THE SPORTS FESTIVAL ENDED WITH A BANG AND THE STUDENT COUNCIL WAS REJOICING IN THE OFFICE. You were smiling at the members who were jumping up and down from the success and you were eating pizza in the student council room. Yshi had treated all of you with pizza, soda, and a few alcoholic drinks for the fun of it and of course, she was there to supervise all of you and probably to prevent any drunk council members from walking around campus. Other groups—especially the seniors who won most of the sports at the festival—were celebrating around the school as well. Shota was too busy to even notice that most of the students were bringing in alcoholic drinks inside the campus.

Today also marks the end of half of your school year—signaling the summer break coming in and Hitoshi's birthday just around a few hours as well. "Congratulations, (your name)!" Yshi patted your back as she handed you a red cup to which you declined. "Oh, c'mon! Your father's not around anyway!"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Yshi! I really can't drink!" you waved your hands in front of you and Yshi smiled. "You really are like your father sometimes, (your name)," She patted your head and grinned, leaning closely to whisper something. "Don't tell him I said this but I think you're nicer..." The comment made you laugh and you grabbed the cup from her hand. "I think you're just drunk, Ms. Yshi..." you smiled as you held on to the cup while the female laughed. "I don't get drunk easily, darling."

"You've been drinking since this morning. I'll have this, thank you," you said as Yshi chuckles once again. Yshi spewed out some more nonsense before you left and placed the red cup in front of a now bored lilac haired male. "Somebody seems to be not enjoying the celebratory party," you said while sitting on the chair right in front of him. His finger tapped on the table as he took a deep breath. You squinted so you could scan his face a bit more and you could see that his cheeks were flushed and his eyes were droopy. "Hitoshi?" you waved your hand in front of him and he shook his head, finally giving his attention to you. "Y-yeah? Sorry, I'm just... a little dizzy..."

"Did you drink?" you chuckled as you placed the cup away from both of you now. Hitoshi made a sign with his hand that he only drank a little as he closed one of his eyes. "I don't think that's a little when you're acting like that..." you slapped his hand away from your vision and he placed it back down on the table, his gaze glued on to you. "Why are you staring, idiot?" Hitoshi's eyes widened as you asked the question and he hid his face with his hands, groaning in response. "O-okay! I'm sorry!" you laughed, slowly standing up, and grabbing his hands from the other side of the table. Your soft skin felt warm on his and he felt himself turn even redder when his hands were finally back down on the table with yours on top of them.

He stared at your hands and looked up back to you, grinning and chuckling. "I love you, (your name)~," Hitoshi stated as he crinkled his nose and shook his head lightly. "Mhm, yeah, you're drunk. Do you want to go home? I'll take you home?" you asked as you stood up and walked away from the male, picking up your and his bag. The juniors begged for you to stay but you told them you'd come back once you finish taking Hitoshi home. "I don't wanna go yet." The taller male whined as you pushed him out of the council door and using your feet to close it.

"We have to!" you stopped pushing him when you reached the end of the hallway and placed your hands on your hips. "It's going to be your big day tomorrow and summer starts as well so, you need to take a rest too..." Hitoshi wrapped his arms around your head and pulled you closer to his chest; you can feel his heart beat loudly while you hugged him back. "I love you, (your name)..." he said once again as he rested his chin on top of your head. "I wuv you~!"

"Go home, Hitoshi. You're drunk."

You hit the lilac haired male on the chest with your fist as you chuckled. Hitoshi kept hugging you until you finally decided to break free from his grasp. "Why are you so clingy when you're drunk?" Hitoshi was about to answer but a voice made the two of you look behind you in shock—it was Katsuki. Hitoshi's drunk state was overpowered by his rage as he glared at the male who was nearing both of you. "Look, I mean no harm... I just want to talk to (your name)..." he said while Hitoshi held your wrist tightly, his glare never leaving the blonde male. "May I?"

The two of you looked at one another; Hitoshi's eyes begging you to say no but you cupped his cheek and gave him a comforting smile. "You can wait here. I'll talk to him for a moment, okay? I'll be back." Hitoshi let go of your wrist and you started to walk away with Katsuki, who was a bit calmer than usual. "So, what did you want to talk about?" you finally asked when both of you were in a slightly secluded area, a few students passing by here and there. The sky had begun to tint itself with orange and the winds were warmer than it used to be.

"I just wanted to apologize about yesterday," Katsuki looked away as he glared at nothing. Apologizing was not his thing but here he was in front of you, asking for it because he felt guilty and the drinks they shared with a few guys made him had the guts to lower his pride. "Maybe, I was just a bit careless with my own emotions and jealousy got the best of me. I should have respected your decision about rejecting me a year ago..." Your lips showed a faint smile as your hand was firmly placed on Katsuki's shoulder. "It's alright but this is not like you... did you manage to get drunk while drinking again?" you chortled as the male let out a small grunt along with his nod. "I also got guilty for doing shit that was really not something I would do..."

You pulled the spiky blonde male in for a hug, your chin resting on his shoulder. "Hey, I'm sorry for rejecting you and hurting your feelings but you know I can never like you like that..." you whispered as you felt him hugging you back. "You're like a brother to me!" you exclaimed as you pulled away but keeping your hands on his shoulders. "Brother?" He scoffed as he looked away. "I've been sibling-zoned!" Both of you managed to let out a burst of strong laughter, holding on to your stomachs and finally easing the tension between the two of you. "I really need to get back to Hitoshi, Katsuki."

"Let me walk you to him," he offered as the two of you continued to have a small casual conversation about the success of the sports festival, and both of you congratulating one another for your victories. When you arrived, you were shocked to see that he wasn't in the spot he was waiting in and you started to worry. You went back to the student council room and asked if they had seen him but there were only answers of disapproval. In his side of the story—just minutes before you arrived at the spot—he had received a text from his landlord that the apartment he was staying in was bought by none other than your father and the school board to turn into a dormitory for next year. So, he had to grab his stuff and head to the café where Sero and Mei were.

"You look terrible, what the fuck happened to you?!" Mei asked as she went away from the counter to help Hitoshi with his bags. "I got kicked out of my apartment. I'm homeless!" Hitoshi said as he slumped on to a nearby chair, Mei looking back at Sero. The dark-haired male parted his lips as the both felt sorry for their friend. It was a good thing the café closed early so the two had tried to help Hitoshi find a new place to stay in—one that was cheap and near the school but to no avail. "Why don't you just crash at my place for the night, Hitoshi?" Sero offered as he smiled a little. "And then we can try again tomorrow."

Hitoshi smiled bitterly. "What a great way to start my birthday countdown."

✧ ✧ ✧

"YOU DID WHAT NOW, SHOTA?"

"You heard me, Naomi." Her husband said as he fixed his shirt inside a suitcase. "We decided to buy the old apartment near the school to turn into dormitories. We asked the people to leave at once." At this moment, Naomi wasn't sure if this was the Shota that had cared for other people as well. "Don't you think it's a little too harsh?" She asked knowing full well that that was where Hitoshi had lived. "Aren't you being a little inconsiderate? What about the people living there?" Naomi's voice showed a little frustration but the way her eyebrows were stitched to one another and her expression worried, it didn't faze Shota at all.

"They can find someplace to live."

Those were the last words Naomi heard from Shota before leaving for his trip along with the other board members of the school. They were going on a summer seminar somewhere and that lasted for at least the whole summer. Naomi chewed on her fingernails as she thought about Hitoshi. Where was he? Was he safe? Is he alright? Does (your name) know? You were still in your bedroom, fast asleep, taking a breather from all the sleepless nights you pulled throughout the first half of the school year. Eri was still also asleep and she was the only one awake.

"I should contact him..." Naomi muttered to herself. She quickly grabbed her phone and tapped on the contacts, looking for a specific name. When she found it, she dialed the number and it quickly picked up and Naomi could clearly hear the sniffles on the other line as the male tried to hide his own pain. "H-hey, mom... what's with t-the call so early?"

"And what's with the crying, Hitoshi?"

Today was Hitoshi's worst birthday—excluding the ones he didn't celebrate or the ones that included his stinking family. He had just broken down in Sero's guest room overthinking his homeless condition. Sero wanted him to stay with his family for a while until they find him a home but Hitoshi didn't want to seem like a nuisance to them. His father for some reason had managed to greet him as well but only to ask for money after. So, hearing Naomi's comforting voice was enough to make him cry again over the phone.

Naomi listened to him as he let out all his problems and she got guiltier upon knowing that today was also the male's birthday. "It's going to be alright, Hitoshi..." she whispered as she sat down on the couch, the male still sniffling on the other line. "Where are you? Let's meet up by 9 in the café, is that fine with you?" Naomi asked as she stood up, walking up the stairs up to your room. "M-mom, you don't really—," he was cut off by Naomi's persistence, and soon enough, after minutes of convincing him, he finally agreed to meet up with her.

The call ended and you were still sleeping soundly on your bed. That was until your mother decided to grab the pillow under your head and hit you with it, making you jump up from your slumber, looking around your messy room like an idiot. "Fuck me in the ass! Am I late for school?" you asked as the older female snorted at your question. "Oh yeah, right, it's summer... sorry..." you said as you laid back on the bed, grabbing the pillow from Naomi's hand and putting in over your head. "Yes and guess what day it is today too..."

You groaned as you sat back up again and thought about it, looking at the calendar in your room with the date circled with a thick red marker. "Ah shit—," your eyes widened as your mother finally cleared her throat, her hands on her hips. "Yes, now get up and get ready. He's already been having a rough day..." she said as a sigh escaped her lips. "We don't want to add up to that, do we (your name)?"

"I don't want to get up this early though..." you whined as you moved your whole body around. "Well, suck it up buttercup. I'm meeting with him by 9 and if I come back by the evening and this place isn't giving off the "Happy Birthday, Hitoshi" vibes... I'm not going to talk to you for a week." Naomi smiled as she patted your head, knowing full well you'd follow her order because one thing that you were afraid to do was not being able to talk to your mother. Eri, who walked groggily to your open door rubbed her eyes and yawned. "I-it's Hitoshi's b-birthday?"

The two of you nodded simultaneously causing the little girl to jump up and down. "Hooray! I'll go get my scissors!" she shouted as she ran to her room to go get her stuff. Naomi looked down on you still sitting on your bed and you groaned, finally standing up. "Alright, fine! I'll do it... just because you said so..."

"Not because you love him?" Naomi teased.

"...Mom..." you stopped yourself. "I can't believe you sometimes..."

HITOSHI WAITED BY THE CAFÉ DOOR, TWISTING HIS PHONE IN HIS HAND. To say that he was nervous was weak—he was feeling a bit more than that. His shoe was tapping on the sidewalk restlessly as he leaned on the café's wall just between the window and its' door. He wanted to back down but he was sure Naomi would be so disappointed and sad if he did and this caused an internal turmoil within the male—overthinking that he might have guilt-tripped Naomi into doing this.

Hitoshi took a deep breath and sighed.

"Hi, darling!" Naomi jumped out of nowhere causing the male to stumble from his original position. "Sorry... did I scare you?" Naomi grinned as she scratched the back of her head. Hitoshi gulped before relaxing, his once tense figure now easing as he watched Naomi smile. "Just startled, mom." The male smiled back at her and lowered his head, trying his best not to cry. The female walked near him almost startling him once she wrapped her arms around him. "There's no time to waste crying, okay?"

For almost 2 hours, the two had spent their time going around the mall shopping for clothing and other important stuff. Naomi spoiled the lilac haired male, causing him to go all soft and shy around her. The whole time Naomi treated him like a son and not just Eri's babysitter—telling him how good he looked when he tried out clothing and how she would gush over the little things he does like rubbing the back of his neck when he gets shy or the blush on his cheeks when he tries to decline her offer.

For a while, Hitoshi felt like Naomi was his mother.

"Hitoshi, let's go grab some ice cream!" she declared as she tugged on his arm.

"I don't really think it's—,"

"Come on!"

✧ ✧ ✧

BACK AT HOME, ERI HAD JUST FINISHED CUTTING OUR SMALL PURPLE HEARTS FOR A BIRTHDAY BANNER. You chuckled as you carried her, turning around, before putting her back to the ground. "I'm sure he's going to love that," you pinched the bridge of her nose causing Eri's face to scrunch up. You had just finished up putting the cake in the oven and cleaning up before preparing the plates and other food later. The apron hugging your waist and body was messy and your black hair was tied to a bun. Eri gazed at you with so much admiration and you felt your cheeks blushing as Eri smiled at you widely.

"What's wrong Eri?"

"You look like a mom!" she said while looking up at you.

"I do?" you cocked your eyebrows and placed your hands on your hips. "But I don't have a husband, Eri." You laughed as you turned back to go back to the kitchen to check on the cake but stopped once you heard Eri's response. "But you have Hitoshi, don't you?" her voice sounded so genuine and you were reminded of how Hitoshi just kept spurting out his admiration yesterday. You looked over your shoulder to Eri and shrugged. "I don't know yet, Eri..." you truthfully answered but the confusion and sadness in your eyes was clear enough to make the smaller female slump her shoulders and run to your legs to give you a small hug.

"W-what's—?" you were cut off by her looking up at you.

"Don't be sad, sis!" she scolded you, her off white-bluish hair slightly covering her face.

"I'm not..." you said as you grabbed her arm and tugged her to the kitchen. "Why don't you help me decorate the cake while I prepare the food for later?"

✧ ✧ ✧

HITOSHI AND NAOMI WERE ON THEIR WAY HOME AFTER A WHOLE DAY OF SHOPPING AND GOING AROUND TOWN. The two were now eating ice cream—the two of them chose pretty basic ice cream flavors. Hitoshi got himself a Double Dutch while Naomi got herself a Cookies and Cream because it reminds her of Shota. Naomi was driving and was taking him to Sero's house unbeknownst to him that the female had already decided to let him stay for the summer since Shota was not around.

"And then we take a turn here, right?"

Hitoshi nodded, biting on to the last bits of his ice cream cone. He felt like a child on the backseat of the Aizawa's car and even more so, he felt threatened as the car kind of smelled like you and it was wrapping around him like a hug. When they arrived, Hitoshi stayed put to where he was sitting, uncertain of what to say. "T-thank you..." he managed to use the remaining jiffs of his voice into a small appreciative whisper. "This has been a really nice birthday and..."

"...And it doesn't stop there," the female cut him off.

Hitoshi's violet eyes widened as he leaned back on the seat. "W-what do you mean, mom?"

"Until I can find you a better apartment, I'll be the one to shelter you." She said while she smiled, the mirror reflecting her and Hitoshi's face back at both of them. "I did adopt you, didn't I?" Hitoshi chuckled as he slowly shook his head. "Miss Naomi, you've already done enough. I couldn't—," he was again cut off by Naomi now looking at him from the driver's seat. "Hitoshi, I just can't bear to see you like this. Any mother who cares and loves you would feel the same..." Hitoshi stayed silent as he felt his throat conjure up a sob, his tears falling in his own eyes. "And probably, this is just my way of apologizing for the school's inconsiderate actions towards the people living in the apartment they bought..."

"I—don't know what to..."

"Happy Birthday, Hitoshi..." Naomi whispered as she fixed herself in her seat. "Please, go get your bags so I can take you home."

✧ ✧ ✧

YOU FELT YOURSELF YAWN AS YOU SLUMPED YOUR WHOLE BODY ON THE LIVING ROOM COUCH. Resting your head on the backrest, you sighed as you held up the box wrapped with purple cloth in front of you. Eri was laid her head on your lap as she counted her fingers from one to ten over and over again, waiting for your mother and Hitoshi to arrive. Eri made most of the cutouts for the design and you prepared most of the living room and the kitchen for it to look like a party. There were a few leftover balloons that you and Eri blew up to spread on the floor. Your mother had texted you 10 minutes ago that they were going home now and that both of you could relax if you were done.

Your eyes started to droop as you waited and soon enough you fell asleep on the couch with Eri watching you. What you didn't know is that Naomi and Hitoshi had finally arrived knocking on the door. Due to Eri's panic, she stood up and grabbed the small confetti she cut out with her small fists before opening the door with her elbow. "E-," Hitoshi was cut off by the small girl throwing purple confetti cut-outs.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY HITOSHI!" Eri shouted as she grinned widely.

Naomi walked past the small girl and patted her head. "Where's your sister?" Eri slumped as she pursed her lips looking down. Naomi crouched before picking the small girl up and walking to the living room with Hitoshi trailing behind with his stuff. When Hitoshi's eyes landed on the small party looking living room and the small banner that read Happy Birthday along with little purple hearts made him blush. "W-who...what...when...?" Hitoshi was at a loss for words as he gulped and parted his lips to look at Naomi and Eri.

"Surprise!"

Hitoshi felt his tears sting the side of his eyes again. Damn, how many times was he going to cry today? Naomi placed Eri down and she ran to the lilac haired male, hugging his knees. "We love you, Hitoshi!" Hitoshi placed most of his stuff down on the floor next to the couch and that's when he noticed your sleeping figure. Your eyes were firmly closed and your lips were slightly parted as you slowly breathed in and out. "Sis made all of this and I helped with the hearts and balloons!" Eri explained as she dragged Hitoshi to the kitchen, pointing to the food. "She made that too!"

"Why don't you wake (your name) up, Hitoshi?" Naomi smiled as she grabbed Eri again. "While we set the kitchen for the four of us." Hitoshi nodded and walked back to the couch where you were sleeping. He watched as your black hair slightly runs over your shoulders and the way you lightly flinch when you hear a bit of noise. Hitoshi knelt in front of you, watching you sleep. "How cute..." he whispered. "Hey, hey... (your name)..."

Still, you didn't budge. Hitoshi let some air out of his nose and stood up, leaning on top of you, his arms using the sofa's backrest and armrest as support. "Hey... cutie..." he smiled as he watched you shake your head. "Wake up or I'll kiss you..." His eyes slowly traveled down your hand holding on to a purple package and he felt his lips twitch into a small smile. As his last attempt, he poked your cheek three times before your eyes finally pry themselves open. Your dark irises widened as you saw the lilac haired male chuckling in front of you, suddenly moving away to grab your cheeks with his hands.

"Am I dead? Why am I seeing an angel?" you joked as you chuckled, seeing a blush tint on his face.

"No, not yet. Get up. Mom says we need to eat."

✧ ✧ ✧

THE WHOLE EVENING WAS FILLED WITH LAUGHTER, TEASING, AND ENJOYABLE MOMENTS. Most of which made Hitoshi's day a little brighter and better than it had been years before. After saying his gratitude and blowing the candles on his cake, it was finally that time of the night to clean up after the dirty dishes. You did them, of course. And when your mother announced that Hitoshi was staying over for the whole summer, you were the only one with a violent reaction—more like a case of a coughing fit. Hitoshi managed to look at you with a weird smile as you awkwardly tried to pick yourself up from the coughing fit. Naomi was putting Eri to bed leaving the two of you downstairs.

"So, you don't want me staying here?"

The question made you feel terrible and you were just quietly washing the dishes. Who bombards you with questions like that? Apparently, Hitoshi Shinso does. You looked back at the lilac haired male who was sitting at the kitchen chair and leaning on the table, his chin placed on his palm. "It's... not that..." Truth be told, you were fine having him around the house for the whole summer if you didn't feel a lot of things for him. And since you haven't told him yet, having him here and seeing him every day might be the reason you'd explode of unsaid emotions.

"Then what is it?" Hitoshi cocked his eyebrow. "Do you not like me?"

"Yes..." you lied. "I do not like you."

"That's sad..." Hitoshi chuckled while shaking his head, his eyes boring themselves on the back of your head. "And you made all the effort of doing this for me?"

"That's because mom wanted me to..."

"Not because you love me?"

You turned around from the sink and placed your hands on your hips. "No...!" Hitoshi smirked as he shrugged, making you roll your eyes and turn your whole body back to the sink. You stopped scrubbing the dishes when he said something, the same words he had been repeating when he was drunk yesterday. "I love you, (your name)~" Hitoshi's voice was soft but even though it was, the small room made his words echo and you smiled without him noticing. "I'm sorry about your apartment, Hitoshi. I should have messaged you yesterday to see if you were alright..." you bit your lower lip as you continued to scrub dishes. "Huh, were you worried about me, baby?" Finishing the remaining dishes, you chortled. "Me? Worried?" you shook your head as you slammed your wet hands on the dry table. "Always." Hitoshi did not expect that to come out of your mouth and was caught off guard. "You what?" he clarified while his lips tugged upwards, a laugh escaping his throat.

"You heard me, Hitoshi Shinso!" you smiled, crinkling your nose. "I was worried about you."

"Why are you doing this?" Hitoshi leaned back on the chair. "This is so unlike you..." Your shoulders went up and down in a swift motion, watching the male back—the two of you having an intense staring contest. "Because..." you stopped yourself from saying the phrase and you felt your lips fall downward as you gulped. Unsure of what was happening, Hitoshi tilted his head and furrowed his brows. You stood up, feeling your heart beat loudly in your chest, making your way to the sofa to find your gift still sitting there. You slowly grabbed it and sighed, your shoulder falling.

"Because?" you heard Hitoshi's voice near your ear, his arms gently wrapping themselves on your waist. "Are you alright, (your name)?" The way his body was pressed against yours made your cheeks flush and you could feel his chest pounding on your back and you wondered if he could feel your heart beating as well. You turned around, facing him and you raised the box in front of his face. "Because I care for you, Hitoshi..."

He chuckled, letting go of the hug and accepting the box in his hands. "What's this?"

"It's your stupid lavender scent..." you gulped, looking away. "I just thought it'd be nice to keep smelling lavenders on you..." Hitoshi slowly nodded, his gaze shifting from the gift to you. His violet eyes were tinted with affection and gratitude that a blush once again crept on your cheeks as you felt your palms get sweaty and cold. "Happy Birthday, Hitoshi... I really do hope you had a good one with us..."

"I did. Thank you, really," he smiled as he looked down. "You and Miss Naomi are literally such blessings. You're like the good luck charms to all the bad luck in the world. You made me really happy, (your name). Thank you..."

"Aw, shucks. It's no problem..." you licked your lips. "It's basic human decency..."

"Really?" Hitoshi once again raised his brows. "Just human decency?"

"Yeah, just that."

"Strange." He smirked. "I'm starting to think you love me now, babe." You rolled your eyes and laughed, playfully punching his arm. Because even if you wanted to tell him you do love him—one thing or person rather still stops you from doing so—and that was your father.

"Keep dreaming, Hitoshi..."
