Thursday-

Sarah was still staying with Jessica and Danny. Sarah was slowly trying to figure out what was next, but she was also trying to heal. Sarah still couldn't wrap her head around all that had happened. Evan had tried to call numerous times but she blocked his calls.

Jessica and Danny both had to go to work on Thursday, leaving Sarah and Aspen alone. Jessica hated to leave Sarah knowing the state she was in, but she had responsibilities of her own that she needed to focus on. Jessica had been so busy helping Sarah with Aspen and making sure she was okay that she had lost track of time. She had a deadline for her book and she wasn't even close to being finished. Everything was off.

"Sarah, if you need anything just call." Danny says gathering all of his work things.

"I'll be okay" she says bouncing Aspen

"I'll probably be home by lunch. I just need to stop by the office." Jessica smiles

Jessica and Danny leave the apartment together. On their way down to the lobby Danny could tell Jessica looked a bit off.

"Jess, are you okay?" He says

Jessica sighs "I just feel so bad for Sarah! I've been helping her so much that I forgot all about my draft that David needs by tomorrow afternoon! And I have to go into the office tomorrow as well. I'm going to be up all night!" She says holding her head.

"Hey, it's all going to be okay. You can do it and I know it! I'll come home early."

"This is all a crazy mess. Sarah is lost without Evan. She's so overwhelmed especially when she's with the baby. I just want to try to take off some of that stress."

"You need to focus on your life too, honey."

"I know..." she pouts

"Just go to work and have a good day. Relax baby." He says stroking her arm.

Jessica gets on her tippy toes and kisses Danny's cheek. "I love you."

"I love you too!"

During the work day Jessica was in her own world. She tried to do magazine work and book work all at the same time. She had loads of meetings that she ended up not being able to work on her draft.

When Jessica got home the first thing she wanted to do was start on her draft.

But things didn't go as planned.... when Jessica got home Sarah was a mess. She was scurrying through the apartment dressed formally.

Jessica sighed

"Sarah?" She says closing the apartment door.

"Oh! Jessica! I'm so sorry! But I have a huge favor to ask!" She says quickly

"Okay?"

"I have a meeting with someone interested in buying my shop! I can't take her with me. Could you please just watch her for an hour or two?" Sarah says

"Sarah, I have to work on my draft!" Jessica really wanted to say yes, but she had remember that she had responsibilities of her own.

Sarah rubbed her temples then sat on the couch with discouragement.

She shook her head. "You're right. God I'm so sorry, Jessica. I must be such a burden." She begins to tear up

Jessica saw how stressed Sarah was, so she gave in.

"You know what, you go for an hour and I'll watch her."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Oh, god, thank you!"

....

"Her bottles are in the fridge and she should go down for a nap while I'm gone!" Sarah says grabbing all of her things to leave.

Jessica sways back and forth holding Aspen. "Okay, I think me and little missy will be just fine! Good luck." Jessica says

"Ahh, Thank you. I'll need it. Bye baby girl!"

Sarah then leaves and it was just Jessica and Aspen.

"So baby girl. What should we do? How does a bottle and nap sound? Aunt Jessie has lots of work to do so if you took a nappy you'd save my sanity!" Jessica giggles

Aspen stares into Jessica's eyes with a stern look. As Jessica goes to feed her she immediately starts to scream and cry.

"Oh come on!" Jessica whines

She screams even louder and starts to squirm around in Jessica's arms.

For about thirty minutes Aspen wouldn't stop screaming. Jessica was convinced something was wrong. Aspen was just being stubborn.

Jessica yearned for Sarah to come home. Jessica loved babies, but when she was alone with them it never went that well. She just waited and waited. For Danny, Sarah, anyone.

She tried everything but nothing made Aspen happy.

Then someone began knocking on the door.

"Look! Someone is here to save us!" Jessica says laying her in the play pin.

Jessica ran to the door and wiped the sweat off her forehead.

"Evan, what the hell are you doing here!" Jessica says clenching her teeth.

"Is sarah here?" He says looking around

Jessica shakes her head. "But Aspen is... If you can't already tell." She says referring to the screaming.

"Can I come in? Please..." He begs

"Evan, I don't think I can let you in."

"Please, at least let me help with her."

Jessica sighs then let's him in. She didn't know why Evan was at her home, but she wasn't happy about it.

Evan walks over to Aspen and picks her up.Immediately she stops crying and leans on Evan. He sits down on the couch and rocks her.

Jessica goes into the living room and sits across from him.

"I missed you so much, baby girl." He whispers to the baby.

"Evan, you messed up. You hurt her, you ruined your family." Jessica says

"I know... because of it I may never be able to see her again." He whispers

"What?"

"Sarah- she's going to get custody of Aspen and move back home. I came to see her. I just wanted to give my baby girl one last hug." He says tearing up

Sarah had said nothing about custody. She didn't think Sarah would take it as far as taking aspen away from Evan.

"Why did you do it? You started the affair when she was pregnant. Pregnant!" Jessica says

"I just don't have an excuse or reason. I hate myself for what I did. Sarah will never forgive me. I ruined everything. Sarah's going to take her and never let me see her."

"Evan, that's not true. Aspen is your daughter. Sarah can't take her away for ever."

"But she can..." He sighs

"I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything. I appreciate you letting me see her. I just miss her."

"... I'm sorry baby girl. I messed up. But one day I'll make it up to you, I promise." He mumbles. Aspen slowly began to fall asleep in his arms.

"Evan, you can't stay long. She'll be here soon. I know she wouldn't be happy if she knew you were here."

"She's almost asleep.... can I just have a minute?"

Jessica nods

Within the next ten minutes Aspen was out. Evan put her down and tears rolled down his face.

"Jessica, thank you." He says opening the door.

"I wish I could give you more time, but Sarah is my friend and going behind her back like this...."

"I understand." He steps out of the apartment and turns back to Jessica.

"If I could go back I would... I would have never done it."

"I know, but you did, Evan."

"I did. And it was the worst mistake of my life."
