Research

(Picture above: Sam's agreement face)

I was tugged out of my light sleep by a bright light. A flashlight was held to my sleepy face.

"Great she's still alive!" that was Dean. I peeled my eyes open to see what was going on.

"Come on, Dean, we couldn't leave her in here forever." Sam was probably the one who chose to open the trunk.

"Well she is fine, so can we shut this and keep driving?" Dean seriously didn't like me. I thought he was manly, and didn't dislike someone just because they are so much more awesome than he is.

"Um, hello? Ya, so I would like to have a seat inside the actual car please?" The trunk smelled, had no heater, and I was claustrophobic. It wasn't that bad because I surprisingly slept through the ride.

"Ya, come on. Sorry for not stopping Dean. Are you okay?" I had climbed out of the trunk and stood outside with Dean and Sam.

"Ya, I'm fine, but I think your trunk has a dead animal in it somewhere." It had smelled of demon blood and other monsters liquids. Gross. "Do you even clean your weapons before putting back under there?"

"I do. Dean, however." Sam looked over to Dean who looked mighty guilty.

"Oh come on. I get lazy sometimes!"

"Shouldn't we get going? The deaths occur pretty close together. Another will probably happen tomorrow." I climbed in to the car and shut the door. Sam and Dean got back into their same seats and, again, simultaneously shut their doors. Is that a thing that they do? Whatever.

*time skip to when they arrive at Little Rock*

"Okay listen up. Sam and I will go get two separate rooms in that motel over there and you can go to the library and do some research. Okay, got it, let's go!" Dean emphasized "separate rooms". Like I would ever even think that.

"Okay good plan. See you at lunch." I actually wanted to do this job alone. Other times I had worked with men, things always went wrong.

"No, no. It's okay. I'll go with Rachel. I like research." Sam suggested.

"No it's fine. I can go alone, really." I didn't mind if Sam tagged along, I just didn't want getting my way. I had to get this demon.

"I'll drive. Dean wouldn't let you touch his steering wheel, let alone drive it." Sam is a very persistent person. But, he was right, I didn't want to walk five blocks to the library.

"Fine, go you love birds." Dean said sarcastically. I wanted to kill Dean to death.

"Come on, Dean. Just go get the rooms." Sam gestures to the car and got in. I ducked down into the passengers seat.

*after the drive*

"So what are we looking for today." I ask Sam as we pull into the library.

"Well, there has been some suspicious deaths that we think might be a case. So we are looking for the latest news article on the deaths. See if we can get a description of the crime scene or anything that happened. Maybe we could even dress up." Sam looked excited when he said "dress up". I don't like where this is going.

"What do mean 'dress up'?"

"Well you know, buy a cheap suit, forge some fake badges, and wear aviators. The usual."

"How often do you do that? Couldn't you get caught?!" These boys had a serious criminal record and they don't even know it. I am starting to question whether they are professional.

"Well we don't get caught. Besides it is really easy." ...Oh have mercy on Sam's innocent soul. I wasn't sure who I was talking to, but someone had to be listening.

"All of that is going to come back a bite you in the butt you know." I needed to teach him my ways before he was totally lost for good.

"No it won't! We get away every time without anyone noticing." Sam had a pouty face on now and we had not yet entered the library.

"You don't think that the people who have met you ever look into the situation? People could figure out you are fake and report you to police or FBI." Sam was about to answer,

"Don't answer that... Listen, Sam, I would never get caught because I actually went to a police academy and graduated. I was an actual cop. Then I became FBI. I don't have to fake anything because I actually dedicated myself to this job." by this time Sam was staring at me in awe. "I get paid for doing stuff you do, but they think I am just solving a case and catching the bad guy. Heck, my partner even knows about this stuff and now he's a hunter. You know, telling the truth isn't against the law for hunters!" Okay I was done yelling at Sam. He is too innocent. I was catching my breath from talking to fast when Sam spoke.

"Well, I think you just wasted your breath, because that lecture was meant for Dean. I try to tell the truth. Dean, he drags me into this stuff. I was in law school with a girlfriend and Dean came to my door and took that life away from me. I have been stuck with him ever since my girlfriend was killed by the yellow eyed demon. That is why we lie. We don't have time to go to a police academy and follow the law!" I totally deserved that. I didn't know.

"Sam, I'm sorry. I didn't know. I'll yell at Dean later."

"It's fine. Let's go." He opened the library door for me and I went in. We sat at two computers and started our search. After I convinced Sam that we were not dressing up and that I would handle it. We drove to the police station and walked to the front desk.

"Hello, I am agent Rachel Kendrick, FBI. May I speak to the sheriff?" The lady at the desk lifted her eyebrow slightly till I showed my badge.

"Down the hall, first room to your left is his office." She pointed down the hall and we turned.

"Thank you."
