Three weeks later...

It's been weeks since anyone last saw their heroine Avatar Korra and the only people that saw her go to the Avatar Aang memorial island is Tenzin her Air bending teacher and the son of the late Avatar Aang, and the leader of the Task Force and one the members of the council is Tarrlok.

On the same night when Korra was not heard from the island, Tarrlok did send the task force teams down at the island when the past hours have gone past late and when the teams got there, they couldn't find any trace of the Avatar which gives a concerning to the entire republic city.

About two weeks ago when the investigation had started on the same night, the task force and the Metal bending police lead by Lin Beifong daughter of Toph Beifong who is one of the oldest friends of the Avatar Aang, had been investigating to the mysterious disappearance of Avatar Korra.

Originally many people thought it was Amon and his followers that kidnapped Korra, but strangely it is not true. As the investigation was stressful one of the Metal bending police officers had found something.

As the groups gathered at his position at the back of the temple, they were shocked to discover that bodies of the Equalists across the area all badly wounded and as they did a search on them as they arrested them, the wounds some people found were made by signs of combat from cuts of a sharp sword but some others discovered that some of the Equalists were killed in the attack.

They aren't sure if they put up a fight or if they had Korra but one things for certain, there was someone else on the island that took Korra and it wasn't Amon but perhaps someone very dangerous.

In light of this discovery, the chief of police known as Lin Beifong had made this her mission to take the surviving Equalists into custody to find out what happened and who took Avatar Korra. Tarrlok was against this as his men could do a better job but because that Lin inherited most of traits of her mother her stoic fierce look made Tarrlok to drop his argument as she and her men had taken the captured wounded Equalists with them as this made Tenzin joined her in hopes that he could be some help which Lin had allowed him to come with her as for everyone else, Tarrlok and the remaining groups chose to stay on the island to find more clues on the island that could shed more light on this investigation.

As for Korra's friends, things aren't too good for them on the subject as they too tried to find her if Amon did have her, but all hours that past they found no trace of her as Tenzin's children were too exhausted to find a trace of her they eventually gave up and cried for their friend that couldn't be found.

Her other friends, Assmi Sato, and the street bothers Bolin and Mako have continued the search for the past two weeks and eventually Bolin and Assmi decided that Korra may not be in the city as they have raided the secret hideouts of the Equalists movement, but the one person to this day that hasn't give up the search is Mako.

While Bolin was beating himself up for not been able to be there for Korra, Mako's guilt is the worse than his brother's guilt.

Each time that Mako and the rest of Korra's friends have been grueling down at each possible hangouts of the Equalists that could have Korra hidden, Mako has been practically spearhead the search for her and added to the none stop rest and food the others especially his brother Bolin have been concerned for Mako as some of them that was with him raiding each of the hangouts, saw that Mako is threatening some of the young recruits of the Equalists to death.

It's no secret from that point that Mako cares for Korra a great deal but both Bolin and Assmi knew there's more to it than caring, he loves her. And whether or not that Korra feels the same way can only Bolin guess from it. But if Korra was around and sees what Mako is doing, she would want Mako to see what this whole mess is doing to him.

And that is what Bolin and the others have thought about and tried to do on the second week, as Bolin was the first one to talk him down and then Assmi was the second person to talk with and soon enough Tenzin Korra's teacher had been the last person to talk with Mako and while he now sees what the search is doing to him, Mako said that he just can't give up on finding her, but he will take it easy with the non stop search and that brought some relief to the rest of Korra's friends.

At Tenzin's place where inside is the rest of Korra's friends all either sitting or standing around mopping waiting, hoping that the police will have some answers for them but not all will be doing the waiting.

A footsteps being heard by them as they turned their attention to person walking out of the hallway is Mako as he looks like a man on a mission that has barely have any sleep or anything to eat.

"Wait Mako, where are you going?" Assmi stood up as they too wanted to know the answer too.

"What does it look like? I'm going out to search for her." Mako answers bitterly as he brushed pass her as he was then halted by his brother Bolin.

"No man stop." Bolin tells him but he doesn't want to listen.

"Out of the way, Bolin." Mako said in a threatening tone but Bolin stands firm.

"Guys don't do this. We been searching for Korra since this started. The best we can do for Korra is that we wait." Jinora tells them as Mako scoffed at this.

"The Chief of the metal bending police is currently Interrogating the members of Equalists for the information about where Korra is now. So do a entire sweep of the city won't do anyone good." Assmi chimes in to persuade but Mako is not convinced by this.

"And you seriously think that I should just stand around while Korra is probably being tortured right now?!" Mako said to them.

"Look Bro, no one is suggesting that we should be doing nothing." Bolin tells him.

"But that is exactly what you people are saying!" Mako yelled at them raised his tone as they can now tell that the stress is eating away at him.

"Mako, we have already tried to do a whole search of the Equalists hangouts all the nights, even during the afternoon, but so far there's really nothing to know anything that the Equalists could be responsible." Bolin argued with him.

Mako was then silent at this as the tension was over the edge in this room that Jinora and her brother is nervous at this.

"As you know Tenzin has told us that the Equalists squad was taken out by someone else and did take Korra and whoever this person is, he and Korra may not be here." Assmi tells him as a reminder of what Tenzin says as this made Mako clenched his fists tightly as he just breathe out a fire from his noise as he is so frustrated at this.

"What... are you trying to say Assmi? That Korra may not be in the city?!" Mako asked in a calm anger tone.

"I'm afraid that may be exactly what I am saying." Assmi answered as this made Mako slowly turned away from Bolin and made his way to the two children.

Seeing he is coming their way, Jinora took her little brother out of the way, and watched as Mako stood over at a table, then out of no where, Mako then let out a loud rage as he brought both his arms as his fists are covered in fire as he slammed them down hard at the wooden table breaking it in half as the group are shocked by this.

Bolin never once seen his brother loose control like that, and now he feels like he needs to comfort him as he was about to, he felt someone grabbed his hand and turned to see Jinora shook her head as she knows that Mako needs to be alone for a moment as Bolin sighed heavily as he agreed with her.

They watched Mako let loose sobbing and heavily breathing from the frustration and stressed he is been feeling, as he hopes that he will find her wherever she is.

Suddenly the door was thrown wide open revealing another girl that is Jinora's sister, Ikki as she is breathing hard from the running she is been doing.

"Guys! Daddy wants you to come outside! It's an emergency!" Ikki tells them as they can see it must have been serious as they start to follow Ikki outside all but Bolin as he looks at his brother.

"Hey, man. Come on. Maybe Tenzin may have some answers." Bolin urges him this pique his attention as he turned to Bolin with a face that may have been given hope as he rubbed his face from the tears he had as he then nodded as he and Bolin rushed out to meet with Tenzin.

As the gang follows Ikki to the training center where Korra used to train air bending, they saw Tenzin and his wife Pema who is pregnant still with his child, as they are with some white lotus guards as Tenzin turns to his daughter hold her up in his arms and then he gently puts her down as he sees the gang in present as got this serious look on his face.

"Tenzin. We came as fast as we could. What's wrong?" Assmi asked as Tenzin sees that everyone is tense for what news he brings especially Mako.

"Everyone, I have bring disturbing news on my way here." Tenzin tells them as their eyes widened in surprise as he turned to the guards and leads the group to where the guards are at.

"Lin Beifong still hasn't discovered who took Avatar Korra but as I was on my way to the island, the news reports of a strange report on the news that is playing now." Tenzin explains as the guards moved out of his way as he approached the radio that was making unmaking sounds but Tenzin tunes it to its right frequency and soon enough, it's started working as everyone listened in on what the radio says.

"This just in coming in the view of north waters next to the monument temple island, it seems that there's someone coming in the view on rowing on a rowboat. We are still not sure who it is as the person is in hooded but the police in the airships are moving in to identify this unknown individual." News reporter stated.

Tenzin then turned to the group as they were confused by what the news is saying.

"As you can see, there seems to be someone new coming to Republic city through a rowboat. It's possible that this person may know the whereabouts of Korra." Tenzin said as this made the group gasp in shock at this.

"Wait a minute, you saying that this person may know where Korra is at?!" Bolin questions him.

"It's possible, but it's not verified yet. But there's more than that." Tenzin said as this made the group anxious about this.

"You think that this person, may very well be the one that kidnapped Korra, is that right?" Pema finish what her husband was about to say as this made Tenzin nodded grimly.

The group is shocked at this realization as Mako glare narrowed at this.

"Wait a second guys! I think something else is happening in the news." Jinora stated as her hearing caught something as the group turned their attention to the radio as Tenzin tuned up the radio again.

"We just got word from Tarrlok the leader of the strike force is moving in close to get in range to identify this hooded individual and before he headed out, he said it's possible that our Avatar is returning but cannot confirmed it at this time." News reporter stated.

This spread a complete disbelief across everyone's faces as their eyes were wide open at this realization news.

"You don't think... it could really be her right?" Ikki asked in wonder as they were unsure about this.

"Uh?! Where's Mako?!" Assmi says out of nowhere as they just noticed he is not with them anymore.

"Where...?" Pema started but was interrupted by Bolin.

"There!"

Everyone followed their attention to where Bolin is pointing at as Mako was just hop on Naga's saddle as he urged her to ride out.

"Mako, WAIT!" Assmi called out to him but he was already out of ear shot as he and Naga already jumped into the river as he has Naga to swim to the city.

"We got to catch up to him. Mako is not thinking straight, he believes that hooded person may be Korra!" Bolin said with a concern to his brother as everyone agreed with him.

"There's no time to wait on a ride on the Airship. We will take my bison to catch up with him." Tenzin suggested as they hold no argument with him.

Tenzin then turned to his family and his pregnant wife with a serious look on his face.

"Pema, you and the children stay here while we catch up with Mako and see if it's Korra." Tenzin asked them while Pema understand this, his children don't.

"No Dad. We have to come too. Korra is our friend!" Jinora pleaded with him.

"Yes daddy please!" Ikki and Meelo pleaded with him as Tenzin sighed heavily as walked to his children and kneel to their level as he looks at the them with a father expression look.

"I can't bring you with me to find out if it is her. I don't want you to be disappointed if it's not her. Now please, do not worry and stay with your mother until we come back okay?" Tenzin explained to his son and daughters with a heavy wight in his words.

As this made these words sunk into them as they slowly understand as they now have tears running down their faces.

"Just, just promise that you bring Korra back home okay daddy?" Jinora asked as this made Tenzin nod his head.

"I promise, we will bring her back home." Tenzin promised his children as they jumped into his arms in a bear hug embrace as he returned fool-hearty.

They stood like this for a moment as they broke up the embrace as he stood up and he looked his wife as she worried about him and Korra and hopes they come home safe as Tenzin read all from the look as he nod his head to her.

Tenzin now turned to Bolin and Assmi.

"Alright, follow me. I know where my bison is at and we need to move swiftly because my wife is right. The person coming here may not be Korra which is why we need to catch up with Mako soon. This way!" Tenzin explained to them and urged them to follow him as the three of them are rushing to the left direction to the stables are at.

Meanwhile in Republic City...

As Mako has been riding Naga as they swimming across the ocean to reach the city as the view is showing that they are close to docks as Mako is determined get to where to find a gathering of people.

Mako is clearly showing signs of hope, hope to see her again, and he doesn't care if it's not her that is coming cause even if it's not her he will be getting answers from the person that should know where she is at.

As he and Naga is getting close to the docks he then urged Naga to leap out of the waters and landed on solid ground as Naga is wet all over her fur as she shook violently to get dried off and it did.

Seeing that Naga cleaned herself Mako then ordered Naga to ride on as he and her rushed of great speed as they enter the city.

As they past most of the bystanders and the cars as they continue through the streets to see if they can find another docks which will be where the monument temple is viewed at with that in mind Mako had Naga to guide him to the location he knows where it is at.

It took a couple of hours, but eventually he halted Naga to stay as they arrive their destination. As he hopes off from Naga, he walks to the edge to see the airships are showing off the spotlights to see that the hooded person the the news talks about is true.

Mako still can't see the description of the person, but can see that the hooded person is almost here, Mako is shaking from either excitement or fear. Excited hope that it may be her or fear that it's not her and that this is someone else.

Mako then startled when he heard rumbling noises as he turned to see the trucks pulling up as Naga just snarled at the trucks but Mako hushed her as he knows who is in the trucks as the strike force hoped out of the trucks and rushed to the edge of the docks that seems to be waiting on the person to arrive and when he saw the armed troops got out of the trucks, he also sees one of the councilmen Tarrlok got out to and is walking to Mako.

"Greetings Mako. It would seem that you are here because you know who is coming here." Tarrlok says to him with a odd smirk as Mako does not find anything humorous about this.

"No, I don't know who is coming here. And frankly either do you." Mako replied in a bad mood.

"Oh come on Mako. Surly you should know who is coming here, otherwise you would not be here." Tarrlok said to him but Mako try to stay calm as he doesn't want an incident with a member of the council.

"I don't know it's Korra. You have no evidence to say it is her." Mako stated out the fact.

"Evidence? Boy, Korra is the Avatar! Korra is smart, a realistic, and can escape from any holdings of whoever captured her, even Amon. I don't need evidence or identification on who that person is to know it is Korra." Tarrlok countered with an inspiration but Mako doesn't buy what he is selling.

"If it is Korra, why does she need to where a hood to cover up her identity? It makes no sense." Mako questions this as made Tarrlok smirk widened as this doesn't put Mako at ease.

"Of course it does Mako! Is it not obvious?! She was obviously tortured for information to find whatever it is that person wants from her, Avatar Korra is obviously feel ashamed of returning to home in such a sad state she is in and does not want-" Tarrlok was just cut off from his sentence as Mako grabbed both ends of his collar shirt as Mako is staring straight at him with a fierce look in his amber eyes.

As his men noticed their boss is threatened and was about to move to assist him, when Tarrlok kept a cool face and hold out his hand to halt their position to not do anything as he thinks he has the situation under control as he didn't break eye contact with Mako.

"Do not talk about her like she is some symbol. Korra is a person as well as a avatar! And Korra wouldn't be captured in the first place if you hadn't manipulated her into your idea force!" Mako spat out at Tarrlok with such stress anger in his tone as his fists that is gripped Tarrlok's collar that emitting a smoke as his fists is threatening to go off burning his collar and possibly his face at any moment but Tarrlok still kept a cool calm.

"Careful there, Mako. This suit cost more than what you, the Avatar, and your brother earned from the tournaments." Tarrlok said with cool tone as he smirked at him as Mako grid his teeth as he is barely controlling his emotions right now.

"As for who is to blame for how she got captured, I think you can agree that it was her choice to schedule a one on one face off against Amon, don't you agree?" Tarrlok questions him as this made Mako make a strained hard anger across his face as he is threatening to start burning this guy right now.

"MAKO STOP!"

He and Tarrlok look to the direction where that voice comes from and soon enough they and Tarrlok's strike force sees Tenzin riding his bison in the air carrying not just Tenzin but Assmi and Bolin as the bison landed next to the strike force trucks as the ground shook by its landing.

"Let councilman Tarrlok go, Mako." Tenzin order him in a firm tone as he got up from the saddle and jumped off to land next to his bison but he didn't break eye contact with Mako and Tarrlok.

"Ah, councilman Tenzin. A pleasure to see you here too. And you brought the rest of the gang to greet this city's savior." Tarrlok says cheerfully but Tenzin is not amused by this.

"Quite Tarrlok. If you want to come out of this unscathed I suggest you keep shut while I talk some sense into the boy." Tenzin warned him as his eyes show that he is serious and Tarrlok did exactly what he said as Bolin and Assmi hop down from the bison as they look at Mako to plead him to stop.

"Come on bro! This isn't how we do things in the Avatar team!" Bolin begged his brother as Mako flinch from it.

"Please Mako. If you try to hurt him, you would be arrested and wouldn't be able to forgive yourself." Assmi chime in to talk some sense into him as Mako barely contain himself from the anger that fills him.

"Listen to your friends Mako. If Korra is here, would she wanted you to hurt him for her decision to go? Would she want you to resort to violence to blame someone that is not at fault? Think Mako. What would she say to you if she is seeing what you are doing?" Tenzin said wisely as Mako eyes widened in shock at this statement.

And when he pondered on what Korra would say, Mako calmed down and let go of Tarrlok as he looked down depressed as Tarrlok continued smiling as he brushed off the burned marks of his collar shirt.

"Good choice boy. Now if you don't mind, I will be the first to welcome back our hero to Republic city." Tarrlok says as he departed to join the rest of his men by the edge of the docks.

Tenzin walked to Mako who is still sulking at his own thoughts as Tenzin then placed his hand on his shoulder to reassuring him as he barely noticed it.

"Did Tarrlok says that Korra is coming? Do you believe him?" Tenzin asked as Mako made no reply for a few moments as Bolin and Assmi walked to them as they are sharing a concern for him and curious about what Tarrlok said to him.

"... He seems to believe so, but I am not sure if that person in the hood is her." Mako answers as he is sounding more worn out than ever as Tenzin understands as Bolin speaks up to his brother.

"Mako, don't worry. I am sure we will find out if it's her or if that person could tell us what happened to her."

This perked Mako's interest as he lifted his head to see that they are having a belief that they will see her soon as he then slowly regain a small smile as he then agrees with them.

"Okay, thanks guys." Mako thanked them as this brought a great relief to his team.

Tenzin then heard a loud commotion coming from the direction that Mako came from as there is a audience in a bunch of people that came here but was halt by some of the metal bending police that just arrived before the people did.

"Come. We must prepare for the arrival of this individual." Tenzin tells the group as they understood what he meant even if it's not who they wanted to see, they need to brace themselves for this individual that could be the one who took the Avatar as they started walk to the edge docks with the strike force and Tarrlok.

As they come to a stop, they see the airships coming overhead as they are still showing the spotlights of the person rowing the boat as tension is in the air as it drew ever closer.

Mako clenched his fists as he is shaking from anticipation and Tenzin is steadily calm as he stares at the hooded person and Bolin who is reassuring his brother to calm himself and Assmi is looking almost scared to who might it be and Tarrlok still has that smirk thinking he knows who it is.

Then at last, the hooded person rowing the boat, has docked and stood up very slowly as the person got off the boat and walked on the concrete floor as the hooded individual walked slowly as the crowd namely the people in the got a clear look at the person's cloak.

The hood was covering the face and the color of it is brown and for some reason the person sounds like almost out of breath but Mako ears didn't stray him enough that he almost recognized the sounds as he now started to walk to the hooded person.

Each step he took was that the images of Korra surfaced in his mind and as he was about to walk up to him the unknown individual just collapsed on his or her knees as this made him and team avatar move in as they now crowded around the person, Mako then got on one knee and slowly reaches to remove the hood and when he did, the identity of the person face is confirmed.

Team avatar, Tenzin, and the people in the back that got a good look was silent as the person is the one that was missing for the last three weeks, the person that was a friend to most of the people that tried to halt the Equalists and Amon the best she could, that person is none other than Avatar Korra.

Korra looks the same except for some reason her eyes were nearly shut from the lack of water as the paleness of her brown/black itch face shows as she is really look like she was about to pass out.

Assmi is about having a meltdown of tears of joy as she and the others finally found her best friend, and Bolin is too shocked beyond belief that this is Korra that came home, Tenzin who is her Air bending teacher is now starting to show tears as he is showing a most caring smile that he knew that he would find her again and as for Mako, he is too shocked as his eyes were widened as tears of joy were showing too that he was almost afraid that he would never find her.

Before anyone could say anything, Korra then slowly shut her eyes as exhaustion has taken its toll as she leaned forward as Mako caught her in his arms and as he was holding her Mako is now starting to sobbing as he hugged her tightly as team avatar is sharing a beautiful moment the people is started to move in as there is some the camera crew but was halt back by the metal bending police.

As Tenzin watched the display in front of him he can only say one about this whole thing.

"Welcome back, Korra."

24 hours later...

It's been two days since she came back and news of her arrival would have reached the ears not just the republic city but the Equalists and Amon mostly however, to the whole world as newspapers were printed by the headliners of the reporters and recorded a splint image of her being back.

The one person that seems to be taking the credit of her return and announcing to the entire city is Tarrlok. He may be one the members of the council like Tenzin, but he is still the squad leader of the strike force that has kept half of the peace therefore the people praise him almost like he had anything to do with Korra being back and the truth didn't matter to them even if Tenzin, the council, or even Lin Beifong could do anything about it as he took control of the whole thing with a few words that the people instantly bought. "I am grateful that my hero, OUR hero, Avatar Korra has returned. And as she is in good hands of the best doctors in the city, I promise you all that whoever took our beloved Avatar will pay dearly for this and will receive the people justice!"

As he said them, many people rallied at this statement and even though some of the reporters asked if it was Amon Tarrlok came up with a convincing lie that made everyone believe him and it didn't matter what he said to them because at this point the people of republic city is considering Tarrlok as a favoritism hero in the city made his reputation skyrocketed.

As for Korra, after the night her friends and teacher took her back home where she will be resting there until she has fully recovered and discovered that the condition is worse than everyone thought.

Whoever did these inquiries to her, seems that some of the wounds were life threatening as this disturbed her friends even Tenzin as he was having a good control of his emotions unlike Mako who nearly went berserk at this as he was calm down by his brother and Assmi as she was not dealing with this well as tears of sadness showed along with Tenzin's family.

The doctors that were brought to Tenzin's Air temple island and home, they did their best to assist the healing process but it will take days before Korra will be back on her feet seeing this Tenzin had to make contact with his mother who lives with the southern water tribe but it will take weeks before a reply happens.

Tenzin had to make a decision to go visit his mother personally taking his children with but have to leave his pregnant wife behind at his home as Pema was reluctant about it but she understood why as she wishes him good luck and spirits keep him well as he and the children left hours ago.

Now in the present as sun is shining through Korra's room window as Korra is in covers of her bed and has bandages on her arms, her chest, her torso, her legs, and some stitches on her face and back.

As she stirring in sleep as she having images of strange things about her being naked with a man but couldn't see his face, then her images pop up to show that she was getting hurt badly and she looked like she was trying to fight back but always getting her ass handed to her, then finally the next images shows she is dying from her wounds and dehydration from lack of water as she found herself in a rowboat trying to get home.

Suddenly she opened her eyes as she is groaning with discomfort as she barely sees that she is back home and in her room as she noticed that she is covered in bandages as Korra sighed heavily as she try's to get her upper body up but as she did Korra felt the pain intensified as she immediately fell on her back from the ribs.

Suddenly the door was wide open revealing Assmi with a concern look that she noticed what Korra was trying to do as she rushed to Korra's side.

"Korra! Don't try to get up. You are really hurt right now. The wounds we found on you were life threatening. They been treated, but if you try to move the patches won't stop the bleeding." Assmi cautioned her as she heard it, Korra sighed heavily at this.

"Uh, how... how did I get here?" Korra asked weakly as Assmi is worried about her.

"You came back on a rowboat and fell unconscious due to dehydration and loss of blood. The doctors that Tenzin brought here have treated you but in order for you to heal, Tenzin has to visit his mother so that he can bring her here so in hopes that she will treat you." Assmi explained to her as Korra listens to every word despite her condition.

"I.. I see." Korra says as she slowly move to look at Assmi and sees that she hasn't change since the weeks has past then Korra looks wonder about something.

"How, how is everyone doing?" Korra asked her about her friends as Assmi was more than happy to answer that.

"Everyone is okay. The kids went with Tenzin to visit their grandma and to help to persuade her to come to help you. You are really a role model to them." This made Korra chuckle softly at this as Assmi chime in as the two have a good laugh.

"Pema is still pregnant with Tenzin's child and is in the living room about to check on you to see if you are awake and be fixing you something to eat." Assmi continue on with the explanation as this made Korra smile warmly as she must have caused a great worry to her and didn't wish Pema to worry as she is always like a second mother to her.

"As for the boys, well..." Assmi trailed off as she was trying find a way to tell her about them as this made Korra sit up a little as she is feeling a bit pain but is nothing serious as Korra pays attention to her with curiosity and worried about Bolin and Mako.

"What? Please tell me." Korra asked almost plead as Assmi place her hand on her shoulder not to worry.

"Don't worry. Nothing happened to them, it just..." Assmi tried to reassure her as she is now going to explain to her about them.

"When we brought you here and examined you, we were disturbed by the cuts and bruises that you took and some of them were life threatening as I pointed out, but Mako and Bolin were anger by this. Mako mostly, as Bolin was barely controlled himself Mako on the other hand, he went out to reassumed finding more hidden bases of the Equalists movement for answers to who took you. Bolin went with him and after that night, Mako was a wreck while Bolin was worned out. The only thing that Mako was able to pull himself together, was that he came to look out for you while you resting to recover, you should have seen how he pulled himself up just to take care of you."

Korra's eyes, if they haven't been in tears they are now as she is crying to herself now as her disappearance have caused bad troubles to her friends, her team, her family and as she cried for like a minute to let the process in, she then looked to Assmi with sorrow.

"Assmi, I.. I am so sorry to what happened to you guys! I wish I have never tried to go to that temple!" Korra said in anguish as this made Assmi shedding tears of her own as she hug Korra trying not to hurt her as she returned the hug.

"It's not your fault Korra! These things happen and we are just happy that you came back." Assmi says to her trying to help her not to blame herself.

"I missed you guys." Korra reply heartfelt as Assmi can feel her heart warm at hearing that.

"We missed you too Korra. More than you know." Assmi said to her as she let her feelings know to Korra as this was probably one of these times that she let her guard down around someone she cares about.

As they embraced each other for a while they break it up when they hear a foot steps coming as they see Pema holding a tray that has some food and cup of water and Penal look very happy to see Korra awake.

"Korra! Oh thank the spirits that you are awake! We are all worried sick about you." Pema exclaimed as Korra looks down at this as Assmi reassuring her that she hasn't nothing to be sorry about.

As Pema walked over to where Korra is at she then set down the tray on top of the dashboard so that Korra may want to have something to eat.

"Thank you very much Pema." Korra offers gratitude to her as Pema reply with a smile on her face as she got down to Korra's level as she hugged her as Korra returned the same affection for a minute before they break off.

"So where are Mako and Bolin now?" Korra asked as Pema was surprised by this as she looked at Assmi as she nodded her head to her as this confirmed that she told Korra of the things that has been going on with the group she then turned to Korra to answer her question.

"Ever since you been captured the pro bending tournament was put on hold for news if you have been found and rescue. But with news shows you were too badly injured, things were up in the air if it should continued as planed or if the fire Ferrets are dropping out of the tournament. With things are up in the air, and with you need to recover, Mako and his brother Bolin went back to the tournament to getting back to hone their skills for better results and to be prepared for the Equalists and Amon. Plus, Mako need to finally finds a place to rest up and to stop going out to find more Equalists hideouts all the time now that you been found." As she finished explaining things Korra is getting this look about what she means that Mako needs to stop finding hideouts and when Assmi sees this, Pema nod her head to urge her to tell her as Assmi sighed before she started explaining about what Mako was doing when they were looking for her.

It took a few minutes but Korra understand perfectly about this as she solemnly agreed with her that Mako needs to find peace and comfort that things with are okay right now then Assmi asked the question now that Korra is good enough to answer.

"Korra, what happened that night? What happened in that temple? Who took you?" As she asked it Pema too is wondering about this to as Korra looks away for a moment as she was silent for a moment like she was trying to remember to.

"I... I... I don't know. I remember, seeing someone waiting for me. I thought it was Amon. I tried to look for him inside of the temple but, UHH! I can't.. remember." Korra try's to explain then out of nowhere she then receive a shocked pain in the head as she is groaning in pain as she was immediately laid back as Pema and Assmi got concerned for her.

"Korra! Are you okay?!" Pema asked worrying for her as Korra continues to be in pain as she was clutching her head for a while as Assmi grabbed the side of Korra's covers in concern then Korra stopped groaning as the pain in her head disappeared as this really confused her as Korra sit up again.

"What was that about Korra? It looked like you were in pain from something." Assmi says to her as Korra agrees with her but was really confused from this.

"I don't know. As I was trying to remember, something just hurts my head so much. What is happening to me?" Korra asked almost scared at this realization as Assmi and Pema don't know about this too.

"Well, something did happen to you at that temple. Whoever that captured you must have something to do with your memory." Assmi pointed out as this was disturbed to Pema and Korra especially.

"Oh spirits, why would anyone want to do something to Korra's memories just to hide things from her?" Pema asked in wonder as this made Korra silent at this.

"Maybe who this person is could have plans for Korra." Assmi says out of speculation as this made silent tension in the room for a while before Pema decided to break the silence.

"Well, don't worry Korra. We're sure that we will help you regain your memories about what happened to you one day. Just try not to think about it too much." As she said it with kind comfort this ease Korra thoughts just a little but not enough as she now looks to them with a concern look.

"What's, what is the activity on the Equalists movement and Amon? Has that bastard done anything to the city?" Korra asked them as Penal and Assmi shook their heads.

"The thing is Korra, there has been no activity going on with the Equalists or Amon at all for the past three weeks." Assmi answers her this puzzled Korra at this.

"What do you mean Assmi?" Korra wants an explanation as this is not right about how this sounds for some reason.

"What I mean is, ever since you been captured, everyone thought that the Equalists has something to do with it, but when the metal bending police and the strike force search the temple we found bodies of the Equalists but no Amon, it confirmed the suspicious to captain Beifong that someone else was there that night and the person may have been responsible for what happened with the Equalists but it was only rumors and speculation goes around and no one believe this. Except for the captain, myself, Pema, Tenzin, Mako, Bolin, the kids, and surprisingly Tarrlok. Since then, there hasn't been any activity about Amon or the Equalists since the night you were taken, it was almost like they were waiting on something for some reason." Assmi explained to her as this made Korra surprise by this as this doesn't sound like something that Amon does.

"Were... were any of the Equalists killed?" Korra asked as this was tense about this as it was uncomfortable with this possible knowledge.

"Only some of them. The others were unconscious and was wounded from the fight. Captain Beifong took them for interrogation and hasn't made progress so far." Assmi reply in the details she remembered as this made Pema wanted to reassure Korra.

"None of that matters right now Korra. You are safe here. Just remember that none of this is your fault okay?" This made Korra a bit okay with the tone that Pema is speaking in as she doesn't normally say that tone.

For about a minute of silence as Assmi and Pema are wondering how Korra feels about all this, guilt is probably how she feels about this then Pema just gasp in surprise as it caught the surprise of both Assmi and Korra.

"Oh my! I almost forgot! You shouldn't be letting the food getting cold. Here eat up!" Pema says in a surprise tone as she held the to Korra as she graciously accept it as she lay on her covers as she took a moment before she broke a smile.

"Thanks Pema. I better eat up so that I may be ready." Korra says in a confident tone that the two hadn't heard in weeks as this made confused to what she meant.

"Wait Korra slow down eating okay? Getting ready for what?" Assmi asked her as Korra is follow the advice as she is eating the eggs and surpping down the glass of water as she is showing her trademark smirk.

"Getting back to kick ass in pro bending." Korra declared as this made reassuring to the both of them that Korra is starting to act like herself but is she saying it because it's what they want to hear or Korra is saying it to hide how she feels about this. Perhaps both they will only know that once Tenzin returns with his mother.

1 week later...

Night fells in the city, and the building that is in the city and can be seen by view in the sea next to the air temple island is at as it is host a pro bending tournament which was continuing because of the Avatar missing, by the knowledge that Mako and Bolin knows so far.

Speaking of the street brothers, they are currently training in the practice room which is also the place where they been staying so far as it is more than just a home but also a place where they can earned money and where they can honed their skills however, because of a easy deal that Mako struck with Assmi father, he and Bolin was making more money they ever thought possible but they so far been spending the food and some better outfits.

Bolin is in a fighting stance doing some stretch first before he does something fancy like he just jumped and landed in front of the net and does quick jabs right and left bending the earth coin rings and it's the net with good accuracy as he just smiled at this.

"Oh yeah! Uh uh! Who is the man?!" Bolin yells out in enthusiastic with himself as he then turned to his pet ferret Pabu.

"Hey Pabu! Did you see that?! It was awesome! Been working on that move for a week!" Bolin asked his ferret companion but was disappointed when he saw Pabu is taking a nap. He used to do the sorts of pranks before Korra disappeared but Bolin can understand why.

He then hear that Mako is still working hard at his as Bolin sees his brother triple fire punches at the net and finish his combo with a spinning tornado kick fire attack as he is breathing heavily as sweat pours from his face.

"Whoa bro. You okay there? You been act this 24/7 since we been honing our game here." Bolin says to him as Mako is starting to pace himself as he was getting ready for some more combo unleashed.

"I'm fine. Just... it's been a while since we done this." Mako reply as he just started to do more punches and kicks as each move launches fire attacks at the target.

"This is about Korra isn't it?" Bolin asked base on a good hunch as Mako just stopped his punch as this silence answers his question.

"Look Mako, you been more brooding than just practice ever since we got here. Just relax man, Korra is going to be fine." Bolin tells him as Mako just slowly calm his nerves down as he is listening in on what his brother saying to him.

"Look why don't you take a break for about five minutes then we could talk about what's really bothering you, okay?" Bolin said to him in a brotherly manner as he doesn't do that tone often and Mako knows it and after a few moments he sighed at this.

"Alright." Mako said to Bolin as he walks to the bench where his towel and water bottle is at when he got there, Mako grab the towel wipes off the sweat from his face and he sits on the bench and reach to drink the water bottle as he gulped it down to cool off.

Seeing he is successful convincing his brother, Bolin turned to his pet to give him two double thumbs up like he did a good job but Pabu still taking a nap and Bolin groans at this as he then reassuming his training as he gets ready to do something new he wants to try a screech noise in the speaker on the wall is like grabbing the attention to anyone that hears it and the brothers knows what that meant, is the announcer that will be speaking through the speaker.

"Gooood evening ladies and gentlemen! We got an important announcement that we just got word from the Airbending master Tenzin. I know things have been a depressing the last couple of weeks but I got a confirmation that we will have the pro bending tournament to start because the missing member of the Fire Ferrets is coming back after days of resting and recovery, that's right folks, the Avatar is back in pro bending! I hope you all are excited about this, because I sure am, we wasn't sure if Korra is well enough to enter pro bending or if she will be back in the field with the city's hero, councilman Tarrlok, but we did. So players, better get your teams ready for tonight, because pro bending tournaments is back on track!"

The brothers were in a state of shock beyond belief as they couldn't believe what they just heard, and before they could even register the information they heard a familiar voice.

"Hi guys! Did you miss me?!" As soon as they heard it, they turned their direction at the exit and enter room to see the person who is an important member of the team, is none other than Avatar Korra.

Korra is wearing the Fire ferret outfit as they can see that there is no bandages on her face or her arms as she has the gloves, the suit, the greaves, and all that she doesn't have on yet is her helmet as she looks at the boys with the same characteristic smirk that shows that she is happy and confident as to where her helmet is at well she is holding it under one of her arms as the brothers still couldn't believe it is her.

Pabu perked up and is happy to see her as it raced to her direction and hop towards her as she noticed him just in time to catch as he is licking her right side cheek as it made her giggle.

"Alright, alright Pabu. I missed you too." Korra says to him sweetly as she pet softly on his little head.

"Korra! You actually came back!" Bolin exclaimed in happily as he rushed to give her a hug as she returned the same affection.

"Of course I came back. I wouldn't want to miss out on the tournament or you guys." Korra reply to him as they broke up the hug as Pabu just hop out of her arms as he got enough affection as Mako walked to their direction who is unsure but grateful to see her okay as it shows his gentle smile.

"It's good to see you Korra. We miss you very much." Mako said to as she returned her own smile as she nodded her head in agreeing with him.

"I know. I miss you too, Mako." Korra reply as she and Mako then brought into a group hug by Bolin who has a biggest smile ever.

"Oh man, this is great! Team Fire Ferret and Team Avatar is back together again!" Bolin says in inspirational as they laughed together at this for a while before they broke up the hug.

"Um, Bolin. Can you excuse me and Mako for a moment? He and I need to talk about some things, we will be in the locker room before the match start okay?" Korra asked a odd question that surprised Mako but Bolin has seen that it must be important so he won't question it.

"Okay. I will see you guys at the locker room then, we can't be late for the match." Bolin reminded them as she nodded in agreement with him as Bolin walked out of the room with Pabu tagging along leaving Korra and Mako alone to talk things out.

As they are alone, they were wanted to make eye contact but unsure about what to say as Mako has figured what she wants to talk about and it's making it hard for him to have the words to explain and Korra too wanted to say something about what accrued since her captured, but she too is having hard to say too. Realizing that they don't have a lot of time to let the silence continue they immediately say the one thing comes into their minds.

"I just wanted to say..." the two almost said the same sentence as the nervous hits them as they sheepishly scratch the back of their heads and little embarrassed at this.

"Um, you first." Mako politely said to her, she shook her head at this.

"No, no, you should go first." Korra insisted him to start as Mako sighed at this.

"Alright." Mako said as he is now looking at her with a straight and apology look as he now start.

"I just wanted to say that when you were captured, I blamed myself for what happened because that night I was hanging out with Assmi, not that anything happened between us, you understand?"

Korra listen patiently for his explanation and nodded her head confirm that she knows that the two of them were only friends as Mako continues on.

"The point is, we frantically look everywhere for you, trying to find and save you, while the way it is going on... I did things that I am not proud of, I didn't kill anyone but I have used scare torture tactics on some of the Equalists recruits some of them were teenagers like us, but I didn't care about what I was doing all that I care about was trying to find you and when I later learned that you weren't in the city or that Amon didn't capture you, I felt like everything that I done trying to find you was wasted and I haven't had slept or eat anything since. When I learned what I have done, I figured that if you knew what I done just to try and find you, then I knew you wouldn't forgive me, so I understand why you can't because I don't like what I have done and for that, I'm so sorry Korra."

As Mako finishes his conviction he looks away from her, not being able to face her as he thinks he knows how she must feel now, but then she had her hand touch gently on his right side face to make him look at her, and when he did Mako wasn't expecting to see the look he saw on her.

Korra was looking apathetic and compassion for Mako as it shows her eyes that she understood his actions.

"No Mako, I am the one to blame for all of this. Not you Mako." Korra firmly told him as this made his eyes widened by this as he shook his head to disagree with her.

"Korra, that's not true. You have nothing to do with my choices, you were caught off guard and captured. You have no way of knowing what could happen." Mako tried to convince her but Korra shows signs of guilt and sadness in her eyes as she wanted to explain to him.

"But, I chose to call out Amon that night, because I wanted to end the threat to the city as soon as possible. I also chose to be apart of that asshole's force, because I didn't know what to do with the options that was presented to me. Tenzin said that I shouldn't let things like fear control me about what Amon can do and if I hadn't gone to that temple, you wouldn't have to make those choices in the time of my capture. All of this is my fault Mako, and I don't know what to do as the Avatar that is supposed to bring balance to the city and I am scared."

As Mako listen to every word, he felt her trembling as it shows her vulnerability that he feels guilty for making her feel that way as this made him comfort her by hugging her affectionally as this took her off guard but quickly returned the hug.

"Korra, you don't have to do this alone. As Bolin said, we are a team, team Avatar, and that means whatever problems that comes our way we will tackle them together, because we are strong together than alone, don't be afraid of what happened or how we ended up here, because I will stand by you for whatever doubts you have or what you are afraid about. Have faith Korra." Mako says to her with every word meant as he felt her nod her head as they stay like this for a minute before they broke up the embrace.

As Korra wipes off the tears from her eyes, she looks at Mako with a smile warmly as she is grateful for him cheering her up.

"Thank you, Mako." Korra says to him as he returned the smile of his own.

"It's no problem Korra." Mako reply to her as he reached out to grab her hand, as this move made her blush a bit on the cheeks.

"Come on. We better not be late for match coming up." Mako reminds her as this made her mentally Facepalm as she agrees with him, then Mako leads her out of the training room as they head to the locker room down the hallway to get change and ready for the match.

30 minutes later in the Pro bending match room...

Even though it hasn't been the same since the Avatar was captured, the arena most certainly hasn't changed much.

The stands hasn't changed much as it is already filled with a dozen people that wanted to came for the matches of Pro bending but mostly they came because of their Avatar is returning and as for the arena, it's still a hexagonal arena with the same lines of two different sides of red and blue teams will be at.

As the cheering section is yelling for the match to get started, they quickly quite it down when they see the announcer holding the microphone speaker as he is now speaking to the crowd in the stadium.

"Good evening everyone! Are you all ready for the intense action matches of your lifes?!" As he asked it everyone rouse from their seats as roared for saying yes as the whole arena heard their answer loud and clear.

"Okay okay! Everyone settled down and I will get on with the reminder on how these matches won and work." As he said it loud enough for everyone to hear the people calmed down and sit back in their seats so that the announcer can explain.

"As you all know the rules, the starting teams are to start at the first zones at the center against the opposing teams. And if he or she was push back to the second line they cannot returned to the first zone, if the entire team is pushed into the second zone then the green light buzz will have the other team to advance into their enemy team territory first zone. And if either team was pushed out of the arena, then the winner team takes the first round to rest for the second round and so forth. Lastly if the team is to be pushed to the third zone then the green light buzz will signal the team advanced further to the enemy team second zone. The rest of rules is something that we remember about right folks?"

This made crowd roared yes in the exciting tones that they can't wait for the matches to get started as they now calmed down again for the referees to continue the announcement.

"Now that we got the rules covered up, let's get ready to bring on the teams. In the blue corner, coming in the view it's the team that is the sturdiness and one of the pro teams it is... the ROCK MOLES!" As soon he said it, the crowd cheered as the spotlight shows the team on the extending bridge that is moving to guid the team as they are wearing brown dark uniforms and helmets as they are three teens giving out the gratitude they are hearing from their adoring fans.

"They been showing great progress in the weeks later and let me tell you, they are not to be taken lightly as they would have a match with the Fire Ferrets if the Avatar wasn't captured." The announcer explained as the bridge connects to the arena as the Rock moles moved into the blue territory waiting on their opponents.

"And their challengers, the one team that was recruited into the industries business, the team that lost its important member but has come back into the team for the biggest comeback ever! Give it up for the FIRE FERRETS!!!" As he said it, the crowd gave out the biggest cheers ever as the spotlight turns to the extending bridge to show the Fire Ferrets has gotten their uniform suits on color of red like the last couple of weeks as Bolin waved to the adoring crowd, Mako is having a cool look across his face, and Korra looks like she is more than ready to rumble as she has gotten the most confident look she ever has.

"Alright, we need to be careful with dealing with these guys, their not going to be like most of teams we faced before." Mako stated to the team as this caught Bolin's attention while for some reason Korra is still not concerned about it, almost like she doesn't care.

"Why? Because the three of them are earthbenders that can dig underground?" Bolin joked about it while Mako is looking serious.

"First of all, you know that each teams is supposed to have water, fire, and earth benders to be in a team. Second of all, this team is called the Rock Moles for a reason. Their durability and specialty of defense is more stronger than most teams, even us." Mako reminds him as he was ready for a reply, he didn't however expect Korra to answer in a surprising tone.

"We will beat them, no problem at all." This caught Mako attention as Korra is, well looking a bit edgy and odd as Bolin was not gonna be surprised in fact, this made him smile at this as he thinks that this is in the bag.

"Korra, are you ok?" Mako asked in concern but Korra turned to him with a confidence smile and aggressive look.

"I'm fine Mako. In fact, I've never been better than before. This guys ain't got nothing on us." Korra reply to him as this made Bolin came in to hug her as he wears the cocky grin wide.

"Now that's more like it Korra! You heard her man, these guys are going down." Bolin agrees with enthusiasm as this doesn't ease Makos worries especially what he has barely saw.

But can't think anything about it, cause the bridge is now connected to the arena, as Korra and Bolin hustle to the positions leaving Mako to walk behind them as he wouldn't be able to talk about what he saw or at least suspect as he now needs to focus on the match as he joins them in the red territory area.

As the crowd cheered and roars for the match to begin as the two teams gets on their fighting positions to be ready to start as the announcer from the stands calls out.

"Now that the rules are have been reminded, and the teams are here discussing their battle tactics, let the pro bending match tournament... BEGIN!!!!"

Hearing the bell rang, the teams are about to get to strike, when the big guy that looked like he is the leader has started to step forward to ready to attack as he then started talking.

"So, you guys are the Fire ferrets? Ha! More like the Fire lemores, as you are not really strong because... AHHH!" The big guy was cut off from his sentences as the quick water whip just hit him straight as he was caught off guard completely as he was thrown off the arena as everyone was shocked to see the rock moles is already down it's leader, as one of the lanterns glow blue signaling the team having two members in the field remaining.

As silence fell to the crowd they took a moment, before they roared cheering for the Fire ferrets as the rock moles turned to see it was Korra who has this edgy look on her face as she is bending the water with her arms ready for the next strike.

"You were saying?" Korra asked in a confident tone as her teammates were surprised that Korra took out the leader so fast and hard.

"Oh, you little...!" One of the opposing teammates says before he started to his fireball thrusting his punches but Korra quickly evade them and then used the water below the arena she bending them as she swirls the water is fast pace before launching a water tornado at the two opponents that couldn't have time to Dodge them as they took the full brunt of it as they too were sent flying off the arena as this signals that the rock moles just lost the first round.

"Annnd there we have it folks! The Avatar shows her new found strength after 4 weeks and she still packs a mean swing. The first round goes to the Fire ferrets, get ready for the second round!" The announcer calls it as Korra and Bolin cheered at what she did, but Mako on the other hand, looks surprise by what she did. The Rock moles are no pushovers but Korra beat them like they were no big deal.

'Korra, what's going on with you?' Mako thinks to himself as he now rejoined his teammates as they see the Rock moles climbing up the ladders and enter back to the arena as they were a bit soaked but they are not happy with the results.

"Now, I hope you have enough time to talk of tactics because it is time for the second round, begin!!!" The announcer called out as the crowd in the stands cheered for the Fire Ferrets especially Korra to win.

As the teams have started to launch their attacks at each other, while Mako and Bolin have thrown in some combos that barely made a dense on the moles, Korra was able to do some watery bending slashes at the moles they are receiving the cuts on their uniforms, the big guy that was smack talking came in to earth bend the rock rings at Korra but she blocked them with ease with a huge water slash and then proceeded to follow it up to turn around and around and then the water slashed in all directions in the arena as Mako and Bolin ducked from it, the rock moles were once again sent flying out of the arena as they were screaming down the water that surrounds the arena making the second round goes to the Fire ferrets again as the crowd roared at this as the bell rang with the lanterns glow blue again.

"I... I am lost of words that just happened! The avatar from the Fire Ferrets just pulled a big water bending technique that no one has seen before, and it scored her team the win of the pro bending match! Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the winner of the first match of the pro bending tournament, the FIRE FERRETS!!!!" The announcer has spoke out to the people and they have cheered at the Fire ferrets and Avatar Korra for the win.

As the Fire Ferrets, mainly Korra and Bolin congratulated each other with Mako watching Korra with concern for her. He has seen her fight before with grace and sometimes can act reckless but he has never seen her fight like that before because she was fighting with more than just technique it was filled with more aggression than he had felt when fighting.

"Mako! Come on!" Bolin calls out as this pushed Mako out of his train of thought as he sees that Korra and Bolin are on the bridge heading to the showers but wait on him to join them as he decided to rushed to join them.

It doesn't change the fact that Mako will eventually have to talk to someone about this, and that he will have to keep a close eye on her because something has changed about her, it's not just the scars but something else entirely.

Hours later back at Tenzin's home island...

It was a great match that she and her team finished up and they make it a celebration back at her teachers home where they party but not too much because of the kids but they say they wanted to have fun party too while Tenzin is worried sick for his children, Pental on the other hand gave the approval and it was a blast.

While Mako was just watching for some reason not having fun at all, Bolin reassuring her that he is back to being a brood, but Korra has a suspicion that he is watching her but she took Bolin's advice and not having to worry about it she, Bolin, and the rest of her friends and family had a blast on the night.

Later on it was getting late, Mako says that he and Bolin will catch up her about some things important involving Amon and she agrees and they left soon after that. Then Assmi decided that she needs to go to her father's house where it's something related about the industries company and Korra was a bit worried that her father would do something bad but Assmi reassuring her that it's not something like that and with that said she too left home.

With her friends gone, she decided to go to bed for rest for tomorrow as her teacher Tenzin would have her working on the Air bending training and that she needs rest still from the ordeal. Tenzin's mother Katara has done what she can and her water bending healing abilities worked like a charm but said that she needs to take a few days of rest for the rest to heal completely as there were a few scars in particular that she hasn't been able to heal. But said that those are among the wounds that needs to heal with time, hence why it took Korra long to get into the pro bending tournament in a week.

With Tenzin's family gone to sleep, Korra too got into covers in hopes to fall asleep as she is trying to sleep but was getting restless moving in her bed in different directions trying not to move in her sleep because she is currently having some vivid dreams that she is groaning in her sleep and when she stops moving in her covers almost immediately as she got this curve smile across her but then.

Korra is now hearing a faint humming sound, almost a flute tune in her ears as she was holding on to the covers tightly as the music sound grows a bit loud and soon enough she hears a strangely familiar odd voice.

'Come to the temple' this got Korra to open up her eyes as she immediately stood up from her pillow as she is confused to why she heard it.
