Life Always Has Its FRISKS

A/N: WARNING!! So there are puns I am telling you this now, so if you don't like puns don't blame me. Because I warned you. Okay so this chapter was kind of awkward for me, so I hope you enjoy... The picture above doesn't belong to me, I found this in iFunny Pintrest, sooo I don't know who's it is but they probably do.

Frisk's form flickered into view, and when they were solid they saw the monster and ran away. Only to be run back into him. Frisk back away from him.

Frisk looked around and saw me. Their (f/c) eyes widened with fear and curiosity.

"S-sans?" Frisk asked, their fear was making them stutter. I nodded, but I was still floating in the air.

"What h-happened to you?" Frisk asked taking a step closer to me, but the monster twitched his body. Frisk jumped and took a couple steps back. I shifted my gaze from Frisk to the monster, but I quickly looked back at Frisk. Frisk looked at me, but quickly focused on the monster again.

"Where have you been?" I asked Frisk whispered something I couldn't hear. I decided to ask them again later.

"Frisk? Buddy? Kiddo? Look at me." I tried to distract them from the monster. Frisk looked at me, but kept glancing at the monster.

"Do you know him?" I asked Frisk, Frisk gave me an 'Are you serious look' and stopped looking at the monster.

"You don't remember him? He was once the royal scientist, Dr. W.D. Gaster." Frisk said. Frisk heard the monster shift and looked at the monster.

"Gaster?" I repeated the name.

Suddenly old memories came flooding back.

"Dad?" I called to the monster guilt came flooding over me. The monster looked at me and he started melting. I looked at him with curiosity.

"What happened to you?" I asked him. He didn't answer.

"The resets did this to him..." Frisk answered for him.

"How?" I asked. Frisk looked at the ground.

"It was my fault... Every time I reset he got worse and worse... He got this way because of the resets and when Chara took full control of my body. And kicked me out... Well you can imagine how bad it got..." Frisk said refusing to look up. Gaster fixed himself quickly and did something similar to a glare. He 'glared' at Frisk.

"That doesn't explain why he is this mad at you." I said. Frisk didn't say anything and stared at the ground. Gaster still 'glared' at Frisk, he ignored the question. I groaned frustratedly.

"Why is he mad at you! He shouldn't be this mad at you! Answer me Frisk!" I demanded. Frisk looked at the ground harder and clinched their fist tightly.

"I... I killed... I killed Papyrus. I killed you... I killed his family! Anyone would be mad at you if you killed their family!! I'm surprised that you aren't mad at me!" Frisk started to cry. Papyrus' name echoed in my head.
The memory of one of the first few resets popped in my head. Realization and rage filled me.

"You told me that you were forced to kill Pap, that Chara made you! You told me that you couldn't control yourself! You told you tried to stop yourself! BUT YOU LIED TO ME!!!" I yelled. Frisk looked at me with tears and fear in their (f/c) eyes.

"N-n-n-no! I d-didn't mean t-to!" Frisk said, they were lying.

"YOU KILLED MY BROTHER!!! BY CHOICE!!! THAT IS— HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU DONE THAT FOR SPORT OR BECAUSE YOU WERE BORED?! FRISK YOU DIRTY BROTHER KILLER!! I'LL KILL YOU!!" I screamed and my body started burning as I summoned my Gasterblaster.

The Gasterblaster was bigger that last time. It was almost as big as the whole Ruins! Frisk froze in fear. My Gasterblaster quickly charged itself and opened its mouth to attack.

"NOBODY GETS AWAY WITH SOMETHING THAT DESPICABLE WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES!! NOW FACE YOUR PUNISHMENT! YOU FILTHY MURDERER!!!" I screamed and the Blaster exploded. I heard Frisk scream. My bones felt like they were going to break. I growled at them.

The blast from the Blaster finally cleared up and I saw pieces of Frisk slowly started to merge back together. Gaster was doing the same. The anger inside me still burned like a fire.
Gaster was back together and he was looking at me with awe. Frisk was slowly putting themselves back together, but they were terrified.

"H-how did you get that s-s-strong?" Frisk asked me, I glared at them.

"SoN." Gaster said with a serious voice. I looked away.

"The Player..." I said. Frisk moved back a bit.

"I didn't kill them. They killed me... but it was an accident! They saved me..." I said. Gaster's next question was obvious, so before he asked I interrupted him.

"They cut open their SOUL somehow... this liquid was leaking out of their SOUL and they squeezed it onto my cracking SOUL." I explained, Gaster seemed satisfied with my answer, well satisfied for now.

Frisk was finally back together and they fell to their knees. I felt my hand glow, but Gaster got in the way of my view on Frisk. I looked at him.

"TheiR PuNiShmENT WIlL coMe SOoN eNoUGh." Gaster said and dragged me away from Frisk. I angrily followed him.

"It's TimE fOr YoU tO waKe UP." Gaster said with a sad look and he opened a portal. He pushed me through it, threw Frisk out of it and closed the portal. I landed on my feet and Frisk landed on top of me, but they went right through me.

The room we were was smoking, was completely black with ash, and the metal that was in the room was melted. 'Was this the Golden Corridor?' I wondered. Suddenly a ghost phased through the door, the ghost was none other than Napstablook. Napstablook seemed surprised to see me, but when he saw Frisk he glared at them.

"sans? are you okay?" Napstablook asked, there was a large thud against the wall. I heard some faint music.

"what's going on out there? is there a fight?" I asked Napstablook, I started to take a step forward when a piercing pain went through my spine. All of a sudden I felt weak and I kneeled over. Napstablook quickly floated over to me.

"sans?! what's wrong?" Napstablook asked.

"nothing, i'm just BONE tired." I said, Napstablook glared at me. I chuckled a bit and smiled.

"seriously sans?" Napstablook said in a bored tone.

"what? was that not HUMEROUS?" I joked, Napstablook turned around and started to leave.

"that's it i'm done!" Napstablook said as he reached the door.

"wait don't go! i was just trying to lift your SPIRITS!" I said and started laughing so hard that I was crying. Napstablook just floated there and glared at me so hard, I wouldn't be surprised if lasers just shot out of his eyes.

"sans... i'm leaving..." Napstablook said and left the room.

"aww come on Napstablook! i was just GHOULING around!" I said and started laughing more. Napstablook came back into the room and threw a water-like hat at me. It missed, but his reaction was still funny.

"you're not mad at me are you? you know i was just having PUN with BOO!" I said and started rolling on the floor.

"and this is why i don't hang out with you..." Napstablook said and floated back to me.

"WATER you talking about? i am always a DEWLIGHT to have around." I laughed. Napstablook have gave me a loud, heavy sigh.

"can you stop now? please?" Napstablook asked.

"well, okay just for BOO!" I said.

"you already used that one!" Napstablook yelled. I held my laughter.

"i have? Oh i guess that means i have to stop and leave you ABONE!" I said. Napstablook did a frustrated sigh.

"come on sans!" Napstablook complained.

"okay! okay!" I said with my hands up and pushed myself up. I started to fall, Napstablook rushed over to me and tried to catch me.

"oops... sorry sans! are you okay?" Napstablook asked.

"yeah, nothing PHASES me anymore." I said and chuckled.

"sans this is the last time i try to help you." Napstablook said and watched me get up.

"how am i supposed to get through the door? i guess i could teleport, but i don't know if i will end up in the right place. i could end up inside  a wall instead of the other side of the door." I said. Napstablook looked at me.

"i didn't think that far..." Napstablook said. I looked at Napstablook and laughed.

"that's great! the door probably won't budge. And i am stuck here with a MURDEROUS LYING CHILD and a ghost that hates puns." My arm glowed when I talked about Frisk. Napstablook looked hurt by my words, but quickly recovered.

"we can see what happens when you teleport..." Napstablook suggested. I shook my head.

"the last time i teleported my foot ended up in a column." I said. Napstablook sighed and tried to think of a way to get me out. Frisk was wandering around the room.

"We could continue forward... but we would get anywhere..." Frisk started mumbling ways to get me out.

"let's try to push the door open and if that doesn't work we can use magic." I suggested.

"well i can't really push inanimate objects, but i can try..." Napstablook said.

"I can try to use my Determination to push the door open." Frisk said. I pushed my anger down and nodded.
I started to push the door open, Frisk and Napstablook tried to as well. Napstablook pushed the door of a little while and Frisk fell right through. Frisk kept trying to push the door, while Napstablook cheered me on. He said something about how when he cheers his snails they can get very happy or they catch on fire.

The door barely moved at all, so we were left with trying magic. I didn't want to use my magic because I barely know how to control it anymore. I tried to activate my eye and my hand glowed. I held my hand out and tried to move the door, but nothing happened. I growled a bit and tried to activate my eye again, but my arm glowed. I tried to move the door and again nothing happened. I sighed and gave Napstablook a 'sorry' look. Napstablook shook his head.

"i don't really know how my magic works anymore." I said.

"you decided to tell me this now?" Napstablook sassed. Suddenly I was teleported back to my landing spot.

"what? wait a reset?" I asked.

"Chara has a lot more Determination now than they did when I was with them. I limited their supply, but now that I am not in there to limit it. They are a lot more Determination." Frisk explained. Napstablook came through the door again.

"sans we have to speed this up! basically every time frisk dies everyone goes back to when we entered a battle with them... wait if frisk is right there then how are we going back?" Napstablook said.

"wait you remember the resets?" I asked, I could practically taste my desperation in my voice.

"what's a reset?" Napstablook asked.

"how do you not know what a reset is? you literally descr—" I cut myself off. 'Did he just now start knowing about the resets?' I wondered. I sighed.

"a reset is what happens when a human with a lot of Determination dies, but instead of staying dead, LIKE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO. they come back to life at something called a save point. a save point is a bright shining star-like light that only the human and the monsters that are remember the resets can see." I explained. Napstablook looked at me with dumbfounded-ness. I felt my pupils disappear.

"how long have you been experiencing the resets?" I asked. Napstablook looked uneasy.

"ever since i joined up the fight against frisk... or who i thought was frisk." Napstablook answered.

"oh..." I looked down.

"how do you know about the reset thing?" Napstablook asked.

"let's just say i have a lot of experience." I said and glared at Frisk.

"sans, how long have you been able to remember these reset?" Napstablook asked worriedly.

"longer that i'd like... way longer than anyone would like..." I said. Napstablook shook his head.

"sans, how long?" Napstablook repeated.

"since the beginning..." I mumbled.

"what beginning, you mean the beginning of the day?" Napstablook asked. I laughed.

"Napstablook, buddy... the beginning was a long time ago." I sadly chuckled.

"sans? what do you mean by that?" Napstablook moved closer to me.

"what i mean by that? i mean that these resets go almost as far back as when we were first put in the Underground." I said. Napstablook backed up.

"what?!" Napstablook looked at Frisk.

"how did this start? were they involved?" Napstablook motioned towards Frisk.

"no buddy they weren't just involved... THEY STARTED THIS WHOLE DAMN THING!! and how did this start? they DIED!" I yelled.

"but how can frisk reset when they aren't in their body? is determination that powerful? how is their body even functioning without frisk?" Napstablook looked at me with concern.

"their body was taken over by Chara, you remember Chara don't you? the first human that fell into the Underground, that the royal family took in. that Chara. Chara kicked out Frisk and that's why Frisk is right here. now for about Determination i don't know how to answer that question... Determination is stronger than anything i've seen." I answered.

"but i am still confused... how did frisk possess the power in the first place? and how did chara possess frisk?" Napstablook asked.

"good questions. how about you ask Frisk." I motioned my hands to Frisk. Napstablook looked at me and shook his head.

"does papyrus know?" Napstablook asked. I shook my head.

"they would just reset and there is no use telling someone something went they are just going to forget." I said. The room was silent.

"how about the next reset you get someone out there to help with opening the door while i try to figure out my magic." I interrupted the silence. Napstablook nodded and disappeared. My pupils returned.
I tried to activate my hand and my foot glowed, I tried to activate my foot and my spine glowed... 'Weird...' I tried to activate my spine and my other hand glowed.

"this is definitely strange..." I said. I tried to activate the hand that was glowing and the ribs on the left side of my body glowed.

"huh..." I saw movement in the corner of my eye and looked in that direction. It was Frisk they were messing with one of the columns.

"what are you doing?" I asked. Frisk looked at my direction, but not at me.
"I-... I am trying to float like Napstablook." Frisk started jumping up. I tore my gaze from Frisk and tried to summon a bone from the ground. The bone busted some burnt tiles of the (once) Golden Corridor, the bone was huge. It was as big a the columns and went to the ceiling. I looked at the bone and laughed. I tried to push the bone back into the ground, but instead of going into the ground, large spikes grew onto the bone and shot out everywhere. The spikes exploded into smaller pieces and hit everything around it. I looked at the shards of bone and was about to touch one when it went into the ground. I summoned some more bones around me as a shield. And the bone shot spikes in the direction the enemy would come from.
Suddenly I was teleported to where I was pushed out of the portal.

"finally time to get out of this room." I walked to the door and Napstablook poked his head out of the door.

A/N: WARNING!! Did you like the puns? I enjoyed writing them (I didn't even have to look them up, that is why I am so proud). I hope to write some more in the future. Tell me if you enjoyed, and another chapter will be uploaded soon, and what I mean by soon is not today, sorry. See ya next time!
