Consideration

It's been three years since Kevin publicly came out as Bruce Wayne's son to ensure Jason wouldn't be dragged into the Suicide Squad. And he became a local celebrity because of this. But despite this, Kevin remained his humble self, and he still enjoyed his romantic relationship with Barbara. She managed to keep her relationship with Kevin in tact while still being Batgirl. She and Kevin were always there for each other, and their romance was just as intimate. The other night, the two lovers decided to spend the night and shared a shower together. There was nothing sexual about it as Barbara gently scrubbed Kevin's hair with shampoo. It was kind, gentle, and intimate. After cleaning up, she and Kevin slept together. Kevin felt safe and secure while protecting Barbara in his arms, and Barbara held him in her arms.

Kevin knew he loved Barbara, and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. The morning after, Kevin and Barbara had breakfast, and she was already dressed. "Gotta go to work," said Barbara, "see you after work?" Kevin nodded and said, "You know it. Love ya babe." Barbara kissed Kevin and said, "I love you too Kev." She then left the manor. Kevin's father Bruce and his half brother Damian were next to him, smiling. "You two make a cute couple," said Damian. "Thanks bro," said Kevin, "I think I want to marry her." Alfred, Bruce, and Damian all give a look of surprise. "You do?" Bruce asked. "It's been nearly four years," said Kevin, "I love Barbara. She loves me also. We make each other happy. I really want to spend the rest of my life with her." Alfred smiled and said, "I think you'd make a wonderful husband for Miss Gordon. You are like a son to the Commissioner, Master Kevin."

"Marriage is a serious commitment Kevin," said Bruce, "I know you'll never hurt Barbara. You both bring out the best in each other. But do you think you can handle marriage?" Kevin nodded and said, "I can. She's the one, Dad." Alfred chuckled and said, "And I think Master Kevin's mother would love some grandchildren, don't you agree Master Bruce?" Bruce smirked, then said, "Give me a minute." He then left the dining hall. Kevin wondered what was going on. Suddenly Bruce came back with a small blue box. "If you're going to propose to Barbara," said Bruce, "can I suggest using this?" He then opened the small box, revealing a proposal ring. "Wow Dad, I didn't know you had that." Kevin said in surprise. "I used this ring when I first proposed to your mother," said Bruce, "although it's been nearly 30 years since I last used that ring, I decided to not let it go to waste."

"Well thank you," said Kevin, "but I just realized something... if I were to publicly proposed to Barbara, the tabloid media could potentially find out... Got any advice?" Bruce rubbed his chin in a pondering manner whenever he had to think of something or whenever he was deducing something. Kevin got this mannerism from his father. "There's a campsite miles away from Gotham," said Bruce, "it has a river to fish and swim at, and a forest and mountain to hike and roam at. No technology whatsoever. Nothing but peace and quiet. It's the perfect vacation spot outside of Gotham, and it's definitely the place I would recommend proposing to Barbara at. It's called Higgins Lake." Kevin looked at where it was and said, "Perfect! Thanks Dad. I'll make arrangements and, by the end of the week, Barbara and I will go camping there."
