Chapter Twenty-Nine: Wiggle
You know when you meet someone, and they're not like super attractive or anything, but you start to get to know them and the more you do, the more adorable they become until they literally become the most attractive person you've ever meet, just because they're such a great person and you just really like being around them. And then people say, “I don't know what you see in them,” and your only answer is, “What is there not to see?” Because you're so focused on how awesome they are, you've forgotten that most people don't get to see that side of them. And although it's kind of sad, it's actually kind of nice, because then it's sort of like a special thing that you two share, and nobody else else will ever understand how completely wonderful they are.
Chapter Twenty-Nine: Wiggle
“I'm telling you Cat, Daniel is more handsome,” Char argued as she and Cat walked down the stairs to the kitchen.
“No, he is not,” Cat said, trying her best to make Char understand her point. “Joseph is hotter.”
“Well, I'm not saying he isn't, I'm just saying Daniel is more sophisticated, good-looking, absolutely more swoon-worthy, with beautiful hair, oh, have I mentioned more good-looking?” Char said, sitting on a stool behind the counter. “Okay, maybe I am saying he isn't.”
“Joseph fucking has an accent. A really hot one at that.” Cat argued. “The way he says ‘love’.” Cat stared dreamily.
While the girls argued, Daniel and Zach sat in the living room, listening attentively. Zach almost yelled. He was right in front his girlfriend and she was talking about how hot another man was? Who the hell was this Joseph dude anyway?
“Who’s Joseph?” Daniel leaned closer to Zach and whispered.
“I don't know but if I ever meet him, he's going down.” he whispered back. “Who’s this Daniel dude? You?”
Daniel shrugged. “Maybe. I hope so.”
“Oh, please,” They heard Char scoff. “Nothing sounds better than Elijah saying ‘Katerina’.”
Daniel and Zach's eyes widened. First, Daniel than Joseph and now, Elijah? What in the world was going on here?
Zach was the first to talk. “Uh girls, what are we talking about?” he asked, trying to be cheerful as he walked closer to the kitchen, Daniel trailing behind him.
“The Originals.” Cat answered and the boys sighed in relief. “Why?” she asked, noticing their actions and eyeing them intensely.
“No reason,” Daniel replied.
“That Elijah is one scaring dude, but with nice hair.” Zach told Daniel.
“I said that.” Char mumbled.
“You only know it's Elijah when a heart is ripped out.” Daniel said as he walked around Cat to the fridge, opening it and grabbing an apple.
Zach and Char nodded as Cat scowled. “Three against one. No fair.”
Daniel glanced at Char. Ever since that stunt he pulled yesterday, she'd been avoiding him. He chuckled softly under his breath before deciding to break the silence between them. “Hey Char, how are you?”
He watched in amusement as her eyes snapped to his. “Well, hello there, you self-centered, narcissistic douche canoe, how can I help the world revolve around you today?” She gave him a fake smile.
He chuckled, “Is this about yesterday? Because I can clearly see how much you loved it.” he smirked, pointing his chin to the left side of her neck.
She blushed, turning her head away from him. She'd tried to cover it up with make-up but the huge purple mark just wasn't budging.
“Can you die from constipation? I'm a little worried how full of shit some people are.” she said quietly as she drank from her cup.
From the corner of her eye, she saw Zach trying to cover his laughter with a fist pressed to his mouth. In order words, he was failing miserably, staring at the mark, making her blush. Why hadn't see brought a scaff or even a shawl?
Cat quickly noticed her friend's discomfort, and passed her a cup of coffee, laughing. Char glared at her.
“Saw a piece of shit of the ground today, reminded me of you.” she glared at him, and it annoyed her so much that he was still smirking.
“Shit’s about to get fansy,” Zach whispered to Cat who was sitting on the counter with Zach in between her legs.
“What's he doing here anyway?” Char asked no one in particular, still glaring at Daniel.
“Well, I didn't even feel doing anything today,” he paused for a moment and seemed to think, then looked her in the eye and smirked. “Except you, I'd do you.”
Zach's muffled laughter filled Char's ears and she turned to fix him a glare. She seemed to be doing a lot of that lately. It was like they enjoyed seeing her mad.
“Perv,” she mumbled, still looking at Daniel in the eye.
“You find it offensive? I find it funny, that's why I'm happier than you.” he said, taking a bite from him apple.
Cat's eyes moved between the two weirdos in her kitchen, quietly observing them and their usual outbursts. She shook her head at them and chuckled.
“You perverted twat waffle, You marked me! And you stand there eating apples and smirking at me? What's that supposed to mean?” Char scowled at him.
“That? Oh, that's just the most recent reason why I'm going to hell.” he shrugged, chuckling.
He was absolutely impossible, “Fuck you,” she hissed at me, raising her cup and downing it in one gulp.
“Babe, you can pick the time and place,” he smirked at her, again.
Zach and Cat burst out laughing at the look on Char's face. Her mouth was hanging open, and she didn't blink for a whole minute.
“Were you dropped on the head as a child?” she asked.
“Into a pool of sexy,” he answered.
She scoffed. “Get over yourself,”
“I’d rather get over you.” he took a step closer to her.
“Don't flatter yourself,” her eyes widened just a little bit and she straightened, completely aware that he looked really hot in those jeans.
“Oh, I won't. The look on your face right now is flattering enough.”
“I'm not an astronomer but I'm pretty sure the earth revolves around the sun and not you.” she said, her eyes widened fully at this point, knowing that if he made a pass at her, she'd run away. She braced herself, getting ready to jump off the stool.
“We both know your world does,” he took two steps forward, Char still at alert.
“You're so full of yourself.” she scowled, gripping the egde of the counter.
“Would you rather be full of me?” he smirked, another step.
“Ew! God! No!” she screamed, this time jumping up and making a run for it out the door. “Fuck you!” she screamed.
Daniel laughed really hard with Zach and Cat, clutching their stomachs. “Again, babe, you know where to find me.” he yelled after her.
“Come on, let's go before she takes out her anger on some random person.” Cat said, standing up straight and chuckling.
“Yeah,” Zach grabbed his keys and they left.
***********
“....and then I was like whatever bitches.. And the bitches whatevered.” Daniel said as he finished telling the table a story, causing Zach and Cat to erupt in laughter. Char sat there scowling because:
(a.) She was pretty sure she'd just missed a great story because she was angry.
(b.) She was angry
“Good one, man.” Zach said to him, snickering.
“Char, everything alright?” Cat asked, a look of concern on her face. Char had been strangely quiet and she had a pretty good guess that it had something to do with Daniel.
“I'm fine,” she snapped.
“Someone’s grumpy,” Zach whispered not-so-quietly.
“Ouch,” Daniel mocked and both boys burst out laughing.
Char hissed. Was it boy thing to be so annoying all the time?
“Real mature, guys. Real mature.” she scowled at them.
“You should seriously stop with the scowling, or you're gonna start looking like my mom, the ugly duckling that she is.” Zach told her. Char had to stop herself from laughing. Zach hated his mom with a really strong passion and you guessed it right, they weren't close or on speaking terms.
Daniel laughed though and Char was sure Zach had put him up to date on his relationship with his mom.
“I'm gonna go get a milkshake. Want one?” she asked Char who shook her head furiously.
“What about us?” Daniel asked, placing his hand on his chest and feigning hurt.
“Yeah, what about us?” Zach asked, doing the same thing.
“Go get your own. Chicks before Dicks.” she snorted.
“Oh no, she d’n’t,” Daniel exclaimed in a high pitch voice, doing the snap-your-finger move-your-hip thing causing both Char and Zach to burst out laughing.
“Idiot,” Cat chuckled, and shook her head, walking away.
As she walked, Char noticed Zach eyes were glued to Cat’s ass. Char chuckled under her breath, as she looked over her shoulder to see Cat walking gracefully, her hips swinging. Her ass was a work of art, no homo. Cat's outfit complemented her shape beautifully. And for a tiny fraction of a moment, Char was jealous.
She shook the thought off and looked back to Daniel.
He was already staring at her.
Only this time, it wasn't with amusement, or mockery... It was something different. Something warmer. His eyes spoke words of their own but she couldn't read it. Like she was scared of understanding the words.
“I'm back!” Cat announced as she took her seat by Zach, sipping on her milkshake from the straw.
Char tore her gaze from Daniel and looked.... well, elsewhere.
“Okay! I got one question,” Zach said to Cat. “How'd you fit all that,” he made a gesture with both hands behind her. “in them jeans?” he asked with wide eyes.
Daniel and Char burst out in laughter. You'd think as Zach was the oldest one here, he'd be more mature. Char kind of saw that one coming when she'd caught him staring at Cat's ass.
Cat blushed and looked away, grinning like an idiot.
“You know what to do with that big fat butt!” Daniel sang loudly.
“Wiggle! Wiggle! Wiggle!” Both boys chorused, standing up and doing the ‘wiggle’ dance. Char couldn't hold it in and neither could Cat as they too got on their feet and twerked.
“Damn baby, you got a bright future behind you,” Zach said as he watched Cat twerking. As well as every eye in the cafe. Young people laughed, clapped and cheered, old people shook their head in disapprobation.
The group sat back on their seat, laughing. “That was awesome,” Daniel grinned from ear to ear. “You are a naughty naughty girl.” he whispered huskiky in Char's ear.
Char rolled her eyes but blushed. She was never going to hear the end of this.
“You guys might not know this, but life is all about ass. You're either covering it, laughing it off, kissing it, kicking it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, acting like one or living with one.” Zach said with a grin.
Daniel laughed. “You know what? You're right.”
“That actually makes a little sense.” Char agreed and Cat nodded with a smile.
Cat turned her head and looked around the cafe. Her eyes landed on a middle aged woman on a table with a kid of about five. The woman had mentioned that she was a vegan. She had a bottle of water in her arms. Cat rolled her eyes at her stupidity. “Love how these so-called vegans still drink water. That's a fish’s house you sick fuck!” she yelled in the direction of the woman, catching her attention.
The woman gasped and covered her kid's ear with both hands. She hurried out of the cafe with her kid in hand glaring daggers at Cat.
“Did you see her face? Priceless.” Zach chuckled, shaking his head.
“That was mean. You suck.” Char pouted as she watched the way the woman scrambled out of the cafe in a hurry to save the ears of her child.
“Yes, I do. And I do it very well, thank you.” Cat smiled sweetly at her as Zach and Daniel burst out in laughter.
Cat’s words hadn't registered in Char's mind, but when it did, her eyes threatened to pop out as she gasped. The guys laughed harder, “You have completely corrupted her, Zach.” she scolded.
“I know, and I am so proud of her.” Zach wiped a fake tear from his eyes as he leaned in to kiss Cat.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
“It's not mine,” Char said.
Daniel: Me neither.
Zach: Not me.
Cat: It's me.
She answered the call and held it to her ear. “Uh huh, yeah, why? I don't want to, D. Please, okay, fine.” she cut the call and sighed, resting her elbows on the table, holding her head between them.
“Babe, is everything alright?” Zach asked, pulling Cat closer to him.
“Just got a booty call from life. Apparently it wants to keep fucking me.” Cat sighed.
Daniel snorted. “That's quite an imagination you got there.”
Char elbowed him in the stomach. “What's wrong?” she asked Cat.
“You know what? Nothing. We're going to a party. Come one guys, get up.” Cat stood on her feet.
“Wait, who's party?” Daniel asked, getting up too.
“Dustin’s,”
