I guess my story has to start when my Grandfather took me on my very first journey in his TARDIS.

He looked at me and said, "Alright, Kino. Where do you want to go first?"

I thought long and hard about it. I could go anywhere, do anything. So, I looked at him and said, "Where did you go when you first started, Papa?"

He grinned at me and said, "Hold on to something."

He started up the TARDIS, running around pressing buttons and pulling levers. I watched his every move, as I held into the railing tightly.

When the TARDIS landed, I was so excited that I ran towards the Double doors.

My Grandfather stopped me with one word, "Kino!"

I turned around and faced him, wincing at his stern face. "Yes, Papa?"

"What have I told you about running to the doors without thinking?"

I gulped and recited what he always told me, "Don't run to the doors without thinking, because there could be anything behind them and I can get hurt."

My Grandfather nodded. "Precisely, but you forgot one thing..."

I tilted my head, trying to think. "What would that be?"

He pulled out a small red metal stick. "You forgot this!" He said excitedly, with a grin.

My eyes widened and I ran to give him a hug. "I get my own Sonic Screwdriver???"

"You bet you do! Happy Birthday, Kiddo!"

I took my new Sonic Screwdriver and ran around, waving it in the air. "Yes! My very own Sonic Screwdriver!"

My Grandfather chuckled and walked to the doors. "Come on, the Universe awaits!"
