Chapter 2: SSL
POV Helena
It's been two weeks since I've heard from Jackson. In the mean time I have been shoving the topic Octavius to the back of my mind and instead I've been thinking of my real parents. I want to free them, help them, but I need help and since the only person that can help me with that hasn't shown up in two damn weeks. I almost think that he lied about everything and that maybe soon I will see Norman again with his pack of rogues but instead after two long weeks I see his grinning face walking towards me as I am sitting outside against the house.
I push myself up in one swift movement and stalk over to him, surprising him by grabbing him by the collar and threateningly showing my teeth at him. "Where the hell have you been?"
He smiles at me making me even more pissed than I'm already am. "Well Foxie, I've been visiting some witches up in the north, it took quite long, and I know as much as I did before about the topic Octavius. Nothing." He says before trying to pry my hand of his shirt. "You got quite a strong grip there." He says while pulling at my fingers but I don't budge.
"I need you to find something else for me." I say and he stops prying at my hand. He frowns but nods at me. I let go of him and place my hands on my hips. "You need to find my parents."
He looks uneasy and looks everywhere but in my eyes. "Well, that won't be so easy."
"Why not?" I say and I feel my rage taking over again. I am really getting sick and tired of the part of me that gets on edge every time I'm near someone.
"Because the last time I checked the SSL Headquarters are not where they used to be."
"What do you mean?" I ask with a snarl in my voice and he slowly looks at me. I am starting to think he is holding something from me and I am determined to find out what.
"They moved somewhere to a secret place. The building you grown up in is abandoned. There is nothing left of the Secret Society of Luna. I wouldn't know where they are or where there went. It's like they vanished from the face of the earth."
I start to pace and feel my stress level quickly rising.
Where would Lucien take his Society to and how could they leave unnoticed? There must be a way to find out where he is. I need a witch, but since I am the Niña Flecha no witch is actually excited to help me out since I can be the're downfall.
"I need to find a witch. Someone who is useful this time, not some scaredy-cat who doesn't even want to try to help me."
"You have searched for six months for a witch that can help you solve your problems, where do you think you will find someone who miraculously can help you with everything. I think you want to do to much in a short time. You want to find a way to stop your curse of the Child Of The Arrow, you want to find your parents and as the way you look now, you probably want revenge so you want to go after Lucien."
My head shoots up and my pacing stops. I feel my eyes turn red again and I ball my fists. "Why do you think I want to find a way to get rid of all my problems right now? My life is a mess, Jackson! I've been living in solitude for six fucking months and it's making me crazy! It makes my crazy that I can't see my mate. It makes me crazy I can't see my friend and it makes me crazy that I am bound to this stupid curse and there's nothing I can do about it! I don't even know why I keep having faith that I'll find a way to stop this. Maybe it's because I made a promise to myself, my mate and my friend or maybe it's because I don't want to admit that i am forever gonna be this monster." I suck in a deep breath as I start losing control of my feelings.
Jackson steps closer to me, softly putting his hand on my shoulder. "You are not a monster, Helena. You may have took bad discussions in the past due to Lucien. He filled your head with lies and used you as his personal weapon but you aren't bad. You are gonna fight through this. I'm gonna help you, whatever the cost will be, I will stand by your side and I promise you I will help you to make Lucien pay for all his deeds and I will help you to put a stop to this curse. This isn't gonna be your fate because for as far as I know, we make our own fates."
His brown eyes seem to light up, all playfulness gone. I frown at him and wonder why he wants to help me so much. Although I asked him I can't help but think there is more behind his intentions.
"Why?"
He frowns. "Why what?"
"Why do you want to help me so badly? Apart from wanting to be rebellious towards your father."
He smirks at me. "Should there be a reason?"
"There is always a reason." I say without smiling. He comes closer to the point he is only a breath away. He leans so close that our noses are almost touching. His hazel eyes look devilish at me as his dark hair frames his face.
"For me to know and you to find out." He says before leaning back and giving me space to breathe again.
I let out a breath through my nose and roll my eyes at him. "Let's go." I say and walk away from the cabin.
"Where are we going?" He frowns but quickly follows along.
"We are going to pay a visit to the nearest witch. Again. I don't believe that they don't have any information about this Octavius guy. If he's so powerful they must know of him."
He quickens his pace and comes to stand beside me. "Okay, what's the name of this witch?"
"Delta. She lives in a town not very far from here, it's called Diamond Lake."
"Wait, but that's 20 miles from here! That'll be a seven hour walk."
With a smirk I say, "Well let's hope for her that she will have useful information."
