As soon as they walked out of the house, Rory turns to Richard and says, "Grandpa it's almost 8 o'clock what restaurant is going to let us have a reservation at their restaurant"? Rory said, she was hungry, but she didn't want to upset Emily, and also she was worried that she was going to have a fit when she realized that that they were gone.

This little accident could make it seem to Emily, her grandma that is was her idea to leave in the first place and that she didn't care about what her grandmother (Emily) was trying to do with helping her plan her wedding, which she never got to do, and probably will never get to do that for Lorelai's wedding, but her hunger trumped her feeling of regret.

Richard found them a reservation at some restaurant. Finally they were about to eat.
