Chapter 11
"I really wonder how Naruto is doing right now..." Sasuke murmured and Hinata who stuck close to him to fend away his fangirls looked at him with sad eyes. She knew he still blamed himself for whatever that had happened to Naruto, she had confronted him about Naruto and that he wouldn't like it if the raven had kept bottling things up. With that statement, the raven had broke down crying and confessed everything he did and said to the blond. That had been three years ago and the two soon became close friends, turning to each other for help and comfort. The two were so close to dating but they were kinda conflicted about their feelings for each other so they kept quiet about it, refusing to tell each other that tiny little secret. Hinata had kinda liked Sasuke and so did Sasuke kinda liking Hinata but they didn't know the extent of their love for each other, so keeping quiet was the best option in case they ridiculed themselves. They both know the Hyuuga clan would have been pleased with the decision if Hinata ever decided to date Uchiha Sasuke, so would the council. It would have been a whole new bloodline formed and it would be so powerful that it would be Konoha's ultimate weapon. If Naruto ever found out about their feelings, he would have goaded them into doing something - like admitting their love to each other and then start dating. Or the blond would have attempted to stage some sort of accident and bam! The two would be dating the next thing you know and the council would be gone so that the two could date without fear that if they get married and have babies that their children would be used as a weapon. (I don't really ship Sasuhina but... I really don't want Sasuke with sakura because I made sakura bitchy here so! Sasuke deserves someone better!)
Was that how Naruto had felt? Knowing that he was the village's ultimate weapon ready to be deployed to kill of enemies in cold blood, expected to be a good little pet to the village even with the harsh treatments? The Naruto they know would never lower himself to be treated like that. The Naruto they know would have helped if one of his comrades were the jinchuriki instead but... They didn't help him, he must have felt so betrayed.
"I am sure he is doing well Sasuke."
"But, but... His dream was to be hokage. He will never be hokage if he is still exiled!" Sasuke whispered back, sounded slightly agitated. Hinata sighed at Sasuke's worried expression. "What if he isn't doing well? What if he is hungry?-"
"Stop it Sasuke. He wouldn't want you to worry yourself like that. He is the number one most unpredictable ninja. He will know how to survive. If he managed to survive the harsh treatments, he can survive anything." Hinata snapped quietly.
"Hinata-sama is right, Sasuke-san." Neji said, drawing up next to the two conversing quietly. Sasuke wanted to glare at them, couldn't they tell that he would always be worried no matter what they say.
When they stepped into the borders of Uzushiogakure, they slowed to a walking speed and kept that speed as they slowly approached the village gate. When they reached a clearing, two ninjas clad in black cloak stepped casually into view, their faces hidden from the large group of ninjas. "What do you think you're doing in Uzushiogakure?" A voice asked, sounding serious. They couldn't tell what the gender was, nor could they tell who it came from. Was it the taller one or the shorty? Shikamaru stepped forward, showing his hands as a sign that he was unarmed. "We came in peace. Konohagakure wishes to acquaint themselves with Uzushiogakure." The two unknown nins tensed slightly but the group soon realised they hadn't tensed because of the statement. They could now barely sense a group of chakra signatures dashing their way, straight towards the two Uzu nins. A blur appeared as the first few nins came into view. Metals clanked loudly, cutting through the almost peaceful atmosphere. "Seems like we came back from our mission at the right f*ing time." A nin, clad in the same cloak as the first two had said, sounding like he was grinning.
"We can protect ourselves you know?" A voice drawled smoothly. It sounded slightly different from the first one they have heard. They also couldn't tell if this was a boy or a girl or who it came from. "Absolutely. But it is still my duty to protect you, plus! I still have a lot of pent up energy, I need to burn it off."
"Don't kill them." The second voice said seriously.
"Hai." Came a response and the next second the ninjas that have tried to attack were down on the ground.
"Hey! They were mine!" The man who stated they came back exclaimed, sounding like he was pouting but they couldn't be sure as the cloak hood had covered his face. "You can't just genjutsu them! That's no fun."
"You can always play with them later." The first voice said, now they could hear hints of it being a male's voice. Another way of saying they could be tortured. The bodies were picked up and lunged back to the village. "Kit and Taichou sitting under a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N- gahhhh!" A childish voice had called out, everyone turned and saw a ninja in Uzu cloak sitting on a branch before a wind jutsu was fired their direction and the nin was forced to jump away.
"If you don't leave Tobi, I swear to kami I would turn you into fried chicken." The second voice warned, almost growling. The Konoha ninjas could now tell it came from the smaller one as the smaller one was a bit more tensed.
"How are you gonna do that?" The nin, supposedly called Tobi asked, jumping around merrily.
"He has the genjutsu, I have the Katon..." The second voice said, sounding like they would actually carry out their plan. Tobi gulped loudly before he started inching away.
"I think I'll just go home and uh... Prepare dinner!" Tobi said, finding a lame excuse before bolting off into the direction of the village. The taller one seemed to sigh as shown by the body movements. "I hope he doesn't burn the house down."
