Chapter 8

There will be continuity errors and plot holes because I was rewriting the series before I had to abandon my account.

Diagon Ally

Draco and I were in Madam Malkin's getting new robes fitted. I was skinner than before Azkaban, but I was heavier since I got out. I needed new robes. Narcissa was with us and I was laughing hysterically at Draco complaining. We, of course, needed to go see the vanishing cabinet, but we also just wanted to spend time alone.

"Will you leave us alone? I'm not a child, in case you haven't noticed, mother, and neither is Leah. We're perfectly capable of doing our shopping alone!" he said, and I just laughed.

"Yeah," I managed to get out. My hair was a pale blonde today, and obviously I was not suffering from depression at the moment.

"Now dear, you're mothers quite right, none of us are supposed to go wandering around on our own anymore, it's nothing to do with you and your sister being children," she said, and I was almost on the floor at that comment.

"My sister? God no!" he said in disgust.

"I really don't think we're in danger," I said, still laughing. Draco just watched me, and I could tell he was much more frustrated and stressed out than I was.

"Lighten up, sweetie," I said, and then Draco's eyes narrowed over my shoulder.

"If you're wondering what that smell was, mother, a Mudblood just walked in," he said and I looked over to see the trio. I smiled at them, and they looked at me in astonishment, but then glared over at Draco. Malkin was giving Draco hell for the mudblood comment. Potter and Weasley had their wands out, so I drew mine as well.

"No, don't, honestly...it's not worth it," Granger said.

"Yeah, like you'd dare do magic out of school. Who blackened your eye, Granger? I want to send them flowers," Draco smirked and I smacked his arm.

 "Draco!" I scolded.

"Yeah, Draco, listen to your bitch," Potter sneered and I gaped at him.

"What?" I yelled and Malkin was in a tizzy.

"That's quite enough! Madam-please," she said, and Narcissa walked back from the clothes rack.

"Put those away. If you attack my son, or Leah, again I shall insure that it is the last thing you ever do," she said coldly. Go Narcissa! You know, I was positive the trio still liked me...but I guess not.

"Really? Going to get a few Death Eater pals to do us in, are you?" he asked and I stepped forward.

"Yeah, I will," I said. Narcissa put a hand to my shoulder and smiled in an unpleasant way.

"I see that being Dumbledore's favorite has given you a false sense of security, Harry Potter. But Dumbledore won't always be there to protect you," she said and I felt a sick feeling in my stomach, but I didn't let it show.

"Wow...look at that...he's not here now! So why not have a go? They might be able to find you a double cell in Azkaban with your loser of a husband, and you can rejoin them Leah!" he said and Granger gasped.

"Harry," she said. She's still on my side.

"Unlike you, I can do magic out of school!" I snapped, stepping closer, and Draco made an angry movement forward. I put a hand on his arm to show him I could handle this.

"It's alright, Leah. I'm sure Potter will be reunited with Sirius before I am reunited with Lucius," she said and Potter's rage grew. Granger attempted to calm Potter, and I glanced back at Malkin, who was going on as if nothing happened.

"I think this left sleeve should come up a little bit more, dear, let me just..." she said, but I grabbed Draco's arm.

"You know, I don't think you should get these, Draco. Considering the fact that these three shop here," I glared.

"Your right; I don't want these anymore, mother," he said, taking them off and throwing them to the ground. He stepped down and took my hand, still glaring at the others.

"You know, I thought you three would understand the most, but I guess you don't have the mental capacity to," I said coldly, and we walked out.

"I'm sorry," Granger whispered ever so quietly. I just glared at her and went outside. We began walking down Diagon Alley and my smile grew to a new extreme. When Draco followed my gaze he looked at me in shock.

 "No," he said.

"Please!" I begged and he shook his head.

"I won't be caught dead in there," he said.

"Fine, I'll meet back up with you," I shrugged. He looked reluctant and then captured my hand again.

"I'll go," he decided and I gave a squeal of delight. We made our way into Fred and George's joke shop, and I laughed.

"This place is great!" I said. Draco raised his eyebrows at me and then laughed.

"You're on that potion again, aren't you?" he asked and I nodded.

"So long as you're happy," he chuckled. I saw day dream potions and laughed.

"Oh God, please let me get one," I said and he laughed.

"You don't need one of those to get lost in your own little world," he rolled his eyes.

"Kill joy," I winked, looking over candy and all sorts of gags.

"I'm getting one!" I yelled relatively loudly and Draco laughed at me.

"A pygmy puff? Oh my god," he smiled. I picked up a little blue one and laughed.

"Look at it!" I laughed again.

"Yes, rather cute, aren't they?" asked two familiar voices and I looked up to see the twins.

"Hey!" I smiled, and they each hugged me.

"Didn't expect to see you two here," Fred said, looking between Draco and me.

"I made him come," I shrugged.

"You were in Azkaban though," George said.

"I got out," I nodded. They smiled at me and gestured dramatically.

"Well then that," Fred pointed to the puff, "is on the house."

"Oh no, I couldn't," I shook my head.

"We won't let you pay," George shrugged. Draco rolled his eyes.

"Stop being stubborn," he poked my side and I laughed.

 "Stop," I smirked.

 "You're awfully giggly," George smiled.

"I'm on a potion. I won't elaborate any more than that," I said and they both raised their eyebrows.

"I hope it isn't a birth control one," Fred said, and Draco and I burst out laughing.

 "No," I shook my head.

"Leah," called a cheery voice, and Ginny hugged me tightly.

"Gin!" I smiled, hugging her back.

"Those other three may be mad, but I don't give a damn," she said with a smile.

"Look, it's our lovely sister," the twins smirked.

"Draco," Ginny said ignoring them, "I'm willing to come to terms with you for Leah's sake," she said. He raised his eyebrows and when he didn't answer, she continued.

"I want to be her friend, and you're her boyfriend. Let's just be civil," she said, holding her hand out. Draco sighed and hesitantly took it.

"Fine, I'll be civil to you. Not the others though," he said with a glare and she nodded.

 "I understand," she said.

"Alright, well good," he said and I dragged the two over to the love potions. I caught sight of the trio, but didn't acknowledge their presence.

"I'm getting one," I decided and Draco gave me a look while Ginny laughed.

 "Why?" he asked.

"To cause some mayhem in Slytherin," I said wickedly.

"You don't need a potion though, just seduce them," he snorted.

"Oh no, I'd love to see the potion in action," Ginny said.

"They work up to twenty four hours depending on the weight of the boy in question and the attractiveness of the girl," George said.

"But we're not selling them to our sister, not when she's got about five boys on the go from what we've heard," Fred said and I smiled.

"Way to be!" I high fived her.

"Whatever you've heard from Ron is a big fat lie," she said.

"That's okay, I have a whole cult of boys," I smirked and Draco scoffed.

 "Oh do you?" he asked.

"Sure. There's you, Thane, Blaise, there was Alex, and I'm sure Ronald is in love with me (who wouldn't be?), and Harry is just hiding his feelings..." at this point Ginny was laughing hysterically, "Damon wants some of this I'm sure, Montague cannot resist," I listed and Draco finally laughed.

"I'll believe that the day I see it," he said.

"Mm, and there's him," I said, nodding to a boy on the other side of the room. He blushed and quickly looked away, to which we all laughed.

"Well are you not dating Dean Thomas?" George asked Ginny.

"Yes, I am, and last time I looked, he was definitely one boy, not five," she said.

"We should go," I said as Weasley showed up and Narcissa was distracted outside. Draco nodded and I waved, taking my pygmy puff. We slipped past Narcissa and walked quickly down the street. We took a left into Knockturn alley and then into Borgin and Burkes.

 "Hello," I said silkily.

"Miss Riddle!" Borgin said in surprise.

"Yes, she is indeed. Now, you see that vanishing cabinet? It has a twin and we need the both of them. The only problem is that the other is broken, you know how to fix it?"

"Possibly, I'll need to see it though. Why don't you bring it into the shop?"

"We can't, it's got to stay put. I just need you to tell us how to do it," I said with a sweet smile.

"Well...without seeing it I must say it will be a very difficult job, perhaps impossible. I couldn't guarantee anything," he said, and I shared a look with Draco. We moved closer and showed him our dark marks.

"No? Perhaps this'll make you more confident," I said, and then we pulled our sleeves down, stepping back.

"Tell anyone, and there will be retribution. You know Fenrir Greyback? He's a family friend. He'll be dropping in from time to time to make sure you're giving the problem you're full attention," I threatened.

"There will be no need for-"

"We'll decide that. We better be off now, and don't forget to keep that one safe. We'll need it," Draco said.

"Perhaps you'd like to take it now?" he asked.

"Of course we wouldn't!" I snapped.

"How would we look carrying that thing down the street? Just don't sell it," Draco glared.

"Of course not...sir; my lady," he said, bowing deeply.

"Not a word to anyone, and that includes my mother, understand?" Draco asked.

"Naturally, naturally," he bowed again, and we walked out. I thought I saw something on the roof above us, but I shook my head. That's ridiculous.

"Well, this is it," I muttered.

"Are you ready?" I asked and he looked down at me.

"Sure," he said. I was unconvinced.
