Defying Terror

Cover/Blurb/Title
Cover • Not very intriguing. Does not catch my eye and easily could be scrolled past. No design whatsoever leaves the possible viewer uninterested. Font used is plain. If you need one, try the Lollipop Covers Shop or my personal shop Murderous: a cover shop.
Blurb • "Wrong place at the wrong time" and"He has no idea that he committed them" seem to contradict and confuse the reader. "Wrong place at the wrong time" when used in this sense, means that he was convicted of a crime that he didn't commit while "He has no idea that he committed them" sound like he DID commit them but he didn't know. "He has no idea that he committed them" also switches between past and current tense ( 'has' being current, 'committed' being in the past) [doesnt flow well]
Title • good
Descriptions
The descriptions were very detailed. I could picture everything well.
Characters
I enjoyed the characters. They had strong personalities, and I could hear their inner voices. It really brought the story together. Also, I like that the mc doesn't know that he committed the crimes.
Plot/General Writing
In some places it can be confusing, may sure that you connect the information to each other clear enough.
Quote from the mother is too long. Usually, someone would remember something short and sweet that touches their heart. It could be shortened.
Grammar
Very few mistakes.
Passive voice is used, make sure to pay attention.
Some sentences are over complicated.
Word choice is important. More complex words are used well but should be used with smaller words so that the reader does not face a loss of comprehension.
Reader Engagement
I sadly wasn't very engaged when reading this. It just didn't hook me well. First, the cover wouldn't have even made me click it. However, the blurb was interesting in the questions it raised. But then I felt a little annoyed by the over complex sentence structure within the story.
Overall
2.5 of stars out of 5
Good luck, lollipop!
