that time Rohan started feeling difference when Khushi was around. He knew that Khushi was never comfortable when they get intimate. He dint take it seriously then. But now everything appeared different to him. He felt as if Khushi was like this only to him. He started to observe her closely. But when we wear black goggles and look around, everything appears black only. Same way Rohan started to feel her every move fishy. But he never showed it to her. He behaved normal.

One Saturday evening all were gathered in the terrace of Gupta house. It was a habit. Being family friends, every weekend they used to gather in a terrace and have dinner together chatting and gossiping. They were chatting and laughing and waiting for Khushi to come for dinner. Khushi went to get her dresses which were given for stitching. But it was getting late. Soham started calling her. But there was no response. Suddenly Arnav made his entry and look scandalized at Rohan.

Arnav: Rohan!! If you are here, then with whom Khushi was boarding the train?

Shashi: What are you saying Mr. Raizada.

Arnav: I am saying the truth. Today morning Rohan asked for 2 days off and I thought it was about his marriage. I went to railway station for some personal work when I saw his would be wife that is your daughter boarding a train to Kolkata with a guy. I presumed to be Rohan. So I came to drop a file which he said he will complete. I thought he will do it after his return. But what is he doing here? Mainly who was with Ms. Gupta?

All were shocked to hear this news while Rohan was outraged.

Rohan: She dared!!

Garima: What are you saying?

Rohan: She dared to elope with that filth with whom she cheated on me. She DARED!!

Arnav Smirked and thought

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

While somewhere in dark road a SUV was driving with an unconscious Khushi tied laying on the back seat.
