Body Swap Part 1
"Laxus," Natsu shouted, running toward the S-Class wizard with a fist covered in flames. "fight me!"
Laxus sighed and rolled his eyes. "Not now, Natsu." He growled, dodging the Fire Dragon Slayer. The blond began walking toward the large double doors.
"Hey, where are you going?" The pink haired boy snapped. "Get back here and fight me!"
"What part of 'not now' do you not understand?" Laxus glared at Natsu over his shoulder. "I'm busy."
"Busy with what?"
"We've got a job." Freed answered from Fairy Tail's entrance. "Come, Laxus. We'll be late if you don't hurry."
Standing at the guild's entrance along with Freed was Bickslow, Evergreen, and you, (F/N) (L/N).
"Yeah, I know." Laxus grumbled. He turned his back to the Salamander and walked to his team.
"We're totally fighting when you get back!" Natsu shouted.
"No, we aren't." Laxus replied, getting more annoyed by the second.
Once you left the guild, the five of you walked down the streets of Magnolia.
"So Laxus," Evergreen spoke up, "are you going to use the reward money to take (F/N) out on a date?"
"Huh?" Laxus raised an eyebrow. "Where'd that come from?"
"I'm sure (F/N) would enjoy a nice date." Freed commented.
"Yeah, especially since you two never go out on dates that much." Bickslow added.
You stayed quiet and listened so that you could hear what Laxus had to say. You two have been dating for a full year now and, like Bickslow said, Laxus hasn't taken you on many dates.
He shyly confessed his feelings for you after his expulsion from Fairy Tail was lifted by Gildarts. You didn't believe him at first though, and thought it was some sort of sick joke.
💫 Flashback 💫
"You what?" You asked with your mouth agape.
"I said . ." Laxus paused to suck his teeth as his cheeks grew redder. "I said I like you!" He sighed and mumbled under his breath, "Don't make me say it again."
"You-You're joking . . ."
"Huh?"
"You're not serious . . ."
"Of course, I'm serious! What the heck are you talking about?"
"Just . . . just leave me alone." You turned around and started to walk away as quickly as you could.
But a large hand latched onto your arm and spun you around.
And lips were pressed against yours.
Before you knew it, you were lost in the moment. And then Laxus pulled away.
"I'm not joking!" He shouted. "I've had a crush on you for as long as I can remember. Why the heck would I joke about that?"
"Don't know." You mumbled, "Why did you wait so long to tell me?"
Laxus began looking like he had been busted for a crime. " E-Evergreen made me tell you." He mumbled shyly. "I didn't really want to."
💫 End of Flashback 💫
Long story short, you accepted Laxus' feelings and two of you have been dating ever since.
"Why do we need to go on a date?" Laxus growled.
"Laxus!" Evergreen gasped.
"What?" He shrugged, "Going on dates would be such a hassle."
You sighed softly, knowing this would be his response. Honestly, it would be nice to go out on a date since he's never really taken you on one before. But you know Laxus has the "tough guy" image.
"What? You can't be serious!" Evergreen sassed, "(F/N), aren't you going to say something?"
"I'm fine, Ever." You said, forcing a smile.
"See." Laxus gestured to you. "She's fine."
Evergreen huffed and folded her arms over her chest.
When the team arrived at the destination, you all immediately met with the client, which was the town's mayor. He wanted you guys to solve the mystery of recent disappearances of mages from his town. Apparently, the mages go missing two at a time.
"So, what do you think the cause is?" Freed asked the group after leaving the mayor's house. "A gang of bandits looking for ransom money?"
"Maybe it's something bigger." Bickslow suggested.
"What makes you think that?" You asked.
"All of these people go missing and they just all happen to be wizards? Don't sound like any ordinary bandits to me."
"Well, you've got a point there." Evergreen said.
"Excuse me." A female voice called from behind.
All of you turned around to see a young woman standing there.
"I didn't get a chance to talk to you back there." She said, "I'm Destiny, the mayor's daughter." She stepped closer and stuck out her hand toward Laxus. "And you must be Laxus from Fairy Tail. I watched you in the Grand Magic Games; you were so amazing!"
"Uh, thanks." Laxus replied awkwardly. "And I make it a rule not to shake hands. Sorry. My hands are used for fighting only."
Destiny retracted her hand and nodded as if she completely understood. "A man with dignity." She smiled. "I like that."
Your eyes widened as you realized what she was trying to do. Is she flirting with him? You thought. But you kept your mouth shut and watched Laxus closely.
"Cool." The blond said, uninterested. "Well, we've got a job to do, so-"
"I can help!" Destiny blurted out.
"What?" Laxus growled. "No way."
"If it's my safety you're worried about, then you don't need to waste your energy." The mayor's daughter assured you all. "I know three different types of martial arts. I can take care of myself."
"And how exactly does that protect you from magic?" Evergreen challanged.
"That's why we hired wizards from Fiore's strongest guild." Destiny turned her focus back to Laxus. "And the strongest mage." You silently gasped when Destiny winked at Laxus.
The rest of The Thunder Legion was catching on as well.
Is she mad? Freed asked.
Woah, this chick's got a serious death wish. Bickslow thought.
If only this girl knew what she was getting herself in to. Evergreen sighed.
But the real question was: Was Laxus catching on as well, or is he oblivious to the flirting?
You continued to watch your boyfriend silently.
"I'm not the strongest mage," Laxus stated, sounding annoyed. "but I'm a close second."
You weren't sure if he was annoyed at the fact that he wasn't the strongest mage in Fairy Tail, or if it was because he was still talking to Destiny.
You hoped it was the second one.
"Doesn't matter." The woman said. "You'll always be the strongest to me."
"Geez." Laxus growled under his breath. "Well, we really gotta go." He said as he swiftly turned his back toward her.
The rest of you followed, including Destiny. She walked rather fast to match Laxus' speed and she tried to make conversation with him.
After walking for about ten minutes, Destiny tripped and clung to Laxus' arm for support. You gritted your teeth while trying to maintain your self control. You probably wouldn't be this entry if she had actually tripped.
But there was nothing there.
Wonder what she tripped on. Air? You growled in your head.
"Ow." Destiny whined while still holding onto your boyfriend's arm.
"What?" Laxus asked.
"Sorry, but I think I twisted my ankle." She said, "It hurts."
I'll twist more than just your ankle. You hissed in your mind.
"What a pain." Laxus grumbled quietly, almost not auditibly. He silently picked Destiny up and carried her bridal style, continuing to walk as if nothing happened.
Your jaw dropped at the sight, as did the Thunder Legion's. Destiny hummed as she snuggled closer to the blond's chest. This set you off.
You took off, running, in the opposite direction. You didn't really look at where you were going nor did you care.
"Laxus." Freed called.
The blond turned around to see that his team had stopped walking and you were no where to be found. "Where's (F/N)?" He asked.
"She bolted in that direction." Bickslow said, pointing in the direction you ran off.
"What? Why did she just take off like that? What's the matter with her?" Laxus growled.
"Why don't you go ask her?" Evergreen raised an eyebrow.
"Fine." He huffed. "Wait here." He told Destiny, setting her on her feet gently.
After doing that, he chased after you.
You finally stopped running and collapsed to your knees on a grassy field.
You took in massive breaths of air, which you tried to even out. After a couple of minutes, you heard footsteps behind you.
You knew it was Laxus.
"Somethin' wrong?" He asked.
"Is something wrong, he says." You sassed before scoffing.
"Hey, what's with the attitude?"
"You!" You shouted, standing up and facing him. "You're the problem, Laxus!"
"Me? What in the world did I do?" His voice raised a little louder.
"You, for some reason, think it's okay to have women fawning all over you! You act like it's no big deal, like it's an everyday thing!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Destiny! She's flirting with you! How can you not tell!? And you know, Laxus, you did this before and I forgave you-"
"Wait a minute. Before?"
"At the Grand Ball. After the Grand Magic Games."
Laxus showed signs of realization. "Oh, (F/N)," He scratched the back of his head. "it's not like that. I swear. I just didn't want to be rude. I mean, the chick's our client's daughter. If we upset her, we might not get paid."
"That doesn't mean you can carry her and let her cuddle with you!"
"What? We weren't cuddling. I don't cuddle."
You sighed at his comment. It was true. The whole twelve months that you've been dating Laxus, not once have you two cuddled or snuggled up next to each other.
The closest you get to snuggling is with his arm around your shoulder, while he drinks at the guild.
"You're right, you don't cuddle." You snapped. "You also don't snuggle, or go on dates, or have a single moment where we're alone together!"
"What do you mean? We're alone sometimes."
"Yeah, on jobs. I'm not talking about work; I'm talking about just you and me, and nothing else."
Laxus sighed loudly and rolled his eyes.
"Laxus, if being in a relationship is so annoying and 'a hassle', then why am I wasting my time?"
"You're wasting time right now!"
"I can't believe you!" You screeched.
"Me?" Laxus shouted back. "You-"
A light pink essence began to glow from your body and Laxus' body. Both of your attentions were drawn to this glow.
"Huh?" Laxus muttered.
"What . . is this?" You spoke softly.
The next thing you knew, everything around you started to blur. What the-You thought.
You looked up at Laxus one final time before everything went pitch black.
