It was a kind of situation Soobin never pictured himself to be in.

Heck, he didn't even once consider he was capable of doing such thing.

But then there he was, with a bouquet of fresh white baby's breath resting peacefully beside him on the passenger's seat. He got out of work early with the knowledge that Yeonjun would finally be out of the clutch of his job after dealing with a sufferable week of a busy schedule.

Soobin made it his own personal mission to take care of his husband and relieve all of his exhaustion by being the sweetest he could possibly be.

And that mission will start as soon as picks Yeonjun up from his family's company.

The male had everything planned out already inside his head. He just had to execute the plan accordingly by showing up unannounced at his husband's office first, surprising him with his presence and a bouquet of flowers at hand, as he wears a sweet warm smile.

Soobin could already see the startled expression of the brunette that will slowly turn into a fond, appreciative look with his eyes twinkling in delight, unknowingly holding the entire galaxy inside them, as his lips earnestly curls upward to showcase his endearing perfect smile that never fails to take Soobin's breath away.

Just thinking about t sets Soobin's veins on fire in excitement and he couldn't wait to see his beloved husband already.

Then after picking Yeonjun up from work, maybe they could look around the city to let loose and have some fun for a while since it would still be pretty early anyway. They could shop for a few more clothes perhaps, or go for an unprepared home-shopping, or they could also try out this one famous game house to act like silly little kids, or maybe have a day tour or something?

They could do anything Yeonjun wants. Soobin would be there to give him anything (and everything) to make him happy and he'll do it in a heartbeat without any hesitations.

However, when Soobin did finally show up at the brunette's office (kind of expecting to see him arguing with his secretary about something irrelevant) he was indeed surprised to see him just sitting there, on his swivel chair, head buried on his arms as they rest on top of the table.

Soobin couldn't help the frown growing on his features at the sight of his husband so jaded and was practically trying to be one with the wooden table.

He took careful strides towards the oblivious male, lightly placing the bouquet on the vacant chair in front of him as to not abruptly disturb the break Yeonjun is desperately trying to get.

Leaning his body down a bit to level on the resting male, Soobin gently runs his fingers through the brown, unruly, but still soft locks of his husband and slowly brings them down to tap Yeonjun's cheek in attempt to wake him up.

It appeared that Soobin's attempt worked because the next few moments, Yeonjun was raising his head up while rubbing his eyes tiredly. His bangs falling lazily on his forehead, cheeks a little flushed from being pressed down and a mindless pout in his lips. He then tried to blink the tiredness away as he forced himself to focus on the figure in front of him which he then recognized as his husband.

With weariness still evident on his being, Yeonjun brought his arms wide open as if asking to be engulfed in a warm embrace without paying any mind onto what Soobin is doing there in his office when he should be working at their company instead. "Binnie," he mumbled, voice soft as a new fallen feather withering in the wind.

And without second thoughts, Soobin gave him what he was obviously asking for and caged him in his arms, Yeonjun's head planting itself onto his stomach as he wraps his arms around the taller's waist. The brunette unconsciously sighed, finally finding the content his body craved for since the beginning of the day.

"Tired?" Soobin questioned although it was pretty clear but neither of them really mind. Yeonjun only nodded his head as a response.

Silence fell after that. Both males letting the comfort touch them while they stayed in each other's hold inside that room. Neither moving nor saying a word, they remained still and relaxed with the view of the city outside Yeonjun's office window as their background. One would say the scenario is simple yet adorable, also adding the fact that there's a bouquet of flower lying there unharmed while watching the two males.

But then after quite a while, Soobin decided it was the time to break the comfortable tranquility, remembering his rather thoughtful mission and gently pulling Yeonjun away who resisted the action at first but then complied nonetheless. "Hey, Yeon-ah, do you, maybe, want to go out right now?"

Expecting an enthusiastic nod and dilated eyes to look up at him, Soobin was surprised once again when Yeonjun just slowly shook his head no. He fought back the urge to furrow his brows in bafflement because Yeonjun isn't one to turn down that kind of invitation so why is he refusing to go now?

Not wanting his plan to crumble down, Soobin told himself to try and insist to see if he could still change Yeonjun's mind. "No?"

Yeonjun nodded his head, eyes blinking tiredly up at him. Soobin had to hold himself back from cooing at that adorable sight.

"You don't want to go shopping? Walk around the park? Visit that newly open restaurant you were bugging me about last week?"

Sure, it was tempting and he would really like to do those things and spend time with his husband after being unable to do so because of them (especially him) being busy the past few days but Yeonjun isn't feeling like it right now.

What he wants, however, is to be close to Soobin at any possible way, probably the reason why he's reaching for his hand at the moment.

"No." Yeonjun simply answered.

"Alright," Soobin curiously watched the way Yeonjun is acting. The male had reached for his hand and was now putting it on his face, his own hand atop of Soobin's as he leaned into his palm and closed his eyes in contentment. Soobin felt Yeonjun's lashes grazing his skin and he went to delicately caress the latter's cheekbone with his thumb. "What do you want to do then?"

"Hug."

Taken aback by the bluntness of the reply, Soobin tried to cover it up by asking more. His mind still determined to flip things around which include the both of them enjoying themselves out in this fine afternoon.

"Got any place in mind? We can go anywhere you lik—"

"Just take me home, Soobin."

"What?"

"Let's go home," Yeonjun then opened his eyes and stood up, instantly wrapping himself in Soobin's arms and catching the taller off guard who just blinks in surprise.

"Please." And with Yeonjun muttering that softly against his neck like he's about to crash down any second, Soobin was left with no choice but to agree and move his mission on-hold for next time because it seems Yeonjun has other plans.

"Okay, that could work too."

The smaller male pulled away with a small smile on his face before he leaned forward to peck Soobin on the cheek. It was soft and gradually turning warm underneath his lips which made Yeonjun let out a breathy giggle. "You're cute." He mumbled, "and thank you for the flowers, I love them."

And yeah, Soobin earned another peck on the cheek.

___

Now, Soobin isn't complaining but he couldn't help himself from noticing the behavior the elder exhibits towards him.

No, it's nothing bad, to Soobin at least, but ever since he showed up at the male's office, Yeonjun has been acting clingier than usual.

It had already been established that Yeonjun is the more affectionate one in their relationship—if it isn't already clear from all the touches and complaints of being kiss deprived. Still, those events only occurred from time to time and Soobin is always more than willing to conform.

However, today, Yeonjun acts as if he couldn't be away from Soobin for more than a second. It isn't enough to just have the ravenette in reach of his sight or simply feel his presence, it seems that Yeonjun has to be physically sure he's there. Whether it's in terms of holding his hand, linking their arms together, hugging him, putting his head on Soobin's shoulder, placing Soobin's arms around him and basically any other form of skinships, Yeonjun has to do all of that.

It's like, if Yeonjun doesn't hold the male, Soobin will instantly vanish into thin air which made Yeonjun wants to always touch him. All the time.

By the minute they got home, Soobin already faced a struggle into getting the older male to take a warm shower to ease his exhaustion down because Yeonjun refused to let him go.

The brunette had an iron grip on his arm, not wanting to set him free and was complaining about showering being too much work. Soobin was only able to succeed in making the other go when he promised they'll cuddle as soon as Yeonjun's done with his shower.

And then after that heavy persuasion, Soobin realized they didn't stop over to grab some snacks so he decided to just make sandwiches and instant ramen while Yeonjun was still in the shower. Then minutes later and Yeonjun was already done but Soobin was still waiting for their food to cook.

So, with a huge pout and frown on his face, Yeonjun came down stomping to the kitchen and demanded Soobin to hurry up which the younger replied him to wait for another three minutes.

But for some unknown reason, Yeonjun was oddly so impatient today that he couldn't bear wait for another minute more because according to him, 'that's goddamn long and I can't survive for that amount of time' so he took matters into his own hands and went to latch himself onto Soobin's back while the younger continued his work, sighing in defeat.

And then when they were finally settled in the dining room, eating the snacks Soobin prepared, Yeonjun was just silently sitting beside Soobin and then as time passed by, he was gradually inching closer until he was practically sitting onto Soobin's lap as they eat. The younger pointed it out in an attempt to tease the male but ended up being scolded because apparently, Yeonjun was 'feeling cold and needs warmth' and just sitting beside Soobin wasn't close enough he had to find warmth somehow and it just so happened that sitting on his lap was the perfect temperature.

It made Soobin gawked at him with astonishment dancing on his features but still let the older had it his way, nonetheless.

___

Two hours later and the two are comfortably settled on their theater room watching a movie of the brunette's choice. They're cuddled up on the chaise longue, sharing a blanket with Yeonjun's head resting on Soobin's chest, his arms draped around the taller's torso, holding him tight while Soobin has his left arm around Yeonjun's shoulder as he runs his fingers softly on his forearm.

Both males got their focus merely on the scene playing, nothing else to be heard of aside from the speakers and their breathing until Yeonjun moved his head up to look at Soobin, his hair falling over his tired eyes and his cheek adorably pressed on the younger male.

Soobin felt the other's movement so he spared him a glance back, dismissing the film playing in front. The gentle tracing patterns of his hand halting as he mumbled, "What is it?"

"I'm thirsty." Yeonjun lowly responded, a pout unknowingly forming on his lips.

Soobin almost coo-ed at the sight but maintained his cool, using his other free hand to boop Yeonjun's nose who scrunched his face up at the action, "Let me get us something to drink."

Just as Soobin attempted to get out of Yeonjun's grip, the latter stopped him with a small whine, "But I don't want you to move!"

"I'll be back before you know it, you baby."

"No!" Yeonjun argued, tangling their legs together and preventing Soobin from standing up by throwing his arms over him.

Having been dealt with Yeonjun's childish antics before, Soobin isn't really that fazed anymore and knows exactly what to do. He grabs a hold of both the brunette's hands on him and tried to remove them while placing a kiss on Yeonjun's forehead. "I'll be quick, okay?"

With his eyes closing momentarily because of that, Yeonjun fluttered them back open with a sigh. Pouting and still clutching onto Soobin's shirt, "Come back fast."

"I will." And with that, the dark haired male placed another peck on his baby's forehead.

He was busy pouring pineapple juice on his and Yeonjun's glasses a loud ringing abruptly startled him. Soobin placed the pitcher down, looking around the kitchen in search of the cause of that sound when his eyes finally darted on the lone phone vibrating on a chair across from him.

Soobin walked towards it and picked it up, only to realize that it was Yeonjun's phone and that he probably left it there when they were eating earlier. Anyway, after seeing it was Taehyung who was calling, Soobin decided to answer it himself.

"Finally! I've been calling you for like, four times now!" the male yelled from the other line, irritation filling his tone. Soobin holds the phone away from his ear for a moment and couldn't help but be reminded of his own brother.

"Hello to you too, Taehyung hyung."

"Wait—you're not Yeonjun. Did I call a different num—"

"It's Soobin, hyung. Yeonjun's upstairs and he left his phone here in the kitchen." Soobin explained, putting the phone in between his shoulder and cheek as he picked the glasses up.

"Oh, that explains why."

"Yeah," The ravenette is now carefully climbing up the stairs, glasses in both hands and a phone in his shoulder. "Want me to get Yeonjun?"

"Nah, it's fine. I just called to check if he's still alive since he's been spamming me with texts earlier, talking about how tired he is and that he wants to burry himself alive."

Now reaching the corridor with a table pressed against the wall, Soobin put down both glasses in there and properly held the phone. He paused, contemplating about whether he should tell Taehyung about the things he had observed and reaching to the conclusion that he should just say fuck it and do it.

"Actually, hyung—I want to ask you something."

He heard the male let out a sound of surprise but replied anyway, "As long as I can answer, yeah, sure."

"Well yeah, it's—it's about Yeonjun."

"Oh? What happened? Is something wrong—"

"No, no—" He quickly dismissed the thought, scolding himself for wording it out wrong and caused Taehyung to be worried over nothing. "Everything's fine, well, at least I hope so."

"What do you mean?"

"It's just, Yeonjun's not acting himself but he is at the same time?" Soobin cringed at his own words. Also finding himself stupid for not explaining it better, "He's—how do I say this—he's like, being more affectionate than normal? I mean, I don't find it bad or anything. I love everything he does but like, he's rejecting every idea of going out when he would usually take every opportunity to leave the house because he claims it's boring. But now, we're just here, even though I suggested tons of places we could go to and—"

Taehyung suddenly laughed, interrupting Soobin off of his sentence midway. "I never thought I'll hear you ramble, Soobin. It's amusing."

The younger male stopped, embarrassment quickly engulfing him but he told himself to quit it and focused at the matter at hand even though he's very much aware of his burning ears. "Sorry, it's just—I don't know, hyung. He doesn't want to let me go for too long and is always complaining. It's cute but—I think he's not telling me something because he looks really exhausted but is trying to cover it up and he thinks I don't notice."

"Wait—you said he doesn't want to let you go for long? Like you can't be out of his sight?"

Soobin nodded and then realized Taehyung can't see him so he facepalmed himself for his own stupidity. "Yeah."

"Is he also, acting like a child? Being really touchy?"

"Yes."

"Always wants constant attention?"

"Yes." Soobin sighed. "Not that I don't like it—"

"Is he perhaps, complaining about the temperature or something like that?" Taehyung cuts him off again, but Soobin sensed the seriousness in his voice this time.

"Yeah, he does that too."

"Well shit, good luck Soobin. You'll need it."

His brows furrowed in puzzlement. "What? Why?"

"Wait for a few more hours and you'll see."

Soobin frowned even more, his fingers running through his hair. "What do you mean, hyung?"

"Prepare yourself because he's about to get clingier than ever—about ten times the amount but since it's you, he'll probably be a lot worse. Oh, and he's also gonna be really, really and I mean, really, sensitive. He'll most likely cry over trivial things and would want to hear validation for like, every two seconds. So, make sure you have thousands of compliments in store, you'll need that and you'll also have to be extra patient and pamper him a lot because he'll want to feel cared for. And by that, I mean, he wants to hear how much someone cares for him with so much exaggeration. Don't question it, that's just how it works." Taehyung said those so seriously like he's giving his statement in a trial and Soobin doesn't know how to feel but he just listened.

"What's going on?"

"Be careful Soobin. I'm warning you again, Yeonjun will get really sensitive. You'll have to be patient."

"Taehyung hyung—"

"It's gonna happen soon, I tell you. He's about to fall sick."

___

And so it happened.

Either Taehyung is secretly a prophet or he has just grown used to it for the time he and Yeonjun lived together.

But here the brunette is, curled up in bed with several blankets covering him with puffy cheeks and swollen eyes for the amount of times he had cried for three hours. He has his face buried on a pillow, eyelids closed and quietly sniffing while Soobin silently watched him from the sofa across the bed.

For those wondering why Soobin isn't joining Yeonjun on the bed, well, it's because Yeonjun claimed he is mad and doesn't want Soobin near him anymore.

And it was all because they had an unnecessary argument over a damn medicine.

With his arms still folded on his chest, Soobin cleared his throat and wait for a response but got nothing. He took a deep breath, calming himself down and repeatedly forcing his mind to extend his patience because nothing will work out if both of them let their childishness take over.

However, he also can't let himself to just follow Yeonjun around and give him everything he asks for because some of those are not allowed for him at the moment. Soobin also has to muster a lot of self-control for resisting those puppy eyes only to get a tantrum in return each time.

Taehyung must have forgotten to warn him about little bratty Yeonjun in his sickness state. And Soobin has been dealing with him for a few hours now.

Rewind scenes from the past three hours

~~~
The moment Soobin returned back in the theater room, he already understood what Taehyung meant.
Yeonjun was freezing under the blankets when he switched on the light. Soobin almost let go of the glasses he was holding when he bolted over Yeonjun's shivering figure. He then placed his palm on top of the brunette's forehead and mumbled a curse.
"Binnie." Yeonjun opened his eyes and they were teary, Soobin wanted to scream and just tuck him away from everything. The sick male then weakly reached his arms forward in hopes of holding onto his husband.
"Why didn't you tell me you're feeling sick?" Soobin massaged his temples. "Baby, you have to tell me if you don't feel great—"
"Are you mad?" Yeonjun's lips were quivering when he asked that. His eyes glistened with tears that were so close into falling. He felt weak and his head was spinning and he felt like his whole body was burning and it sounded like Soobin was mad and he was going to cry.
Soobin reminded himself about what Taehyung had told him and shook his head, leaning forward and reaching his arms to pick Yeonjun up from the lounge who immediately let himself be carried. "I'm not."
"Really?"
"Yes. Now let me take you back to our room."
Yeonjun didn't respond after that and just let Soobin take him away in his arms.
*
"I don't want to wear them!"
"But you have to change, honey. You're full of sweat."
"No! I don't want my clothes!"
"Then what are you going to wear?" Soobin sighed as he picked up all of the shirts Yeonjun had thrown all around one by one.
The male just refused everything Soobin brought him and instead of giving them back nicely, he threw them to the floor.
"Yours. Give me yours." Yeonjun muttered and gave Soobin puppy-eyes, the one where he looked extra adorable because he knows Soobin can't resist that one.
"Which one?"
The brunette grinned at that and sat up on the bed, only to regret it second later because he felt like his head was being pounded by a sledge hammer.
"Be careful." Thankfully, Soobin was quick to get on his side and guided him before he tumbled over.
Yeonjun gave him a smile, "I want the blue hoodie please, and thank you."
*
Soobin had just finished checking Yeonjun's temperature with a thermometer when he received a call from the company. He answered that, of course and had a little conversation about something but he was unaware someone was listening intently behind him and that someone was pouting so hard, his face was turning red each passing second.
To Yeonjun's perspective, Soobin was having such an enthusiastic call and it was taking so long which annoyed the hell out of him. His mind considered throwing the phone against the wall once Soobin was done but that would make the younger mad at him so maybe he'll do it when Soobin was out of the room.
"Babe," he called out but his voice was small because of his fever so Soobin didn't hear him. Yeonjun felt irked.
"Binnie," he tried again but failed. He decided he'll just do something to get Soobin's attention back on him but he couldn't move without his head feeling like it was being stomped over by an elephant.
After his fifth attempt, Yeonjun grew frustrated he just started crying and rolled around. His mind telling him that Soobin must have been ignoring him on purpose so he cried even harder.
And as if on cue, Soobin's phone call ended and when he turned back around, he was alarmed to see his husband wailing on a pillow so he immediately rush beside him.
"Hey, baby, what's wrong?" the raven haired softly asked, his hand finding itself caressing Yeonjun's wet cheeks gently.
"You don't love me anymore!" Yeonjun slapped Soobin's hand away and planted himself on the bed, still crying hard; repeatedly mumbling about Soobin not wanting to be with him anymore.
"What? Where did you get tha—"
"Go back to your phone call! I don't want to see you!"
*
"Oh my god your hands are so soft and they're so huge they fit with mine perfectly it's painful!"
Soobin was now sitting beside Yeonjun on their bed, the other playing with their hands when he suddenly cried out of nowhere and began rambling about it. Soobin didn't know what to do, he tried to calm him down but he was silenced.
"Look! Oh no—" The brunette sobbed, "it felt so nice don't you dare hold another person's hand I'm warning you!"
"Baby, do you think we're meant to hold each other's hands ever since? Because if so then that's beautiful I'm going to—" Yeonjun cried again even harder and Soobin tried to brush his tears away but the latter held his hands tighter and did not allow him.
"No! Don't let go! I like them like this. Oh my god! Don't you like it? Do you not love me anymore!?"
The brunette then let go of their hands and slapped Soobin's arm, "You want to hold someone else's, don't you!? Answer me!"
"I don't—"
"You're lying!"
"No, stop crying. Come here. We can hold hands for as long as you like, okay?"
"Okay."
*
And then just a few moments ago, he and Yeonjun had a small argument because the older refused to drink his medicines and yell about wanting an ice cream which Soobin dismissed in a heartbeat.
Because of that, Yeonjun used all his power to act pitiful and cute and when it didn't work, he started to throw a tantrum and cried again, insisting that Soobin doesn't care about him at all and wants to poison him with that evil tablets.
Soobin told him to quit it but the male didn't listen and said he's only going to stop when Soobin finally bring him ice cream.
And of course, the raven haired did not. He just sat there and wait until Yeonjun grew tired enough to stop his childish wails and drink his meds.
He now stood up from the sofa and made his way over his husband and sat beside him, pulling the covers down to reveal the sniffing male.
"Are you done, now?"
Yeonjun sent Soobin a shameful look, his eyes red and cheeks puffy and after seeing his husband's exhausted frame, guilt showered down on him and Yeonjun felt like crying all over again because he knows it was because of him.
Soobin took Yeonjun's silence as a yes and began to move closer but the latter shifted away, hiding himself under the covers because he felt deeply ashamed and he's going to cry again if he looks at Soobin's face for long.
"Yeon,"
"No, please—"
"Are you still mad?"
And god, Yeonjun tears up once again because Soobin sounded really small and he genuinely thinks he did something to make Yeonjun mad when he was just being a sensitive idiot for nothing. He wants to smack his own face.
He then turned around, pulled the covers down and faced Soobin with tear stained cheeks, "No, look—I'm sorry. I know I'm a handful and you're probably so tired of me now, I won't blame you. I'm a brat and I know th—"
"Stop." Soobin muttered. Yeonjun looks up at him to see Soobin's face falling dark and he cowers, feeling vulnerable under such sharp gaze. "I'm not tired of you, alright? I will never. So please, don't ever think like that."
"But it's true. I've been giving you a hard time and it hasn't even been a day yet."
"And? I don't care. It's the way you are and I understand. I won't just suddenly be tired of you because of this. I love you too much to do that." Soobin then brushed Yeonjun's hair up his forehead and the smaller male closed his eyes, loving the way Soobin always holds him so gently.
"Say that again." Yeonjun mumbled, kissing the side of Soobin's palm when it reached his cheek.
"What?"
"The last part. Say that again."
With Yeonjun staring up at him with his brown eyes Soobin always finds himself getting lost into, he smiles in understanding before shifting himself down so he could lie down next to his husband. As soon as he settled down on the bed, Yeonjun put his head on his chest as Soobin's arm draped around his shoulder to pull him close.
"Say it." Yeonjun whispers.
"I love you." Soobin pressed down a kiss on his husband's forehead.
Yeonjun didn't respond but sighed in contentment, nestling his face onto Soobin's neck and it was enough for them to know that Yeonjun does too.
It was minutes of tranquility and comfort of the both of them just basking in each other's arm when Yeonjun began speaking again. He didn't move to look up at Soobin but instead, stayed there listening to his lover's heartbeat.
"Baby?"
"Hmm?" Soobin responded while playing with Yeonjun's soft brown locks.
"How much do you love me?" Yeonjun said without much thought but when he felt Soobin halted his movements, he panicked and tried to find the words to explain himself. "I mean—it's just a thought. I want to be aware how much and the reason why so—I don't know. So I could work on that better so you'll always love me and not get tired."
Okay, Yeonjun did not intend to let that out.
That right there, is his freaking insecurity he made sure to burry deep inside so why the hell is he letting them out right now? What the fuck Choi Yeonjun you should have just stayed quiet.
After an agonizing five seconds of waiting, Soobin finally speaks. "What did I say about thinking like that?"
"I know. I'm sorry—you don't have to answer. Forget it."
Yeonjun then turned away from Soobin; wanting to hide himself along with his negative thoughts. He blames his sick state for being like this.
However, not even a blink of an eye later and Yeonjun could already feel a pair of arms engulfing him back in its embrace. His breath hitched when he felt Soobin breathing down his neck.
"I don't want to give you a reason because I know how your brain works. You'll overthink again and bring yourself down—I don't want that."
Yeonjun remained silent, assuming that Soobin has something more to add and he assumed right.
"And honestly, I don't think there's a single reason why and I don't think I can tell you how much because it's immeasurable." He then left soft kisses on Yeonjun's temple down to his shoulder, the latter not saying anything and just listening intently. His heart fluttering in a really good way.
"So, to answer your question," Soobin made the brunette face him and sent him an adoring smile, his eyes staring deep in Yeonjun's soul, swirling with emotions only the two of them could know. "Choi Yeonjun, I love you beyond measures and for all the reasons there is."
Holy shit. Maybe Yeonjun should get sick more often.
