Abhira stood in front of the mirror, clad in a deep red banarasi saree and matching blouse. She was wearing a simple red stone studded choker and large round earrings and a bangle set for Charu,s marriage.

Her face softened as she caught sight of him standing behind her, through the mirror.

Aa gaye tum?

She spoke, her voice soft and turned to gaze at him.

Armaan admired the way she looked at him, the smile that had been lost once, had returned, the twinkle in her eyes, once dimmed by past hardships, now shone brightly. He bubbly side had returned and Armaan couldn't help but smile at the thought.

Yes.

Armaan spoke, his eyes twinkling with mischief. Abhira smiled softly at him.

They were still working on their relationship and the scars were healing but Abhira was still a bit doubtful. The dreams, once a regular companion, were now less frequent. The trauma still lingered but the impact had lessened. All thanks to the whole family except Vidya who had supported her through this tough phase of her life.

Akhir zindagi pyaari hai mujhe apni.

Armaan,s words pulled her out of her thoughts and she couldn't help but laugh as his words sank in, her laughter, a beautiful melody dancing in the air.

Yeh bhi sahi hai.

She said softly, her voice tinged with a hint of laughter.

She reached out holding the multi colored box of sindoor and held it out in front of him.

Understanding her unspoken words, he reached out and took a pinch of sindoor in between his fingers. Abhira closed her eyes feeling him fill her hairline with sindoor, a bit of sindoor falling over her nose. Her heart swelled with a mixture of warmth and affection as she opened her eyes and gazed at him, their eyes locked, the world around them faded into insignificance leaving only the two of them in their own bubble.

He reached out, his fingers brushing against her cheek in a tender caress that made her heart swell and she felt a shiver race down her spine.

I love you.

His confession was met with a smile, her eyes crinkling at the egdes.

Abhira looked at him, her heart aching with the weight of his emotions, pounding in her ears. The words were at the edge of her tounge but she couldn't voice it out, A sense of helplessness washed over her, a part of her criticized herself but she couldn't help it.

The words were at the edge of her tongue but she couldn't voice them out, something held her back. She closed her eyes tightly, a mixture of emotions swirling within her and her hands clenched at her sides.

Her eyes fluttered open, her wide gaze locking onto his as she opened her mouth to speak something but he silenced her with a soft shake of his head.

I know you love me too.

He said with a soft smile but she saw the spark in his eyes dimming slightly.

Abhira,s heart twisted with the weight of his pain and the sense of guilt that clung to her like a second skin.

He held her hand and locked his fingers with hers before kissing the back of her palm.

It's okay.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at him, the guilt overwhelming her and she chocked out, her voice cracking.

I'm sorry.

He shook his head sideways, a soft smile playing on his lips.

It's my fault. Not yours.

He said softly and tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear.

Mumma.

Abhira looked down, a beautiful smile forming on her face, her eyes crinkling at the edges.

Arohi.

She spoke, her voice filled with motherly affection as she bent down and picked Arohi up in her arms. She was the daughter of Rohit and Ruhi but was adopted by Abhira as Ruhi had died during childbirth and Rohit had abandoned Arohi, blaming her for Ruhi,s death and Abhira and Armaan ended up adopting her.

Armaan watched, his heart swelling with an overwhelming emotion as he stepped towards the mother and daughter.

Main kaisi lag rahi hoon.

She asked, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of anticipation and childlike innocence. She was dressed in a saree which was similar to Abhira,s.

Bilkul pari.

Abhira said, kissing her cheek, her heart swelling with an an overwhelming sense of motherly affection as she kissed Arohi,s hair.

Let's go.

Armaan said softly, the soothing cadence of his voice cutting through the moment and Abhira nodded before placing a tiny black bindi on her forehead. The trio walked out of the room.
