Chapter 7 - Happy New Year, My Love
New Years Eve
I was putting on makeup for the "Cast Member Appreciation" party for New Year's. I've never been to a big party before. I've never been interested. I was especially not interested in school dances, I didn't have that many friends, or boyfriends. I was wearing a bright red lipstick, with a little silver glitter eyeshadow. I've always seen celebrities wear those sort of things on New Year's Rockin' Eve. I hope it wasn't too much.
This party is supposed to have music, snack table, and everything else a big party would have.
I walked into the studios. I ran my fingers through my straightened hair. I was looking down; not even paying attention to where I was going. I bumped into someone, I shot my head up. I saw Rachel Dratch's papers flying everywhere. My eyes widened, "I am so sorry!" I said, picking up her papers. "No worries." She kneeled down and helped me pick them up. "Thanks!" Rachel said with a big smile. "No problem. I'm so sorry!" I said. Rachel pulled a lock of her dark brown hair behind her ear. "Stop being sorry." I still felt bad. "Sor-" I noticed I was saying sorry again. Rachel laughed, and walked away.
The cast still didn't know about me and Jimmy. Not that I wanted to keep our relationship a secret, I just wasn't interested in telling anyone.
The party was still setting up. Lorne heard me, and turned around. "Your early." He said with a laugh. "Am I too early?" I asked, a little too worried. I felt really worried today for some reason. Lorne crinkled his eyebrows, "Your okay!"
After everyone arrived, the party started. I noticed Jimmy walking through the door. I smiled, and walked over to him. "Hey handsome." I said, looking at his hair. Which never failed to be messy, and adorable. Jimmy bit his lip, "Hey." We walked up to the stage. This party sounded and looked like a lot of fun.
11:56 p.m.
It was exactly 4 minutes until the start of 1999. Jimmy and I wanted to go to the makeup room, where the TV was, to watch the ball drop.

Most of the cast was in the makeup room, and was cheering. I turned to Jimmy, and kissed him. I felt eyes staring at me. When I let go of his lips, I saw red lipstick around his mouth. "I have red lipstick everywhere, right?" Jimmy asked, both of us cracking up. "I wouldn't mind if you put a little more lipstick on my lips." Jimmy said with a smirk. I bit my lip. "You spoiled, spoiled man." I said with a giggle, and kissed him. "Okay, now you look like a clown." I said with a laugh. "Go wash your face off." I said, patting his cheeks.
I walked over to the snack table, and got a cup of beer. I sighed before I drank it. I've always had a phobia of getting addicted to alcohol, but I should at least try it. Right? When I took a sip, I grimaced. That did not taste good. At all. I threw away my cup.
"Not a big drinker, huh?" A voice said. I shrieked, and turned around. I saw Cheri Oteri standing behind me. "Woah." Cheri said, her eyes widened. "You're jumpy." I've been really jumpy since I was little. I chuckled, "Sorry." Cheri smiled. "You and Jimmy are too cute." Cheri said. This time, I wasn't nervous that a lot of people saw us. "You saw us?" I asked her. Cheri chuckled, "Yeah! A lot of people are talking about you two. I mean, not in a bad way. Everybody thinks you guys are really cute together." I smiled. When she said, "A lot of people are talking about you two." I sort've panicked. I thought maybe people were spreading rumors or something. "That's good news."
I really didn't care what anybody thought about me and Jimmy. I was in love with him, and nobody was going to change that.
