Lapis and I walked into her room, followed by the sound of the door closing behind us. "Wanna blunt?" she asks, walking over to her desk and grabbing a pack of cigarettes. What do I say?! What if I said no?! Would she think I'm lame?! Aagahsdankjd--- "Um, Peridot?" My train of thought was interrupted by a concerned Lapis. She held up the pack in front of my face with a hopeful expression. "Doooo yooouuu waaaant oonnnnee?" Lapis asks slowly, mocking my slow reaction. "Uh, sure!" I blurt out, cursing myself.

She took two out, and pulled a small lighter out of her leather jacket pocket. I've never smoked before, so I didn't even know which way the thingy went into my mouth. So, I carefully watched Lapis as she placed the cigarette between her lips, orange side in...? Then she lit it with her lighter. She handed me the small thing, and I carefully did exactly as Lapis did.

I placed it between my lips, and Lapis walked up to me with a smirk. She held her lighter up, and lit mine, and as she was doing so, I took this moment to study her facial features further. Her tongue was sticking out to the side, and her eyes were half-lidded, further exposing her dark eye shadow that complimented her blue-grey eyes. She had absolutely no blemishes, freckles, pimples, nothing. But before I could study any further, Lapis stepped back, and I suddenly tasted this awful thing.

I breathed in, and felt a sting in my chest, and I immediately began to have a coughing fit. I tried holding it in, but it made me look even more retarded, so I took the cigarette out for a moment and coughed the smoke out of my precious 17 year-old lungs. As soon as my little episode ended, I looked up and saw Lapis staring at me, and I could tell she was trying her hardest not to laugh. 

However, she failed, and she let out a snort and burst out laughing. I stood there, my face probably as red as a tomato. "You've never smoked before, have you?" Lapis asked after she caught her breath. "Of course I--uh.....n-no..." I mutter, looking down in embarrassment. "Was I that obvious?" I asked. "Well, you practically coughed your organs out all over my carpet so I just assumed..." Lapis said, chuckling. I looked down, and noticed my spit splattered on Lapis's carpet and I felt my blush become 10 shades darker. "S-sorry about that, heheh..."

"Don't worry about it. I'll just get one of the Pearls to clean it up later..." Lapis says, sitting in her big black chair. "So, um.....is it true that my mom was a Peridot too?" I ask suddenly. Lapis is silent for a moment. She then closes her eyes and sighs. "I forgot about your mom. I'm sorry about her....I didn't really know her too well. All I heard about her was that she was good at her job, and Yellow Diamond said she was an amazing worker. She even told me off one time, saying that I should have more workers like her in my Authority...." Lapis explains, blowing a puff of smoke out. 

"I didn't even know she worked for a gang. She told me she worked for a high-paying business...but I didn't know she meant this kinda business..." I say, looking down. The room is filled with silence for a moment. "Hey, cheer up. I never even knew my real mom. Why don't we have some fun and take our minds off of it, no?" Lapis asks in a hopeful tone of voice, and I appreciated the way she tried to lighten the mood. 

I finally agreed, and Lapis pulled her phone out of her pocket and was tapping on it for a minute. A few moments later, music started playing from a nearby speaker, and I assumed it must've been Bluetooth. I immediately recognized the song that was playing, and nostalgia began to fill my senses as I looked at Lapis. It was 'How to Love' by Lil' Wayne and my mom used to put it on for me in the car all of the time when I was little.

Lapis began bobbing her head to the beat, removing the cigarette from her lips to puff another cloud of smoke. She put her phone down on the desk, and an idea popped into my head. "Have you ever danced with someone?" I asked. A small blush immediately formed on her face, and she looked to the side shyly. "N-no, I um, never learned..." she mumbled. "Well, I could teach you if you'd like..." I say, holding my hand out to her. She took the cigarette out of her mouth, and threw into the waste basket nearby.

She looked at my hand for a moment, then back at me. "I-I don't know....I'm not that good, hehe..." Lapis muttered, and it was the cutest thing to see how shy she was. "C'mon, you can't be that bad..." I said, still waiting for her to take my hand. After a few moments, she finally put her soft hand into mine, and our fingers intertwined immediately.  

I put her hand on my shoulder, and I put my hand on her waist. I began to step back and forth to the beat, and then she began to follow. We were now dancing, and I was looking into her eyes and I couldn't think of anywhere else I'd rather be than here at this moment. I was mouthing the lyrics, and Lapis leaned her head on my chest as we swerved back and forth and side to side.

Lapis giggled as I suddenly twirled her around, and I smiled back at her. I don't think I've ever been this happy in a long time.

We continued dancing like this for about ten minutes, and I twirled her one more time. But this time, it resulted in her tripping over my foot, and she fell backwards. I dashed forward and caught her, and we ended up in a dipped position, my arms wrapped around her waist, and her arms wrapped around my neck. We were staring into each other's eyes for what felt like forever, and we began to lean in closer. Next thing I know, I feel Lapis's lips pressed against mine, her arms wrapped around me tighter. 

I slowly close my eyes as I kiss back, and we were kissing for almost a whole minute. But unfortunately, us humans need to breathe, so we eventually had to separate for air. We both had huge blushes on our faces as we stood still in the same dipped position, realizing what just happened.

We stood back up, and I froze for a moment, just staring at her - she was doing the same to me. I stepped forward, and took her hands into mine, and I slowly leaned in and kissed her again. She kissed back, and everything was perfect, until there was a knock at the door. "Dammit..." I heard Lapis mumble under her breath as we broke the kiss.

She walked over to the door, and opened it. Jasper is standing at the door, and it scared me and Lapis both. "Uh, hey Lapis I--" Jasper's voice comes to a halt as she catches sight of me. "Um, it looks like you're kinda busy....s-so I'll just come back later...." Jasper mutters, walking away quickly. Lapis closes the door and turns to me, shrugging. "What was that about?" I asked curiously. Was Jasper finally gonna apologize to Lapis?

You know what - I don't care. I'm not gonna let Jasper ruin tonight, so I stayed and hung out with Lapis for about another hour or two. We ended up both falling asleep watching 'Botched' on TV. Could this night have ended on an anymore perfect note? Probably....but I'm not complaining....wait are Lapis and I a thing now...?
