Chapter 2
Festus landed win great flourish on the rooftop as if saying, "Hey, look at me, I'm a dragon! I'm georgeous and I know it." Calypso once again marveled at the sheer size of the golden dragon. How did he even stay up in the sky?
Leo held out his hand to Calypso, giving her a fake curtsy which she took and said, "Cute Leo."
He curtsied again, "Cute is my middle name."
Leo hopped onto Festus and pat the dragon's head a few times. Festus made a croaking sound and lept off of the wooden building, spreading his enormous, metal wings.
And then they were flying.

Calypso sat up and rubbed her eyes. She looked around her to see Leo fast asleep, head resting on the neck of Festus. They must have fallen asleep.
Looking above her she saw the sun high in the sky- Calypso didn't know what this meant, time was difficult in Ogygia. Gently she nudged Leo awake. "Leo, wake up, we fell asleep."
Leo stirred and nearly rolled over, not fully awake yet; well, not awake at all, "Cinco minutos mas." [Five more minutes]
Calypso was familiar with Spanish, one of her relatives forced her to learn it. She refused to give him any other name of importance. That stage in her life was over. There was no going back, she had left Ogygia. She had left her old life.
"Vamos Leo! Despiertate ya!" Calypso nudged him with more force this time.
Leo groaned and sat up, dark hair messier than usual which he tried in vain to smooth down. It took about five minutes for him to fully register everything around him. He looked behind him at Calypso squinting in the brightness, "Hey mamacita. Wait, you speak Spanish? Me puedes entender? [Can you understand me?]"
"Si, si puedo [yes, yes I can], don't call me mamacita."
Leo grinned, "Ok. So," he scratched the back of his neck, "why exactly did you wake me up?"
"It's bright. We need to find out what time it is, do you have a sundial?"
Leo stared at her for a count of five. Calypso sat there awkwardly, not knowing what was wrong. Leo nodded his head slowly as if assuring himself that he was ok and reached for his toolbelt.
"Ok hot stuff, this is a watch." He pulled his hand out of his toolbelt, holding a wide turquoise strap with a white and silver pendent fastened tightly on top. Upon closer inspection, there was a thin strip of metal inside of the watch that was moving slowly, rotating around the middle of the circlular pendent. "It's a bit different than a sundial."
Calypso stared at the watch in fascination. Leo chuckled for a second and then stopped, "Wait, does this mean you don't know what an IPhone is, or a dishwasher or," he gazed at Calypso with a horrified expression, "Netflix?"
Calypso began to braid her caramel brown hair that was whipping around her face in the wind, she could see this conversation would take a while, "Well, I know what an IPhone is, duh. A dishwasher is kind of self explanatory and I remember Percy showing me a couple pictures of the modern world when he... visited. But I don't know what Netflix is. Is it like the flix of an animal that's stuck in a net? What does that help."
Leo rested his head on Festus' neck and pretended to sob. Calypso hit him, "The flix of an animal that's stuck in a net," Leo repeated while fake sobbing, "Whyyyyyyyyyyyy????!!!!"
Calypso rolled her green eyes and Festus snorted. Calypso asked, "Seriously Leo, what is this Flix of the Net?"
Leo sighed and turned around to answer Calypso when something slammed against Festus, sending them spiraling to the ground.
"CALYPSO!!!" Leo screamed, holding out his hand to try to grab her.
The wind didn't cooperate, they were falling too fast and besides, Calypso was unconscious.
